Jim, I don't work with wood, and I know so little about woodturning. I watch this channel because watching woodturning is very relaxing for me. I come back to your channel so much more than other woodworkers because your passion for what you do is infectious. I feel a great appreciation for the when you leave in the errors and work around them. It's a reminder that mistakes aren't the end, they are what make you better at what you do. You're like the Bob Ross of woodturning. Thanks for the weekly videos!
Wow, thank you!
Well said! And i echo your thoughts!
Yes, exactly that!
I know a little about wood but I watch for the same reason!!!
Jim, this piece is simply beautiful, I love the form, the inlay… wow… the wood… 🤩
Good morning. Congratulations to Jim's son and his new bride.
Thank you very much!
The grain on that bowl is absolutely stunning! I thought I'd miss the use of the designer epoxy, but this wood needs no embellishments. Gorgeous piece.
Thank you very much!
Congratulations on the marriage of your son and his bride 🎉
Thank you very much! 😊😊
You're absolutely right, you can't go wrong with walnut and cherry. Another amazing piece and although I love the epoxy it's always nice to see some 'traditional' turning especially when it turns out like this. Enjoy your son's wedding, it's always a proud & somewhat sad day seeing your children take that final step towards independence/adulthood. Congratulations to your son and new daughter-in-law.
Couldn't agree more! Thanks
Wow that cherry is so beautifully shimmery! I think the contrast between the 2 woods and the inlay elevate it from a seemingly simple design to something quite special. And a beautiful shape, thanks Jim. So many congratulations to you this week, I hope it is forever in your greatest highlights reel of memories! 100k subscribers AND your son's wedding, with an exciting house build and move in the not-too-distant future, I hope you feel wonderful and I hope all of your life is bringing you great joy right now! Very best wishes to you and the family this weekend 🎉
Thank you very much! I really appreciate it!
I hope your son will have a wonderful marriage for his entire life. Thanks for the video. Such a beautiful bowl. I received my first order from Designer Epoxy with the credit, extra colors and free shipping. The order came sooo fast. Now I need to find the courage to use it.
Wonderful! Go for it! Thanks
I keep KZhead running all night. When i went ti bed you were at 109K, at 110K when I woke up. Congratulations Jim!
Thank you very much! I really appreciate it!
This bowl is absolutely gorgeous! The different colors in the wood and the defined veins makes this bowl stand out!! Great job!! Bravo!
Thank you so much 😀
What a sweet bowl! From the thumbnail I wasn’t expecting it to be as big as it is. Congratulations on reaching 100,000 subscribers and on your son’s marriage. Enjoy the festivities.
Thank you so much!
Thank you for preparing this video so that we could get our weekly dose of Sprague medication! I hope the wedding was a blessing to all. You've mentioned a couple times showing your sons how to work on the lathe, and I'm sure you're very proud of them. I hope you know that the must be proud of their dad as well because he is a great guy!! Thanks as always, Jim.
We certainly are, thanks!
You are truly "livin' the dream"! Turning another gorgeous bowl, hitting 100k subs, son getting married, etc.. Congratulations! Well done Jim, keep up the great work. Designer Epoxy

Thank you very much!
This bowl turned out beautifully. I believe that bowl was sitting around waiting for you to choose the right wood for it’s top. You made an excellent choice, these 2 woods go beautifully together & I love the decision you made for with having the inlay to be Mother of Pearl. I’m sure you will have a fabulous time at your son & new daughter-in-law’s wedding. Make sure to have a dance with your new daughter-in-law. Oh I almost forgot Congrats on get 100K in subscriber’s. What a weekend of celebration’s you are having. Have a wonderful time!
Thank you very much!
Tell your son and new daughter-in-law congratulations!🎊🎉🍾
Thank you! Will do!
Congratulations on 100,000! Beautiful, useful piece!

