    • what makes it harder than olympics?

      @TheXxakemxX@TheXxakemxXАй бұрын
    • @@TheXxakemxX Several things. Its a 3 day tournament where you have to make weight every day after wrestling, except the last day. The tournament is also in folkstyle where as olympics is is freestyle/greco. Folkstyle is much more demanding for several reasons. Folkstyle is 7 mins, FS/GR is 6mins with a 30 sec break in between the 2 periods. In Folkstyle you also have to hold your opponent down and also know how to get away(which is extremely exhausting). FS/GR mainly takes place on the feet, when a takedown happens the top guy try to turn the opponent past at least 90° to get rewarded with "exposure" points, the bottom guy will just stall out waiting for the ref to stand it back up, but half the time its usally end up as another 5 sec break for each wrestler. Folkstyle is continuous, if you get taken down youre immediately trying to escape and if youre the top guy you typically try to hold your opponent down and turn them, but unlike FS/GR you have to hold your opponent past 45° for at least 2 secs to get "exposure" points.

  • I remember when the UFC had a fight card in Fresno. We got to the stadium at 5 pm and didn't leave until 10 pm. Just as a fan, it's a long time, but to do commentating sober is bananas. If you're doing something you love to do, the time flies, and the energy is easy to maintain.

  • Male wrestlers will NEVER compete with female wrestlers. But this NBA era is the LeBron James Era. Three-point shooting is more exciting than dunking. Women are closer today than ever to playing in the actual NBA Regular Season. This is how soft this era is. The new event at this year’s All-Star weekend where he beat her by only 3-points, plus the All-Star game disaster, points to would-be WNBA players playing in the actual NBA, which was impossible in the 1990s. 🤦‍♂️
