Ice Tragedy Turns Into Bird Family Rescue
When winter hit The Netherlands swift and hard, within one night canals were frozen. Birds, especially ones that originate from the Nile in Egypt, don't really understand what's happening, so a fatal mistake is easily made... And the ducklings born that morning wouldn't see the next day if I would not interfere.

Can't be much of an animal rescue service if they just give up. Clearly shows they don't _actually_ give a fuck about the animals. If they did they'd have fought tooth and nail to save them. Bunch of phoneys if you ask me lol
@@KissMyFatAxe It's not that they're less than but they're on the clock and being paid tax payer dollars. They're jobs are to acquire the animals and then hand them off to a shelter or sanctuary who will treat/save the animals. Which are often very few amd far between. They probably contacted him, explained they had exhausted all of their options and needed to move on to other calls since the odds of rescue were low and the chances of dad taking over as mom were also slim to none. They cared but they needed to move on. No one goes into that line of work for the money.

It was absolutely heartbreaking to see the mama goose trapped under the ice, deceased, and her mate and children not wanting to leave the spot and anxiously walking to and fro on the ice above the spot where she was. Poor, poor birdies.
This dude is literally a saint. But the saddest part is, geese mate for life and are known to become depressed when they lose part of their family or their mate.
I know I Pray he was a young goose snd found a mate
Well luckily Egyptian geese are actually a species of duck and they arent known to mate for life or be as attached to their mates as true geese. He will most likely be fine but could be hard for him to find a new mate, this isnt their natural range and it was probably a pair someone released at the park.

@The Moth that's true, I live in the same country as him, I once saw an injured chick, I immediately took her home. She couldnt move anymore and was freezing to death. I did that with my pet rat. I hid her in my jacket, went to the local Walmart, bought some almonds, paid for them, went outside, And felt like a smuggler of rattos

This guy is always willing to help animals and he’s so caring and generous and I only have 3 years of saving animals and I started saving animals and I started because my rabbit died when I was 5 and still cry for my rabbit

I can commit to $2.18 a month to help this man save animals. When I am able I would like to do more. But I can do this right now. This is a good start. 💖 Edit: It's actually $1.99. The rest is just tax. But that's okay. The animals need his help. And he deserves to follow his life's dream to help them. I'm happy to do my small part to help support him.
