    • Huh? Decent song but did you like no punk or New Wave bands at all? Much of prog rock was up its navel. Not EVERYTHING was real. I mean, the Floyd are great but you're looking back and not forward.

      @BiffScooter1@BiffScooter19 ай бұрын
    • @@BiffScooter1 Sure, there are some gems from that time too. But most of these songs with their simple "hump-ta hump-ta" rhythms, their aggressive/frustrated screaming or simple "I love you so" stories are just boring. The same goes for the sterile synthy works. In the prog-rock era there were so many ingenious, complex compositions, concept albums where you could save yourself a visit to the cinema (e.g. "The Lamb lies Down"). Are there any albums left today at all or is there only tik tok compatible fast-food art left? Finally it comes down to personal taste. But for me, however modern music is mainly boring. Who still listens to or even knows e.g. Gangnam-Style or all the other silly hits with million of youtube clicks from just a couple of years ago?

    • @@anutosho1 Not really. The best period of music was the Big Band era of the 1940s. Glenn Miller orchestra. Now that was music!

      @2Uahoj@2Uahoj7 ай бұрын
    • @@anutosho1 - listen to Crown Lands' new album, Fearless. And seek out more music. Tom Morello's Atlas Underground projects are exceptional. There's always been fine music and trash, in every era. In my opinion, Lamb was not the greatest Genesis album and seemed to struggle with Gabriel's insistence on writing alone and the band coming apart at the seams. Selling England by the Pound (again, in my opinion) is the superior work and Trick of the Tail, Wind and Wuthering and Peter Gabriel's debut solo album are so much better than Lamb.

  • I’m 74 years old about to turn 75 in May. I grew up with the Rolling Stones Beatles Led Zeppelin and all the original 50s and 60s groups. But at this stage of my life, I think Pink Floyd is my favorite group. I remember listening to Pink Floyd smoking a joint in college in the 60s. And then in the 70s and medical school but I gravitated towards different groups over time, but to me, Pink Floyd is the most intellectual band. Not to diminish the Talking Heads or the Beatles. This particular song with David Gilmour extraordinaire and David Bowie singing is one of my favorites. I also love to listen to the pigs and the dogs. Unbelievable. So this is my favorite song. comfortably numb. Because I know so many people that are so wealthy in Coconut Grove Florida where I’ve lived the last 45 years and they are comfortably numb. I often send them the song and then respond to me. What are you trying to say. And I say to them you’re comfortably numb that’s the problem.

I hope that help my son David understand and start liking the other David.......cause I'm tired of listening David Bowie all day long......because of my 6 yr old....lol. thanks everyone for all your wonderful comments!!! Perhaps I should not share this with you but I'm afraid of fully discovering all of Bowie's songs...I don't know why I'm not trying to disrespect pink Floyd fans or value but I love Bowie!!!! I discovered him when covid hit me on 2020 my son discovered him through a kids cartoon movie I believe it was toy story or bus lighter...anyways again thnks for all your comments and cheers for the man that even at his deaths inspires us to live and to thrive on this world!!!
