    @keanadianne@keanadianne9 жыл бұрын
    • smile4smiles I try to be open minded and nonjudgmental but your statement just comes across as super transphobic and hateful to me. Does it matter how she was born? She IS happy with her gender. And she IS androgynous, (AS IF IT EVEN MATTERS) she has intentionally kept her male voice incredibly male sounding, she doesn't go around wearing pink dresses and flowers in her hair. Androgyny can be expressed and embodied so many different ways, your blanket statements sound ignorant. I don't even think this song is about literal androgyny, I think it's about anyone who has a thing about them. You got a boob job? Cool, we don't care. Sex change? Cool, we don't care. Dude who wears skirts? Cool. Smoke a lot of pot? Cool. Tattoos? Cool. You're Laura Jane Grace? Cool. Super cool actually.

  • Androgynous" Here comes Dick, he's wearing a skirt Here comes Jane, y'know she's sporting a chain Same hair, revolution Same build, evolution Tomorrow who's gonna fuss And they love each other so Androgynous Closer than you know, love each other so Androgynous Don't get him wrong and don't get him mad He might be a father, but he sure ain't a dad And she don't need advice that's sent at her She's happy with the way she looks She's happy with her gender Mirror image, see no damage See no evil at all Kewpie dolls and urine stalls Will be laughed at The way you're laughed at now Now, something meets boy, and something meets girl They both look the same They're overjoyed in this world Same hair, revolution Unisex, evolution Tomorrow who's gonna fuss And tomorrow Dick is wearing pants And tomorrow Janie's wearing a dress Future outcasts and they don't last And today, the people dress the way that they please The way they tried to do in the last centuries

  • Always loved this song. My mom played it for me because my grandmother's brother became a sister in the 50's. I met her during a funeral and she was making a fuss about whether to wear a dress or a suit-ended up wearing a suit. Always amazes me how a song can move you and humanizes us all. Just a simple person living life the way she saw herself in a tiny town in Japan. My grandmother, her sister and my mother all passed away now. I still keep them in my heart. The irony is that my mother did make up on Joan Jett once. Didn't know she covered this song! Thank you!

  • I was excited for Joan Jett LOL But IDK I WAS SURPRISED at how happy this trio made me. I really like the fact that Laura Jane Grace didn't change anything about herself and just SAID she was female, because maybe that means we can look forward to blurring the line between genders so that classic 'femininity' isn't associated with females, and classic 'masculinity' doesn't have to be associated with males. This is great :D
