    • Absolutely so! I'm somewhat younger, and not a musician, (a poet albeit) & started with Pink Floyd music at the very same age, approx... Disregarding some pauses, in favour of baroque, renaissance etc etc. music ... there was always Just Pink Floyd for me. Ok I can appreciate J.Airplane & such % such ... but nothing ever comes near to This ... PEACE

The keyboards and guitar mixed with the greatest vocal duo of all time made me feel sad, bliss and happy at the same time which shows why Echoes is the greatest song of all time

The people in the music industry don't promote them only the Hi fi magazines in Britain doing this at least 2 of them that doing great job the magazines are HI FI CHOICE AND HI FI NEWS maybe some more but I don't know them at least those 2 magazines are the best in my opinion. All of you young people buy these magazines they tell you also what equipment you can buy at any price point.I mean a nice budget system of 600 to 700 pounds for the lot Amplifier CD player and speakers that can last for 20 years yes a proper Hi Fi system from brands that are specialists for music reproduction Cheers

    • M83 "A Year in Festivals". Or Sasquatch. Or Lowlands. Their 2016 Tour was superb. And readily available for viewing on KZhead. And I'm not contesting your statement. These Pink Floyd vids are at or near the top of the list. But M83 is top 5. The others are Tom Petty Live jams and Dire Straits Alchemy Tour. I'll leave the 5th spot open for suggestions. Most of the newish acts cannot rival PF. But M83 definitely does hold their own- try them and see

  • On The Turning Away is, in my opinion, one of Pink Floyd's great songs. It has a bleak but beautiful vibe to it that is compelling and riveting. Gilmour's solo in the closing segment is the musical expression of the psycotic and tortured realm that is the human condition. Pink Floyd is a band that has remained brilliant and relevant through its many incarnations and is one of the giants in prog rock history

    • Welcome to the machine Us and them On the turning away Explains the agendas of the political system and the reaction of the citizens in the states these days. The machine has turned us into US and them rather than we the people and we've chosen to turn away from one another rather than remaining United and fighting back. Exactly as the machine wants it. So they can continue eroding our freedoms and self reliance and ensure we rely on THEM and guarding their future existence instead of ours

But, having watched this, we always associate Gilmore and Waters (and Barrett) with the Floyd, but man weren't Mason and Wright essential cogs !!!!! • Thank you for this, I've never seen Astronomy Domaine performed live, in modern times, before. Regrettably, I missed the show in Edmonton, Alta on June 28, 1994, moving to Alta in '96. To make up for it (not really).... I've watched/listened to Pulse over 100 times in the last 20 years. (I currently have my 3rd version.) One of the best Rock shows, to this day. Masters of the 'live' show. &, then there's David & his incredible ability to make an axe sing. I've always felt a bit of a kinship with David (Gilmour). He joined Pink Floyd in the same year I joined this world, almost to the month. But, '68 was the birth place for allot of Iconic bands, & allot of great music. Lucky me. Thanks for the the music, the effort, the inspiration & the mileage.

  • I've seen them many times. Its like the hand of God comes down and touches us through them, the spectacle the deep hidden connection, the subliminal messages from the ones who reach out from another plane and dimension to give us mortals a taste of what it is to see and hear through the eyes of the Gods

  • How happy you have made me! I'll listen to the rest later, but Astronomy Domine was enough to keep me ecstatic for a week! Loved the song/concept, and as a lad my mates and me used to improvise around this (along with Interstellar Overdrive and Set the Controls) for hours. And hours. We even did a few gigs like that, though shorter. People were more patient? forgiving? experimental? open-minded? back then. And you didn't need acid to get into it.
