Hello folks! Today I want to show you my new restoration project. I found this old rusty butcher axe at flea market. The shape of axe is very interesting. Well, time to restore it!
Restoration process: I used rust remover liquid and then clean it via iron brush and start to polishing metal. I used sandpaper for polishing from 40 to 3000 grids. I used also my lathe wood machine as an assistant for polishing. The main thing is to fix the workpiece correctly. Parts of the axe handle were in good condition, and I cleaned them with sandpaper and dark water and soap. I separated the axe blade from the head and tempered it in oil. Next, using the polishing machine for the axe blade. I heated the axe blade to 800 degrees and used a wooden hammer to straighten it. I used thick nails for the rivets, and also used a welding machine to brew this place for greater clarity. After that, for the axe head, I used iron chloride to darken it. As usual, I made a test for the axe.
Sincerely, Alex. Thanks for attention!
Good luck and health to everyone! With best wishes, Alex!

I work in a restaurant kitchen. I want one now. That axe looks so fun to use.
What a fantasic and unique piece you found. I love the whole look of it and that the backside was also a meat tenderizer. I have to wonder who tought, you know I really need to butcher some meat, but I want to feel like a knight weilding a halberd while doing it. Excellent work as always!
Yes, the shape is really unusual. It resembles a battle axe of the middle ages.
This guy deserve more views
At least he after 7 mins has more views than me after 3 days 😂
100% yes
Daddy screws has blessed us with a new rust bottle
I love yourr restoration
That butcher's axe would fit right in with a fantasy setting.
I love how your work is ‘grassroots’…(basic and practical). I am tired of watching videos that show rubbish restorations with made up rust, and bits falling off the item. All clearly false. Yours are terrific. You use very few tools and achieve wonderful results. Thank you once again from your friend in Australia.
Hello! Thank you so much for attention and feedback! ^_^
great kitchen tool
This is peak Screws and Tools right here... what a fantastic piece!

Super !!!! Respect!!!
Never seen that before. Great work
Nice work, love the part when make chicken after you make the knife.
Fantastic job right here
Just a tiny bit more bigger and heavier and it would be a battle axe with a warhammer on the other end.
It already is.
çok güzel işler.
Very nice, thank you for sharing
Very cool ax. You big well done. Thank you for video. Good luck.
Como sempre, um excelente trabalho.👏👏👏👏🇧🇷

Your works are really admirable. Congratulations on your dedication. May it always remain so. I liked straight from Brazil
Loved the video and the work you put into the axe. I liked the shiny blade better though. Nicely done, sir very nicely done indeed.

Muito bom!!! 👏👏
Da, napominaet chto-to iz srednix vekov.
Excellent!
You do such really great work🙂🙂🙂
So cool!
that was great
Handle is made most likely with Bakelite. It should polish very nicely with your wheel and metal polishing paste.
Show Maravilhoso
Eye like it.
That would have to be the fanciest meat axe I’ve seen in my 64 years. Good work though. You definitely deserve more subscribers. 👍🇦🇺
Thank you sir!
I wish i could find stuff like this
vintage axe butcher hehe... great
Danke schön
Looks like a custom Axe some body put together with junk, on the principle of having an Axe Blade
Very nice and interesting butcher’s axe. Looks great, but when using on food, I would have left the blade shiny. The blackened blade looked odd and almost dirty-like, especially for use on food. Best of luck with all of your restorations.
Thank you!
Is that a meat pounder on the other end? That’s wild.
super SUPER JOB
Wow👍👏👏👏
Another top notch restoration. What kind of tea keeps you going thru a restoration like this? Chamomile? Lemongrass?
Black tea with lemon, no sugar. Or just green tea without sugar.
@@ScrewsAndTools Excellent!
Beautiful item. Though I honestly suggest to add a wooden end at the handle. In general your handles are made excellent. But the wood of the present in fashion and popular is dark. Would you mind using mahogany or teak? I am aware it is expensive.
That's one aggressive butcher's axe.
How do you make sure all those threads won't loosen as you use it?? No thread tape?
Why did I just picture Hannibal Lecter approving this video?
As usual very nice job. Where do you find all these pieces you restore?
At flea market sir.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
👍👍
Pocket halberd!
can it thrust?
Great work what type of bandsaw do you use?
Thanks sir, I used metabo bandsaw
i thought it would be bigger, based on the thumbnail.
Are you sure that's a butcher's tool you've got there? My friend Theongrind the Dwarf said he lost his war axe somewhere around those parts...
You got new toys to work with! And you look slimmer too! But would you PLEEEEZE get your fingers out of the way when you chop? I got nervous,
👍🏼
👍👍👍
the axe blade is the shape of the head of the queen mother in Aliens
Should the meat hammer be hardened also?? IDK just asking
In this case, no.
Where did you find "İlkay Termostatlı Fırın"?
Bizde satılıyor ve popüler). Bizde satılıyor ve popüler) (çevirmeni kullanıyorum)
I love it , especially the Part when you heat treated the blade, ... Fire Cleanses Everything?! , always expecting restorers to put the restoring item in the forge, but sometimes they don't e.g "Straight Razors?!" (Why!? .. so it can clean off the "dead skins/bacteria/blood?!") Be more thorough!? - Love Your Work!!
That must be from a butcher in the Mofia! 😂😂
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Ur normal restoration are great thats what I meant I wasn't saying they were bad just wrong wording
I have an old civil war saber/sword that needs help. Do you do work for others?
Sometimes but post office it is unlikely to agree to sending cutting items, i guess. But any cases you can contact me via facebook or instagram. Regards.
I love this ax & the meat clever you did with the hammer & gut hook on it
I noticed there was also a persimmon on your chopping board. Is there a Georgian recipe which uses chicken with persimmon?
Hello, yes, we have such recipes. My mom used to cook when I was little.
@@ScrewsAndTools perhaps an idea for a future episode on your cooking channel? 😉
