Nero was raised with love and care by Kyrie and Credo. He basically knew what it was like to have a family that love him. Dante and Vergil lost their mother and father at a young age. They distanced themselves from the world for different reasons. Dante possibly felt everything he touched would die and Vergil felt humanity as a whole was weak (Emotions and such). Nero had morals and integrity. He didn't want to lose anyone not even the family he never knew. Truth strength comes from within and Nero embodies that
Everything that sparda stood for. No power for himself, nor a higher purpose. But for those he loves most, even at the cost of his life.
@@haremfanatic1014 Or at the expense of being branded as a traitor by his kind
Seriously got to love the Sparda family and the ideals they encompass. It's pretty damn inspiring.
I love how this game, and this scene in particular, solidifies that not only is Nero a perfect successor to the sons of Sparta, but also somewhat surpasses them, balancing both his human and demon sides. While Dante has compassion and people he cares for, his life is still a lonely mess. Meanwhile, Nero has found someone to fight for in Kyrie who will keep him grounded and is his emotional anchor. All Dante has is a broken woman with father issues, a weird doppelgänger of his mom, and a brother whom he has a love/hate relationship with. And unlike his father, Nero wasn’t corrupted by the pursuit of power. He always remembers what he’s fighting for no matter how strong he got. As Kyrie said, he always knows what the right path is. The kid’s won me over on being the new poster boy of DMC.
@@christianyoung9808 That’s exactly how I’ve come to think about this. Nero had a solid foundation, unlike his father and uncle, and the results speak for themselves. At the same time, as I thought back on this series, I realized something…pretty darkly. When you take away the wisecracks, sarcasm of 90% of the cast, and the genuine moments of love and heroism, DMC can be…quite sad. All of the main characters were either orphaned or grew out of broken homes, and they’re in a world where they’re constantly besieged by demons. For all the series does in showcasing the power of badass heroes and fighters, it…kind of also does pretty well at showing the negatives such a life might have or the negatives that could contribute to such a life. Just some observations of mine. May sound a bit cynical, but observations nonetheless.

I really like how when Nero explains to them both that he's putting a stop to their sibling rivalry that Vergil laughs and jokes about that Nero came here for such a petty reason right after, but Nero continues in a series tone and you can see Vergil's smile fade and he knows that he's being 100% serious. Also take into account that Vergil would underestimate his opponents, thinking that he was stronger than them because of the power he had and because he is a son of Sparda. Here we can clearly see that he isn't underestimating Nero, maybe because of his time with him when he was V, but he uses 'if' instead of 'when' because he knows how strong Nero is, he knows either one of them can win. Vergil has had really good character development. And he's finally at peace with himself and his brother. He was only power hungry because he blames himself for his mother's death and for not being able to protect Dante that day. Now he's at peace with himself and he knows that he already had true power within himself and you can see in the ending of the game that he and Dante are having a brotherly spar like they used to as kids. The Sparda family is at peace now. Such a refreshing end to the game.
DMC couldn't have gone out on a higher note. If this is to the series end then I'm okay with that. This games story ended perefectly fine for me. If we get more then awesome, but if not then as i said this was a great way to end it with everything all wrapped up.

Everyone expected this. Come on now.
I feel like the reason Nero seems to be so much stronger than Dante and Vergil, despite being 3/4's human, is because he exemplifies Sparda's ideal's better than either of them. Nero never sought power for its own sake; he always felt he had a purpose in protecting the people he cares for, and Nero never flat out rejected his demon powers.
this is exactly my thought nero is closer to sparda more than his own father nor uncle
Dante and Virgil depend on they sword But Nero doesn't need a special sword like them
But he doesn’t though lmao. They stopped their sin forms the moment they realize the demon was Nero. It’s like a self awareness situation

Remember what V said about the Qlipoth fruit? Even mundus use the fruit to attain his status, since human blood are the source of demonic powers.

