Then he also coached Andre Agassi and he became the oldest number 1 during that time. In this match, Sinner played like Hewitt on defense and played like Agassi on offense. That's how to beat Djokovic by giving him a dose of old school tennis.

    • Just read that Novak had a flu lingering in him. He was sick. But it was his over-confidence caused his downfall in what supposed to be his 25th Grand Slam. He engaged himself in too many activities, for example, running the Djolovic Charity Event. He ran himself down, perhaps fatigue and stress which led to flu -he could only take so much and his body's immunity was weak. Off-focused and worn-out. He himself had to blame for his loss. Results: Unforced errors start piling up in a hurry. Not to mention it took Sinner 2 full sets to 'drop' his level even a little. Kind of reminds me of Prime Del Potro at the US open, how fluid he moved, defended, and the depth of his groundstrokes. The fact that he kept his cool and didn't mentally succumb makes Sinner a Truly Rare player in the last 20 years.

  • Sinner didn’t just win, he won with an ! A message not only to the Great Djokovic but the tennis world. There’s a new sheriff in town and he literally has the big guns to back it up He is the player to beat. IMO He was missing the focus and mental discipline that separates the greats from the good. But as of late end of 2023 until now he is razor sharp focused on another playing field His coaching teams needs a shout out as well. It must be quite challenging to take on an already highly talented and athletic individual like Sinner to an even higher level of play & have him dictate his victories the way he’s been against an abundance of talented and high caliber players in the circuit. Tbh, I’ve never like so many players at once lol. They come to play and put in the work where sometimes is hard to route for one or the other. This pool of players rn is the reason I’m following tennis again ❤ I knew he was going to be one of the greats but this is huge. My fav player on the circuit and a beast on the court. The fact that he is a genuinely respectful to the game and his opponents no matter the outcome speaks volumes of his character and is nice to see them take down the big tournaments from their hard work and commitment. But win or lose the respect and professionalism will not be compromised. That is easier said than done but not impossible. Props to his parents and the person he is growing into right now. Don’t let his humble demeanor fool anyone and should not be mistaken for weakness because he is a relentless beast on the court and mercy will not be given until victory is his. Lol