"The Bob Ross Of Woodturning." I was wondering how I could articulate that you could obtain a million subs. There you have it, Jim.
Thank you very much!
The next milestone is 100,005. I am sure you will get it. Happy wedding. And as always great show.
Thank you very much!
Designer Epoxy Sandpaper Omg I love this dish. It's stunning. When I read the title I knew I'd like it. Thank you for always making quality, thoughtful content. I wish all the best to your kiddo getting married.

Beautiful bowl and wood combo. Enjoy your day tomorrow at your son's wedding.
Thank you, I will
The walnut and cherry go well together. The mother of pearl is great accent.
Indeed, thanks!
So three things to celebrate this week - a beautiful bowl, your son's wedding and 100K subscribers! Congrats, I love watching your channel. :)
Thank you so much!
My mother sends her congratulations on your big milestone. She’s been watching since you had about 30,000 subscribers. She really enjoys watching you. Her only complaint is that you only have one episode a week 😊
Wow, thank you!
That chatoyance is amazing. The contrasting colors of wood and inlay really set this off! Enjoy the wedding and thanks once again!
Thank you very much!
Congratulations Jim! Both on 100k and on your son's wedding. What a week!
Thanks so much!
Congrats for your son's wedding. I liked this bowl. The two tones of the wood really compliment each other.
Thank you very much!
Dear Jim, may you and your family have great time this week end. Congratulation to the newlywed. For your work, it is so nice to see you create something different every week. Thank you for your vision.
Many thanks!
I'm in love with the cherry. Gorgeous work again. Hope your son has a fantastic wedding.
He did, thanks!
Simply awesome. What a combination, cherry and walnut, and the Mother of Pearl is the perfect accent. WOW
Thanks
My husband and I watch you every week!
Thank you very much!
0940: Exquisite bowl and lid. I hope everything goes well with the wedding. Remember to breathe.
Thank you very much!
Hi Jim, I do not turn wood but I just love watching people perform their craft. It is such a pleasure to watch you create beautiful pieces, especially with resin. Dan Pearce is another wood turner that uses resin in his work and he is awesome too. I will always enjoy watching you create your masterpieces. Cheers from, Gina Mac of Queensland, Australia. 😊❤️🙏🇦🇺
Thank you very much!
Such a beautiful fininshed piece! The inlay was perfect for that piece. Blessings to the newly married couple.
Thank you so much!
I've been watching your channel for about a year now and wanted to help you get over the 100K mark. Congrats on finally getting there! I appreciate that you show your full process from choosing your wood outside, to how you process your wood to get it ready as well as the steps, hits, and misses along the way. I have learned a lot about wood turning, as well as using epoxy , through watching your channel.
Thanks so much!!
You can't beat cherry for color. I like the contrast of the walnut and the inlay.
Me too, thanks!
I love the shape and the fit. I always like when there is enough wood on the lid to encorporate the know. Can’t wait for the designer epoxy and sandpaper give away! Congrats on the wedding of your son.
Thank you very much!
You are very welcome! I just wish I hadn't finished watching all of your old videos. Now I have to wait for a new one each week.
You're the best! Thanks
Very chic. I love how you took a bowl that had "moved" and turned it into such an elegant piece of work/art.
Thank you very much!
Jim I enjoy watching your videos it helps with my mental condition and I learn about wood I can't turn anymore due to arthritis and fibyromlia. The Cherry bowl is lovely it's got nice grain and its got nice colours in it. I love the Mother of Pearl inlay in the walnut lid which has got great grain. Magnificent and unique bowl. Congratulations on getting to 100,000 and on your sons marriage. Thanks for a great video. Amanda xx
Glad it helps you. Thank you very much!
Yes, I really enjoy watching your videos. I try to watch all your videos, I may try my hand at it when I stop Driving Big Trucks. You never know. Cherry and Walnut really go well together, nice touch with the Mother of pearl. Beautiful Lidded bowl. Great job. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🥸😎
Please do! Thanks for watching!
Perfect contrast with the walnut, cherry and mother of pearl. Love this piece.
Thank you very much!
Another beautiful piece Jim thank you for sharing!! Congrats to your son and I hope you and your family have a wonderful day for the wedding
Thank you kindly
Beautiful. Congratulations on hitting 100k! And gaining a daughter! May life keep you in happiness.
Thank you so much!
Jim, I LOVE that this looks like an Acorn!!!! How freaking cute is this!? And that iridescent sheen of the cherry wood is mesmerizing! I really hope you use that wood again some time soon. CONGRATULATIONS on 100k subscribers! Designer Epoxy Sandpaper Can't wait to see you hit 200k! I hope your son's wedding is wonderful and they enjoy the salt and pepper grinders!
Thanks so much!
The mother of pearl inlay is such a nice touch.
Thank you very much!
Fabulous bowl, Jim. The way the 2 colours of wood work together is perfect and the MoP inlay really sets it off. BTW... Don't sell yourself short, man! You may not get to 1 million subs, but if you can get to 100k in 3 years there's no reason why you can't get to 200 or even 250k. There are now more of us who subscribe, comment and share every week so you may well see a faster increase in subs! Regardless, you've reached a major landmark, so CONGRATULATIONS!!
Agreed, thanks!
Congratulations to your son and family! Blessings to the newlyweds!! I think we need to start a "Million For Jim" campaign!! Congrats on 100k! Sandpaper 😁 The MoP sure pops on the lid. 👏👏👏
Great idea!! Lol. Thanks
It’s Awesome that you take the time and read your comments. Thank-you for the Great Work that you Do.
My pleasure!
Beautiful bowl, congrats to the bride and groom.
Thank you kindly!
I love the walnut and cherry together, adding the inlay just puts it over the top. Beautiful piece.
Thank you very much!