Favorite thing is Vergil's little nodding at Nero saying that neither of them is dying. First communication they have, and his son is putting him in his place. Respect.
What I find amazing about Nero Devil Trigger is his reason for transformation. Dmc4 his first DT happen because he needed more power, he wouldn't care less what people think of him and he was willing to gain power no matter stood in his way like Credo. His first DT form was like Vergil who we all know he wanted more power regardless of who stood his way. Now in Dmc5, his reason for his transformation was because of family, sure he could have just left them to die, he didn't know Vergil that much and only just found out he had a family. But this time he wanted power, not just for him or Kyrie, he wanted the power to protect people and new DT form doesn't rely on power like his first form with Yamamoto but his own power to get through. There so much to talk about in this one scene which makes this really amazing.
Do you even remember the 4-th? It was Vergil's soul who wanted power, not he. He just wanted to protect Kyrie. "If I become demon, so be it. I'll endure the exile. Anything to protect her".
@@user-od7hh8qg9d Yes I agree to that but "protecting" made Credo who was like his brother his foe and then after that he almost kill him if it were not for Kyrie. Also he did wanted power and that shows in his refuses in giving back the Yammato to Dante.
@@dakozero8986 he needed it. And after murdering Sanctus Nero would return Yamato, but "it has to stay in the family".
Dmc 4 was because he wanted to protect people important to him (kyrie) he didnt gave a shit about power he only wanted to protect kyrie and he needed alot thats why after defeating sanctus he was more than willing to give yamato (the source of his devil trigger) to dante Dmc 5 is because he wanted to stop his family from killing themselves throughout the whole game nero is trying to prove himself not just for dante but for himself and suddenly he discovers his family and everyone told nero that dante and vergil would only stop battling once one of them is dead so to stop them he needed more power and through by sheer will he unlocks his true devil trigger
He didn't knew Vergil, but He knew V, his father human half.
Nero's DT form looking more human than that of the brothers' is a nice touch.
I love that they nod to their heritage with the devil triggers! Clearly a lot of thought went into character design
To be fair, the brothers are using Sin Devil Trigger. Dante’s normal DT looks humanoid, but demonic.
Nero represents Sparda's love and soul, Dante represents humanity and hope, Vergil represents the demons' thirst for power and strength, together they are Sparda's living legacy.
By far, Nero is truly the inheritor of Sparda's will. It might have been Dante for awhile, but he is too aloof. Nero has lived and loved and lost. All of them have, but it never changed his outlook. Dante was ready to kill his own brother in this game...

Nero truly is powerful. When he fought Urizen for the second time with his Devil Breakers he was able to break his shield and hurt him, and Urizen has been getting stronger for the month Nero was away soaking up blood from the tree. Then when he unlocks his Devil Trigger he was able to fly fast enough to reach the top, see Dante and Virgil about to clash for the last time, and zoom over to stop them. And yes you can say both were exhausted from their early battle but Nero not only Just got his Devil Trigger but can’t use his Devil Breakers. His DT form is new and not mastered yet while Virgil is in his Sin Devil Trigger. In the end Nero was able to beat him however. And we see he requires his Devil Breakers so that adds to his power. Nero has grown up, his absolute determination to protect Dante and Vergil, and his bravery to make this decision let him a huge step forward. Perhaps, symbolically, this is also the reason Nero attained his Devil Trigger, and its ability to grasp. Because he’s not a powerless kid anymore, he wants the power to grasp his own fate, to protect, to get a better game ending. I believe if his origin of intention was different, his DT would look different as well. The last game came out in 2008, no matter how old we were then, we’ve all grown just like Nero. I feel his Devil Trigger not only holds his determination, but also all of our sentiments for the previous games, it holds all of the things that happened leading to this point. The music is called “Legacy” for a reason, his DT is a legacy to himself and to us gamers. I’m turning 21 next January, through these years I slowly felt the weight of all kinds of responsibilities stacking up on me, in return is the weight of my own will. Growing up is such a core idea of his transformation, and ours of course. It is time to cherish the past as stepping stones and move on to the next phase, of life, of everything.
Wow, I’m a year younger than you. And 4th is my first game for this series. So, Nero is kinda special to me. Through 10 years of waiting. After seeing him turning from bland character to such a badass in this game while I myself also became more mature. It made me love this game even more.
I came here to listen to music, not enlightening philosophy. But thank you anyways.

