That's not something Miley in particular does wrong, that's just how the industry is. She's absolutely a good role model, because she is all about acceptance, love and equality. She doesn't tell her fans that they should all smoke weed and dance around in their underwear. She simply says that that's what she wants to do, so she does that, because she's in charge of her own life and her own body, and so should everyone else be.

I met Laura once in Belfast and she was the most lovely person, as were the rest of Against Me! I was only 17 but had a ticket to their gig. I didn't get in as I was under age. They sneaked me in the back door with them and even though I got kicked out again 2 mins later, I thought that was just really sweet of them. I love this

I'm having a horrible night and I'm crying and scratching my eyes out. This video gives me hope. I'm trans masculine agender. I'm not understood an not accepted. This. This is gold. Fuck everything else. Update eight months later: I'm doing okay. Soon I'll start my medical transition and I feel like I have a future and I feel a lot happier than before. Now I have a lot of people who understand me and I am accepted. This is still pure gold.

While I obviously would prefer people accepted us all along, when you're trying to make the world a safer place for a historically marginalized group "Better late than never" works just fine.

Shoutout to the kid I babysat who showed me this song. It led to me listen to Against Me! and I'll forever be grateful for that - the Transgender Dysphoria Blues album got me through high school. This band is also one of the two folkpunk bands I first listened to! This song, and specifically this cover, will forever be so fucking important to me. And I know neither of the artists will ever see this but... Thank you.

And she has recorded her own album but has said she doesnt intend on having it out this year. She wants it to supress Bangerz and she knows that will take time. I CANT WAIT EITHER!

This song and performance are so good it's easy to miss details as just how good those drums are. Incredible performance all around, and that second verse gets me every single time. I've never heard anyone so accurately sum up how I feel with so few words.
This song is so uptempo, but there's so much pain in this song. Laura Jane Grace sings about suicide, and it's so true. Transexual people have the highest rate of suicide of any group in our society. Why does it have to be this way?. God loves transexual people just as much as anyone else and he wants to give them his peace. . I believe that God sees transexuals as the gender they identify with, because when God looks at us he doesn't look at our body, he looks at our Spirit. I think part of the conflict is that society rejects transexuals and we need to embrace them. I know there is a lot of inner conflict going on as well. I think songs like this help by pointing out the reality that is happening in the transgender community. I want to listen to more of Laura Jane Grace's songs that deal with Transgender issues. I know she and her band did a whole c.d. about transgender issues. I want to see if there is more hope in the songs. Hope is what we all need. Thanks Laura Jane Grace for what you are doing not just for the Transgender community but for all of us to make us aware of what it is like to be transgender, We can't actually know, but we can live it vicariously through your songs. Thank You

I wish more believers felt this way about God’s opinion of trans people. I’m a Christian and I hate seeing other Christians hate on trans people, because they completely miss the point of Christ’s ministry. I see the 41% trans suicide statistic often cited as a reason why transitioning is bad for someone suffering from gender dysphoria, but the same study that gave us that 41% statistic goes on to say that that percentage drops drastically when trans people are in an environment that at least isn’t hostile toward their very existence. I wish people would realize that. God bless.

Even though she is famous, she still deals with the same problems every other young adult faces. The kind of music she decides to perform is completely up to her. If you don't like it, just don't listen. Focus your energy on a new hobby; instead of criticizing celebrities on every little thing they do.

Think these two artists have very much in common with each other. Both made changes in their life that they needed and in a way, you can see it when they preform here and how they look eachother, because they Kinda understand what the other one is going through. It is very encouraging to see people standing up for the right thing, because being true to yourself is the only true liberty you have in your life.
