  • Old school football watchers from Brazil call the knuckle ball, done masterfully by Juninho Pernambucano, "dry leaf". It was a skillset highly associated with Didi, a player from 50's and 60's. You can look it up by searching for "folha seca Didi". Also, Ronaldo Fenomeno's move has a stationary version, which we call "pedalada" (peddleling) and was associated with Robinho, a player who didn't shine in Europe. Not correcting anyone, just adding something from Brazil.

    • ...and it's not true that the kicker generates the ball movement. The ball is hit so as to not spin after it's been struck. It will then move in the air if it encounters turbulance. All it takes is one pocket of dirty air and the ball will change it's direction slightly, enough to make a keeper clueless as to where it will end up.
