Duckling thinks Baby Swan is her Mom

A Duckling had just hatched in my incubator when I got a call. A one day old Swanling needed my care. How the baby duck reacted to the baby swan was a big surprise, even to me after decades of raising baby birds.

    • So Cute awww. But that would actually be quite normal in waterfowl. While swans and most types of ducks choose a specific partner to mate with ducks and swans live in flocks and never leave thier flockmates behind. They always stay in the same pond close by. I've even seen different types and species of ducks form friendships between eachother and I've even seen little ducks befriend huge Canada geese and be welcome in thier flock. I'm sure this swan and duck will be best friends swimming and flying together for life, so sweet awww

  • I remember when I saw your first video years ago. I did lose track for a while with all of the political drama, but I needed a happy break and this fits the bill. I cry when I see how beautiful nature is and how you foster the development of poor, parentless animals. The swan and the duck story would make a beautiful children’s book. Are your daughters interested? I’m so glad you are still here with your beautiful videos. I hope you continue for many years to come.
