On 2 July 2005 Pink Floyd performed at the London Live 8 concert with Roger Waters rejoining David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright. It was the quartet's first performance together in over 24 years - the band's last show with Waters was at Earls Court in London on 17 June 1981.

My 1st Pink Floyd Album was Wish You Were Here. I never bought dark side of the moon, but I met a girl who had it, so I married her.
You're a lucky man.
Seems a high price to pay for one album. Well, for Dark Side, maybe not.
That's a damn good reason to get married!!!
Well played, Chuck!🎸🌞
Chuck Carr dark side of the moon was the first one for me and I never let go 😎
I'm now 82 years old and listen to Pink Floyd most days and still enjoy every moment', like most people Dark side of the Moon is my favourite album.
io ho 78 anni e tutti i giorni li ascolto, tutti i giorni!!
I want Echoes to be the very last piece of music I ever hear.
FOR ME, DIVISION BELL
👍
I understand. I really really do. Carry on man! It's all good! Relive it all!
When Nick throws of the headphones it just showed how much these guys love their music, they set everything aside and crushed the best live performance of all time
If only they could get over their differences. But alas it is human nature. Alpha dogs are just that way. Nuff said
With all due respect, and I love Pink Floyd, I think the greatest live performance was Queen at Live Aid.

You chose to fight pointless wars for hawkish polticians. No one forced you. I hate when people act like they are so devastated after returning from a war that they signed up for fighting in the first place. That's like putting my hand in the meat grinder and then expecting people to feel sorry for me. Smh. If more people were like me wars wouldn't exist. I'll never thank any veteran for their service because doing so means I have to accept the premise of whatever war they fought in and the premises for all th US wars are of corporate nature. No thank you. I shake my head and think "how stupid ppl are to throw their lives away for a hawkish government". I was smarter than that. Fuck ears and fuck the military in every country. In 1971, I was 14 years old...happened the first time I heard Echoes...I was hooked. For me, they have been the greatest band ever since. Then at 16, Dark Side of the Moon came out. Beautiful story ad! Quite some years back I heard my son of early teens blaring Twisted Sister (or Bent Brother, not sure) from his bedroom through his new stereo (that's what we used to call them). I heard myself say, "What the hell is that noise? You can't even understand a word they're saying! I had a sudden flash that my father had said the same thing, and immediately realized that I had to do something. I grabbed "Dark Side of the Moon", headed down the hall and opened his door and said, "here, put this on!" He did. It was incredibly heart warming to realize that he fell in love with it. Yes, Pink Floyd has done wonderful things for this world...

When the wall came tumbling down and they all stood out in front David Gilmour looked into my eyes and said I love you!!! My favorite part is at 21:41 where you can see they move and lean together during that melodic drop in the solo. There's a reason why they all were in a band together.
That moment at the end when Waters beckons to Gilmour to come over and puts his arm around Gilmour's shoulders, and then the four stood together. It gave me chills.
Same here. I don't know why Waters and Gilmour until today they still remain kind of enemy. The reason why nobody knows.
There's too much bad blood between Waters and Gilmour for them to ever be friends again --- but at least they recognized the fans deserved to see one final "happy reunion"
What they don't show you, is that after that brief get together by all four, the other three of them shunned Waters completely and had their own group hug, so to speak - without Waters - and for much longer.
bingo

18:30 when nick mason removes his headphones to listen to Gilmour play that legendary solo unadulterated for one last time. Ugh my heart.
Yes I thought the same!!!
Gilmore’s guitar was too loud in his monitor, sorry to spoil the moment
@@militia814 hahaha
Abso-friggin'-lutely.
loved that bit :)
These guys are legends❤RIP Richard Wright 😢
In the 70s, I went to sleep many nights, listening to Pink FLoyd, with my headphones on. They're one of the best bands of all time, hands down.
Nick says 'Dammit I'm listening to this solo.' 18:30
Nice,👌😆
😄🤩 Yes, headphones out
Nick is the heart of the band 💯
I remember listening to Comfortably for the first time and the solos just made me cry
nice catch

Short concert 🤔
It should be pinned. Good work. Although, edit/delete the space between the ":" & 3 on Comfortably numb. It keeps it from making a timestamp link.

