Choose "Troubleshoot" on the Choose an option screen. ... Choose "Startup Settings" and then click Restart to get to the final selection menu for Safe Mode. ... Enable Safe Mode with or without internet access. Once you do that reset your hard drive and click "Remove all files" Back up any files that are not replaceable such as photos, videos and game data but be careful what you choose to put on your clean drive. After you reset the hard drive run Tron Script to clear any malicious data.

This was super helpful Nico thanks for the tips! Quick question/concern is obviously virustotal asks that you don't upload files with personal info. Is there a possibility that stuff like autoruns or even similar apps like process explorer can upload files w/ personal information you didn't intend when you have the hashes checked on virustotal? Slightly paranoid on that aspect. Or is it fine since they specifically mean personal files being directly uploaded/checked on virustotal itself, and not through autoruns and/or similar apps like process explorer?

hi! yesterday i believe i might have installed something sketchy, it wouldn’t let me exit out and kept installing a bunch of apps / programs that i tried deleting as much i could after. i tried a system restore, it didn’t do much, ran all windows scans and some other antivirus scans, nothing was found but my cpu / gpu usage would be at 80% + when opening task manager for a second and then drop down to 10% - 4%. i decided to factory reset and i am still having the same issue. what should i do? also before the reset and after said system restore, i was having trouble opening some apps that were downloaded before all this happening.
I was on your malware clean video but I wanted to make sure I didn't have anything because i got an error and me trying to open my jpg i posted in the browser after ending it's task twice froze my screen for a few momments thank God you for showing me this virus detection! Hi nico i had 2 trojans from downloading free games like an idiot you video helped alot tho but in the tron video i did that to remove it and it got all of the virusses of thank u u made me a subscriber but my windows defender was still running and it blocked some of the scanners and stuff should i unblock it or not and i did a defender scan right after using the autotuns and i got a threat found on microsoft defender a mudium one and it says settings modifier.win32/possiblehostfilejack Status active Details this program changer virious computer settings without concent Affected file c:windows/system32/drivers/etc/host so should i romive this with deffender or is it the autoruns program ??

wow thanks for all the videos about tron and this and etc., really helped alot. im quite paranoid when it comes to pc security and i always make sure everything i download and every website i visit is safe. i dont know how but today at 19 o' clock i suddenly got the alert from defender that i got the Sabsik trojan and i got pretty confused and didnt know what to do but i think ive removed it with defender because i always keep the ransomware security on but it kept popping up during scans so i tried the method using tron and it didnt find any malware so i was quite confused. I used this tutorial and it showed that an easy-anticheat EOS or sum was infected, with 1 vendor on virus total confirming it with an alias of sabsik so i deleted it manually and i hope its fixed now. Thanks a lot for the helpful video.

I appreciate how simple you keep things and the step-by-step processes! I have something wrong -- I keep getting pop ups on the lower right of my screen. They vary between the same 4-5 images telling me "I have a virus/renew McAfee subscribtion/my Yahoo email has been infected". They're popping up every 30-60 seconds. I've ran Tron twice and used this detection process. I had all zeros. This just started last week. Any thoughts?
Hi Amy, I would imediately uninstall all McAfee products. Its impossible to determine if there is a problem until that clunky program is gone. If you have already run Tron, then your system should be secure. I think McAfee is just alerting on everything Tron did.

I Had an issue with seeing the virus total data in the far right column of the display because my Win11Pro Dark color scheme made the data illedgible.. it was too dark to read it, so I went ahead and messed around with my windows Themes and color schemes.. kinda messed things up but did finally see the data in that column and deleted one Driver app that had a 3 count.. Is this history of changes saved anywhere? what screen settings do you recommentd before launching VirusTotal? Thanks jimS

I noticed in the passed week or so I've been having a laggy experience on my PC. So I installed Malwarebytes and quarantined about 30 files I found with "BBWC" in the name. PC still feels a bit sluggish, but autoruns didn't pick up anything besides 1's and 2's so now I'm really stumped

Hi Nico, what do you mean by dropper can survive reset or reinstall, as i had been attacked by a redline stealer and wasn’t sure if it was fileless malware or what. When i uploaded it to Vt it said dropper and i had factory reset my laptop, after that i even sent it to a local shop for a full clean reinstall. Can you please elaborate more on the dropper
Some droppers sit and hide until a new install is performed and then they "drop" in on the new install. If you had a professional perform a clean install, then you are fine.