Not a chance, haha. Thanks
This covered bowl came out great, Jim! Enjoy the wedding.
Thanks! Will do!
Beautiful piece. Have fun at the wedding. Designer Epoxy
Thank you, I will
Oh my stars, that cherry is just gorgeous. The figures in the chatoyance are amazing--almost like vertical tiger stripes. The inlay turned out beautifully. All in all, just wonderful bowl! Thank you, Jim!
Thank you so much!
Hi Jim!! Wedding and kids? I got very emotional with mine so, congratulations !! And well .....ya that other part of watching your babies make the next adventure in their life that you can't wait to watch happen as well as that feeling that they need you less. So yes sir!! Congratulations!! I reached out to Gabe this week because I am trying the deep cast for the first time. (Thank you for the discount). I know he reached out to you with a couple questions I had and thank you for responding so quickly. I could not get the temperature up to above 83° F. At the 6 hour mark, I poured into my form. (Sapelle and white oak) put one last pass through to blend color and it held. I pulled it out of the form this morning and turned it. I was also doing a copper inlay in the rim. I left it for a couple hours to go to my granddaughters soccer game and came back. The bowl moved so much I just sanded and will put a finish on tomorrow. Do you find that your pieces move more after turning with the deep cast? I cannot recall having so much movement before. I also should add that this wood was less than 8% moisture and dimensional cut lumber. I know your busy but if you have a minute. I'd like to know your thoughts. I think I'll call Gabe Monday or Tuesday. He was very helpful by the way and I am so thankful for his and yours quick response.
Weird, sometimes there’s built up tension in the wood and when it’s turned it finally relaxes. As long as it’s dry, ordinary it doesn’t move all that much. The epoxy has nothing to do with this movement. What kind of meter are you using? Thanks
Congrats to your son. You must be proud
We certainly are. Thanks!
@@SpragueWoodturning my daughter got married in December in Carleton county my son in the Bellisle not far from Gagetown

Beautiful bowl. The black walnut and cherry together is awesome.
Thank you very much!
sandpaper I Like that one Jim. Nice to see one without epoxy. My shops in my basement so I tend to stay away from it. To me turning is a hobby and want to keep it that way so 99% of my stuff gets given away to friends and family. Watch nearly all your videos for inspiration.
Thanks 👍
Congratulations on 100k and to your son on his wedding day. God bless
Thank you so much!