Im 47 and still pink floyd is the greatest band ever and will be. They are the Picasso of music. Prove me wrong.
Their creation of music, I could say it's genius. for me no other band could make what they did. Hall of fame.
Pink Floyd can take me out of the worst mood I've ever had. They are nearly hypnotic to me. Forever my favorite
Me to,,chill's
That's the word, hypnotic!
Me too. Pink Floyd always gets me jamming. Got to see them a few times over the years so I am grateful to have had that experience. Loved concerts in the pre cell phone era.
im a 14 yr old kid who has been brought up by my now passed dad listening to pink floyd and metallica and other bands alike . i have every pink floyd album on vinyl and listen to them . wish you were here brings a tear to my eye every time i hear it as me and my dad used to sing along to it whener it came on the radio , and now ive learnt it on guitar and play it on my acoustic at his grave . Also nick smiling and taking off his headphones to listen to gilmours masterpiece solo in comfortably numb is chilling . thanks for all the great memories you have given me to remember my dad with . LOVE YOU GUYS . LEGENDS THAT WILL NEVER DIE
I sent a cassette to my sister winter 82. Hope I didn’t, insult her with Shine On
Your dad was a good man I'm sure he'll be proud of you sounds like he taught you well so pass it on not enough love in this world
Never, never. NEVER...
Quel band tanks
Very cool take from a 14 year old - the world needs more people like you - I also picked up on the "Nick taking off his headphones" thing - nice observation.
Pink Floyd got me through Vietnam. Always gracious for them. 🙏👍❤️
30 years ago I was living in a squat, there were around 5 of us, all abusing heavy substances. Pink Floyd was all we played, oh! and Pat Benatar. Both bands were great to get high too. Six months later I left the squat, I wanted my old life back, the one where I had my own place, the one where I had a job, the one where I hadn't lost everything. After going cold turkey and restarting my life, I thought I'd never be able to really "hear" the magic that is Pink Floyd the way I heard it with drugs. I need not have worried, I purchased some headphones and listened to, "The Dark Side of the Moon", one night in semi-darkness, it was wonderful, if not more wonderful now my spirit was back on the right path. I wouldn't change my past for anything, it brought me to where I am today, I'm still listening to the magic that is, ✨️✨️"Pink Floyd"! ✨️✨️ with clarity. Apologies if this comment was a tad too long. 😬
I LOVE what you've written and I'm so happy you got your life back. 4 years sober here. We are ALL MIRACLES!!! Love and Light💖
Much love and light right back to you. 🧡💛 ☺️
Spent 32 years in the music industry and some of them high on heroin and opium no cocaine hcl. then methadone a number of years ago have a medical scientist background clinical pathology B.S. Chemistry and a M.S Applied Physics and Engineering still working at 73
Now that's what truth and absolute honesty and hope sounds like. Atta boy
beautiful comment spot on about "spirit back on the right path"
Probably the best 24:01 minutes of all You tube...
Agreed
Wish they had played for an hour
Probably? More like Definitely!
Let’s not forget echoes at Pompeii.
@@thegoodguy44 Wish they had played the whole Dark Side of the Moon album
Tears in my eyes everytime I watch this. I’ll never understand why they couldn’t find back together again. But then, maybe that’s how it was meant to be. This 20min concert is for eternity.
Love Pink Floyd. Grew up listening to them in the early 70's and still listen to them daily. Was fortunate enough to see them at Wembley and can say it is probably the greatest concert I've ever been to. Introduced my son to David's music very early because it was always playing in the car. Was a great influence on him learning to play the guitar. Wished they could have resolved their differences and continued as Pink Floyd
"... the child has grown, the dream is gone" That single phrase brings me to tears... they will never be equalled. How lucky we were to live in the same generation as the Floyd.
Not as lucky as the ones who lived in the same generation of Beethoven...
@@DaniloMongiovi nah fam
So true, they are our generation Beethovens.
There's a brilliant version of Comfortably Numb that Waters and Company played at the Berlin Wall when it was brought down. Van Morrison, Joni Mitchell, and Levon Helm join in, but it's Van The Man who stirs the soul like no other. There's a DVD of the whole show, but I think this particular number may be on KZhead. Check it out.
yes, the tears have released the emotion that anchored us to the past and now our dreams with courage have found us again bringing us to our spiritual path manifesting our divine plan and sacred mission that brings Heaven to Earth finding and becoming Love...……….only Love and we are going HOME...…...with peaceful and giving hearts...….
Listening to them as a teen, discovering who they were as a young adult, and rediscovering it all over again as a senior. Cheers KZhead!
Muy buen tema

I know! It's the coolest treat!!
Seeing Pink Floyd live in San Francisco and Oakland was amazing
@@acidheadzzz Yep !
Greatest band in the history of music. Hail Pink Floyd
I was blessed to hear them many times. Thank you Pink Floyd.
I am a die hard pink floyd fan and when my wife 2 tickets to this concert I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Morning of the show my daughter said she wanted to go so I gave her my ticket. I watched it on TV and when pink floyd came on I cried my eyes out for not being there
Small price to pay to see your daughter happy! Kind regards from BC
Good man
I love my daughters too.
You are an amazing man. X
Gift of a lifetime ✨️
I would pay anything to see them play together just one more time.
Sadly Richard died in 2009 I do believe
So would I. Was deeply saddened when Rick passed away. Knowing then, my dream will forever never happen. At least we all got their tremendous catalog we can listen too. But still...

Thank you for the joy you gave us
All three of my children love Pink Floyd... 24, 16, and 15. As the Floyd won't ever tour again for various reasons, I have resolved to take them to see Brit Floyd at some point. Closest thing to the real thing.
This is real music That never will die It's for all generations to come and enjoy
All music is real music. Stop invoking your own version of the true Scotsman fallacy. And newer generations won't get into Pink Floyd for the sake reasons you didn't get into 1600s church music. You didn't grow up with it. You think pink Floyd is true music and for generations to come because that's how you feel. But if we could ask someone from the past they would miss the music they grew up with the same way you'll miss Pink Floyd.

I don't usually get very emotional, but comfortably numb moves me to tears, unbelievable piece of music.
I cried while listening to (and singing along with) "Wish You Were Here", and that is something to which I would not normally admit, since I am the Alpha Male of All Alpha Males.
I think of dear friend that is not with as any more Wishes you where here bri go me to tears
a few songs gives me chills, a few bring tears but i think the 2nd solo in comfortably numb is the first guitar solo to bring me tears. it's as close to perfect as music can get
@@rickwagner3797agree! So moving
@@rickwagner3797 I agree. This is as close to perfection as you can get within music.
Ese concierto fue mágico pues todos sabíamos que no se iba a repetir. Gracias por tanto Pink floyd
Si estuviste ahí, que emoción y privilegio.
Anyone else discovere pink floyd the same night they met LSD? I did. I remember it like yesterday. I was 15 and it was 1989. What a night!
Really nice to see Waters passion for the words when Gilmour is singing. And Gilmour sings just like the record at his age. Fair play to them.
POLI KALA STA ELINIKA.
I first hear Pink Floyd when I was 12 yrs old cruising in a impala o f their 8 track. Now I'm 60 and understand why those times are so remembered. Rollie
