Surprising Bird Release Takes Unexpected Turn
If you were a bird, what would you do?
This was last year's most-liked video by our Patrons and the KZhead memberships community. Remember those baby goslings that we saved from the ice last winter? Well, after 5 months they were strong enough to be safe on their own. So it was time for their release, which took some surprising turns...
I hope you'll love it as much as I did. These are the best days when taking care of animals!
For those of you that have already seen it... you are making a difference in my life. Since you have started to support me, I have been able to help more animals and make more videos than I have in the 4 previous years combined. Without your help, it would just not have been possible to do this. Thank you so much.

I love how they weren't even panicking in the cage as he was transporting them. Shows how much they trust him. They're more like "hmm this feels familiar."
True
They weren’t panicking more like a scared “ayo wtf are you doing to us?”
Yes
They were totally cool with him hanging out near them too, such trust
What a wonderful person! He works hard for months, and finds the perfect place to release them!!
I cried when he released them and said “you are my friends”
Me too
Adorable
Same! That made my day, it was so pure and sweet!
I'm crying on almost every video on this channel🥺 this is just insane how touching it is, all of it!
I love his joy with them.
I released my ducks too. Everyone said no don't do it, they won't survive. They did survive and live there for years and they had babies. I visited them often, which was a lot of fun as the remembered me and went crazy when I pulled up in my car. The babies got to know me too. This went on for years. The best memories we seeing them swim off together on the lake and meeting the babies for the first time. I knew I'd done a good job and listened to my intuition. Well done my friend. You did a great job too.
how are they doing? are they still ok after all this time?
Do not dump domestic animals into the wild, wtf?
i'd like to see if you have videos, too.
@@elenas6304 yeah? Why shouldn’t they? What do u know since ur such an expert. I mean, they did say it’s going well :/
@@Catapultdragondude most likely the people who didn't want them to release the ducks either thought 1. they are domesticated which can't survive on the wild without human assistance or 2. it is not native to the area they live in and releasing the ducks might be invasive to the environment. The guy being concerned on the release has their rights to be worried tho

No one likes to be caged....
At first I thought they just took off like see ya buddy haha . I had two snapping turtles from babys when I let them go they never even looked back .
@@docreyaz2370 actually meney animal will go into a cage at dusk knowing full well that the door will be locked in the morning, because it is much safer inside the cage. infact I have seen chickens running for the cage or Coupe when they see a raptor ( bird of pray ) flying overhead. Releasing animals back into nature, is rewarding. Geese in particular, form attachments to Humans they trust, and can be quite affectionate. Well done brother.

Dumb geese get shot by hunters and eaten by predators. Conserve yes,.....rehab no. You make them not afraid of humans. Humans = Food.... Nature selected them to go. Stop playing god. Sanctuary yes if they're endangered or injured by man. Stop me when I'm wrong.....

If you where then why are you happy that a non-native species is being released? That is a species of larger duck that comes from Africa named the Egyptian goose (nope it’s not a goose), it breeds throughout the year and therefore overpopulates rapidly.

With as much joy as you've brought to us, we should be thanking YOU. You're a bright light in an often dark world.
As an animal lover and sensitive person I can say this man is a WONDER. GREATEST EXAMPLE OF HUMAN KINDNESS. He knows stress is the killer of rescued animals - especially birds. He makes the transition from their enclosure to the transfer cage as calmly - patiently and as stress free as possible. It looks simple but let me point out a few things. He lets them take their time with gentle arms out moving forward so no one panics -- no one flutters and gets a wing hurt on the enclosure. Keeps them together = makes them feel the safest when in a group. People who know and love animals do things in a very well thought out way when rescuing, caring and releasing. That is what makes them expert at what they do with great results and with as little stress on the animals as possible for ultimate best chance of survival after release. xoxoxoxoxo from the USA

The most generous heart, the kindest and most caring support for these beautiful animals. Thank you for all you do. You have made so many lives better. The lives of 2 and 4 legged ! ☺️❤️🙏🏻
When he first released them, they promptly returned "home" as that was what was familiar, squawking loudly as if to say "Why did you take us away from our home with you where all our needs are cared for?!" Over time no doubt they will learn to savor being back in a more natural environment... but perhaps come to greet him when he visits--& eventually bring their offspring to meet him & his offspring! It's such a beautiful thing when people can be a "bridge" for dislocated animals back to their rightful place in nature, & do so with such tender gentleness to minimize their trauma. Thank you again, Alwyn... & thanks also to his community & every other around the world that takes active steps to rewild land wherever possible, as a "springboard" for many different species' reestablishment.
