It was so good to see David out from under the weight of the Pink Floyd behemoth, and just really enjoying himself and his amazing band. I read somewhere that David wasn't sure how audiences would respond to his solo tour. Based on the sell out crowds at both the concerts I attended, he had no reason to be concerned whatsoever!

    • (ya 2 yrs later) Like Lennon & McCartney it was Waters & Gilmour. Each has their own styles, which is rather different but together they meld VERY well. Roger was more in-depth lyrics, Dave great JAMS! 1983 PF got into a head-hole of what to do next. Following up on several masterful albums is one tall order. As PF they've pretty much milked near dry what they could from the 4.5 (.5 was Snowy White) in 20 years.

    • I bought this VHS in 1991 and discovered that Mick Ralphs ex Mott the Hoople and Bad Company guitar played the black and white Fender Stratocaster. Do you the fact I never heard of bad company until a year after I saw this concert on MTV I had no idea who is playing in this particular band. Overall this is my favorite David Gilmour concert ever because I love how make Ralph’s guitar playing gives the music more rock ‘n’ roll power. Meanwhile I wish this whole London concert along with the two videos blue light and All Lovers are Deranged and the 30 minute documentary Beyond the Floyd was officially available on DVD.

  • The evolution of his solo on Comfortably Numb is outstanding. Even back in that concert , his solo was already special. Like an old wine, he perfected that diamond for the next 40 years.

  • Ahhhh the 80s AND David Gilmour! What great times the 80s were. I miss them deeply. I was an 80s kid I have such great memories from that decade as well as the 90s. Seems like after 9/11 nothing was ever the same. Crisis after crisis the lunatics create.
