Woodturning - 4 Months of Work! Was it Worth it?!

After the immensely positive response from the first watch box video I just had to make another, my plan for this mini-series is to make the box reflect the piece that is inside of it. I just love the loom of my Christopher Ward Moonglow and wanted to replicate the stunning stars but give it a planetary twist.
The main body of the watch box is made from Rippled Ash, with a connecting piece of London Plane.
The three planets on the lid of the box, from largest to smallest are made from, Ziricote, Spalted Box, and Pau Rosa. Each of these woods brings a unique tone and each is rare and special in its own right.
The woods have all been sanded to 10000 grit and finished with Danish Oil, and sanding sealer (on some)

And Yes, I'm aware that wearing gloves while woodturning is considered an unsafe practice. The gloves I wear are tight-fitting and don’t have any loose threads. I wear them for the protection of my skin. This is a risk that I am willing to take, however I am still very conscious of the potential danger and I do not touch any spinning parts of the lathe.   • Nice work, I just see one big mistake in the finish - before gluing the 3 wooden "planets" on the lid of the etui you should have renewed the black varnish in the drilled beds for them - this way the exposed wall of the underlying wood "shines" along the edges ...