I think I have techphobia/virusphobia or something I get very scare and need to check everyday if I have a virus even if I didn't download anything bad 😂I get a bunch of errors in the total virus checker, I am running SysinternalsSuite and there I can see I have all my process with 0 detection in total virus, is also a windows tool, I can use that one too to check right? Hello Nico, thankyou for always providing simple yet effective steps and info to help other with their PC issues I have one question about Autoruns actually Yesterday, I ran Tronscript, and during its sequences, it installed CC Cleaner After it finished when I opened Autoruns, I saw some yellow lines showing some stuff that already not exist, in this case CC Cleaner left after Tronscript So, I decided to delete them, and then the Autoruns refresh itself, but the section on VirusTotal all showing error after hash submitted The version of the Autoruns is the latest one 14.09 Do you know something that might enlighten me in this matters ? what's happen if autoruns come back with 99% results as error? how to fix it? autoruns been working perfectly and out of a sudden become like this. wonder if this a sign of something bad or just file corrupted?
autoruns is showing “ERROR” msg in the virus total column for all entries. Did you mention it can access the virus database only a limited number of times per day thus generating the error msg if exceeded? CONFIRMED; gave it about 24hrs and it all works as it should now. I did find on the virustotal website where it did mention something to the effect that if it got more than 4 queries in 1 minute it basically puts you in a form of “timeout” I think MS should at least put that message out there on the autoruns download page because I see the same question pop up quite often. hi nico i need ur help! So a little while ago i downloaded and installed some old software from library archive like photoshop elements 2, hypercam 2 and windows movie maker and before I installed this stuff i scaned it and was getting like 2/76 ish. Well i was worried it could still be a virus and stuff so I did reset my computer like 6 diffrent times i can recall. Now when i use my pc weird stuff happens like sometimes I;ll be drawing and the computer will say not responding even if im not using lots of memory and it didnt use to do that before, though I wanna mention this happens only sometimes but it never used to happen. If i click on the web browser it opened all tiny and it was a hassle to fix and it didn't use to do that. And the main thing that's got me stressed was my laptop battery goes down wayf faster than it used to like every couple of mins its down like 2%. I did everything you said in the video and did the autorun thing and in my computer it only shows like 2 things with a 1/72 but why is my computer different than before? Is it possible im so infected my computer can't detect it? Last I wanna mention my computer still runs decently fast and doesn't crash. I just wanna be 100 sure.
It may be that some files have been damaged by your intervention. There are commands on the internet that you can use to repair them. The latest video from this channel is an example. Otherwise, if you are still not sure, you can try Tron. If everything else seems broken, I would recommend reinstalling Windows. Don't forget to put your data on a USB stick, otherwise make a backup.

I was using autorun (latest version) and noticed that the virustotal tab worked one time but now it all shows up as "error". I deleted and reinstalled autorun like 3 times but it still shows up as "error". Any way of fixing this??

45/68 is definitely a detection. Different engines use different methods other than signatures.

My autorun has errors instead the numbers
1 year ago i was infected throw my chrome browser, got all my passwords stored there stolen. 1 year later, trying to download a plugin, got infected again, this time in opera gx, similar things happend but much less agresive (last time my pc was reestarting over and over and i couldnt do nothing but reinstal windows from 0). I´ve been running a lot of thing to try clean my pc now, and the antiviruses are consistently cleaning similar files form my pc (i guess the virus regenerates the files deleted when i reestart pc or open certain aplications). I ran Autoruns and the worst thing it found was a 3/75. I have two 1/75 too. The thing is, im pretty sure i still have these 2 viruses in my pc, cause they are regenerating the same extension in chrome and the same registry things on opera gx again and again. HOW DO I SOLVE IT, im getting desperate :((((
Bro you need to see a professional and scrub that one. Buy a brand new computer etc

Check my more recent video on detecting viruses. I cover this.
Close the app and restart it as an administrator that don't work. Then open the virus total website and then run Auto runs as administrator and sometimes that will work.
