What I love about Orm is when he says “Not Your Highness, call me Ocean Master”, he’s become so corrupted by his own sense of power and pride he’s disregarded the need to be king. He would prefer to be known as the being who controls the greatest might of the seven seas as opposed to its ruler. Thus, making him one of the most terrifying villains on Earth.
And then he doubles down even further. C'mon, you just saw a creature bigger than your largest capital ships, claw itself up *through the magma*, and you think your guns are going to do anything more than tickle it? Yet he calls the order to attack.....stupid hubris.
@@caddan4175 I don’t think it’s hubris, it’s more of rage. How an “outsider/bastard” was able to control the beast and wield the Trident of Atlan (their ancestor). He knows Arthur showing up and effectively being the true king of the Seven Seas means his defeat.
And this is actually the only version that doesn't have him kill Atlanna as part of taking power.

That poor Fisherman Princess, not only was she young and without experience, her people were not war-like at all, combined with witnessing her father be murdered. Orm was a monster to inflict all this on her.

Aside from Man of Steel, this is my favorite movie in the DCEU. Not only because of how a lot of it is pulled from the source material or how quirky some of the dialogue can be at times, but because of how they took a very underrated and laughable comic book hero and made him into a total badass. This is how I’ve always envisioned Aquaman. I remember seeing that moment at 1:38 in theaters and shedding a tear because it was like my hopes for what an Aquaman movie could be were greatly exceeded. I love Jason’s performance of the character, the villains, and how emotional it can get.

The Effects in this movie look Gorgeous but the real Killer is the Direction and Photography what an amazing movie from DC
This scene gladly takes me back to my childhood watching Kaijus like Godzilla and Power Rangers with the giant mechazord fights and the scaling just amazes me how in real life, so much of our oceans are unexplored knowing how deep they go because even giant underwater ships here look tiny compared to the Karathen. Every now and then when I get the chance to see this video in my recommendations, I don't hesitate watching it again as it never fails to give me goosebumps.
And this is why Aquaman is a badass. Let it be known that for all those who still think he is lame, Aquaman rules the Kingdom of Atlantis. An empire that controls 3/4 of the entire planet!
And this ovie doesn't even show half of the trident's powers. His trident not only commands the sea, it can shoot lightning bolts, cause tidal waves and control the weather as well as causing storms. Let's hope they explore that in future movies. PS: to all the people saying Aquaman is lame, one of his deadliest powers is that he can flood the entire Earth if he so wishes

Something that i really like about this scene is that it shows us how fucking destructive and dangerous nature would be if it was as organized as an army, it's almost terrifying
DC did amazing with Aquaman and Wonder Woman, this scene and Wonder Woman going into No Mans Land rivals any Marvel epic moments - and I really love the MCU

When I first heard an Aquaman movie was gonna be released I was the first to say "That's gonna be a cringy shit show of a movie. Just imagine how dumb this dude gonna look" cause I genuinely didn't like how the cartoons looked. Anyways i'm pretty positive that was one of, if not the most inaccurate thing I could of predicted. This is actually one of my favorite movies of all time and it really sparked an interest for more DC content. Which I did find and was very pleased with. 10/10 would recommend.
Fortunately for Aquaman, DC did with him what Marvel did with Iron Man or the Guardians of the Galaxy, that's choosing a not very well-liked character and make him popular.