FOR ME , this is probably the best and. Powerful scene in the entire game 2nd with the trio. This, shows nero's resolve to not lose anyone important to him which is a nice nostalgia for dmc 4
Now this is a Nero worthy of taking Dante's place as DMC Protagonist
Honestly I will forever love that what ultimately gives him a true Devil Trigger is love. He lost Credo before, and he refuses to lose ANYONE ELSE. Not even the dad he didn't know he had.
There comes a time when you fight harder than you ever have to protect the things that matters to you. It's at this time that you'll find strength to do the impossible, going beyond where you ever thought you could go. Not only did Nero's absolute resolve to save his family restore the devil bringer, it also awakened the demon within. The real power, not that of the Yamato, but of Nero himself. It's a great testament to how important it is to never give up, and to always push as hard as you can to do the right thing.
Thing about the scene is when Nero says "I'm not letting you die!" He is talking about Dante. It is a mirror of the two other Nero, Dante, urizen scenes. Dante just wants this fighting to be over. As Dante once said of spadas dissapearence, "He probably just got bored one day and let a bullet shoot him in the head from some weakling." Nero embodies who sparda was. A demon who believed in justice and knew what was right. Dante is sparda's rage and rebellion against injustice. Yamato represents the new order, the thing that can separate heart from the mind (human/demon). The hurt Japanese spirit that must be mended.
I think he was talking about both of them, since they are both family and nero is pretty shocked at the idea of having a family now
Not just Dante, he JUST finally found out who his father was. He will drag both of them home, kicking and screaming if he has to.

1:53 I like to think that when those hand-wing things appeared on Nero's shoulders, someone was pushing him to get to the top and stop the Sons of Sparda, and that someone is possibly either Eva or Sparda himself. They didn't want to see their children keep killing themselves anymore.
...Given the thoughts he was having, and how angelic they look, maybe both of the above AND Credo.
I almost cried in this escene but my mom was next to me so I didnt lol
I was alone so... :')
Man a grown ass man nearly cried on this scene
As a huge fan of the dmc series and of johnny young bach's voice acting this sceen combined 2 things i absolutly love and by god the sceen of "I'm not letting you die" gave me chills and felt so i credibly badass
Well its official ...Vergil banged an oni from onimusha.
Alotof people who played this game didn't play the previous ones. Those people are casuals. But the ones who understand how odd it is to see Nero with a normal arm and his perfect devil trigger. We are the champs. A beautiful end game to a beautiful and amazing story. Turns out the power was in Nero all along
Christopher Blanchard It was awesome for me as someone who played a lot of DMC4
When the devil breaker crumbles into pieces the energy of Nero's arm looks like the old Devil Bringer
2:09 dat music is so perfectedly well fitted
Nero: does anything Audience: *parental instinct activation*
“I couldn’t protect Credo.” *Me getting flashbacks of devil bustering his spear back to him*
The moment Dante got bitchslapped he knew Nero will win that's why he didn't bothered.
I hope nero Red Queen sword can evolve into holy/demonic sword
Like blue Flames or something??
Actually that would ruin it. The point is that Red Queen is a human-made weapon.
True, I think Nero can stick with his mechanical sword, but if his DT form can conjure Red Queen, that would be cool
Idk; I feel like that’d be pretty weird. The rebellion and yamato are straight up demonic swords; the red queen is just a just a human made sword with a really nice effect. A huge part of this scene is that Nero doesn’t need any demonic weapons to be insanely powerful (unlike Dante and Vergil). Also holy doesn’t exist in mainstream dmc (so just demonic), it’s only a thing in DmC Devil May Cry (which I actually kinda liked; along with their mother still being kinda alive, just not how Vergil’s character ended up just being straight up evil and renouncing her).
Holy? Like, because credo was an "angel"?
This is the only DMC game I’ve played but this scene alone would make me wanna play the whole series. Of course having played the whole game, I’m gonna absolutely do that.
Ignore who says otherwise but even if you play only one game in the series you are still a worthy fan, the other games even if they aged quite a bit are really great, the only different sensation you feel is the engine and the combat system not evolved like in this game, but the sould of the series is there in every single game
Nero transformations really takes me to a nostalgic trip to Onimusha games and the badass transformations Nero's one especially reminds me of Soki's transformation. Capcom...Please make Onimusha 5...If there is a DMC5 Then there's gotta be a Onimusha 5.
With Jubei/Akane as the protag a few years after the final battle!
Still love how Dante just basically "I'm getting too old for this"
A true anime moment
Nero was truly motivated.
😂😂
When your father see you and your brother fighting each other
adit ghifari when your son see you and your brother fighting each other**
Nero just needed to scream bankai and this could of all been over alot earlier
