Good evening, would it be possible to do a test that has never been done on KZhead, between Herman Miller Embody and the Embody Game. Use a Handheld Thermal camera to detect the different temperatures between the two chairs, after sitting for example 3 consecutive hours in one and then in the other. In 3 weeks I intend to buy one of them and it is a very important aspect for me, if you could do this test in the meantime I would really appreciate it. Thank you.
@@luisbrito-wy4fx I plan to do a gaming vs non-gaming embody video in the future. I just wrote this down in my notes to make sure I run this test in that video! It won't be out for a few weeks though, so you'll unfortunately have to make a decision before then!

Hi, another test you could do would be to find out at what weight the gamming chair starts to make noises, since there are several users of this chair and some say it makes noise and others don't. Thanks.@@Ahnestly
@@luisbrito-wy4fxI would be shocked if any gaming embody truly makes no noise, unless someone simply didn't adjust it much or rarely to never flexed their back in it. Mine was pretty quiet when it arrived but within three weeks it now makes a fair amount of noise when I move about in it. This doesn't bother me but it seems simply to be part of what it is. I'm 173cm and 70kg, so average size.

Man I feel like all these companies are overcharging for chairs.... if I am gonna pay over $1,000 I want that thing gold plated.
It’s the same thing with a bed; you don’t typically realize it but you spend ~8 hours every day in a bed so it should cost a lot and be made well. The same goes with office chairs for many people who work the same hours

Thank you for this. I have been struggling to find a chair after having lower back and butt/leg issues which started recently from the whole work from home the last few years. I tried the leap v1 and flexispot c7 with no luck. Either had tailbone pain or i guess the sides of the chair cut off circulation. You have given me a few chairs to order and test out. I was trying to save money but as this point comfort and wellbeing trumps the 1k price tags.
The HERO we all needed. It’s unbelievable how good this video is, especially for a shorter person (I’m 5’2) it’s impossible to find a chair. No one reviews for people who are shorter in mind.

Thanks for all the videos. I bought a Emobdy Gaming and Atlas headrest recently. Upgrading from a 15 year old highly adjustable Mirra. The mirra back (hard plastic) is really flexible and comfy in my opinion. 6'2" big guy. I'm sure the embody will be better though, but I have been comfy on the Mirra for a long time.
Interesting! I sat on the hard plastic back and thought I was being punished. It hurt so bad. The butterfly knit feels GREAT though in comparison!
@@Ahnestlythis is how I feel on the embody, which is your favourite chair. I guess to an extent it just depends on body shape. Even with a blanket over my embody it hurts my back after not very long.
You should make a tier list of the chairs with the best seat cushions (including remanufactured ones like from Crandall). And great video btw!

Thank you for the review, as a previous owner of Branch, I need to remind people of the lumbar support issue, it's stiff and no cushion at all, the worst is it doesn't really support your lumbar. (pls check other reviews on the internet) I also want to provide one option for the low budget tier, Moustache MOFC-1062E, it's a hidden gem. I owned it before I switched over to the branch one, my wife and I both think Moustache one totally beats branch one. But again as you mentioned, everyone is built differently.
As a short, heavy-set woman I really appreciate this review. My workplace has the Fern but its sooo expensive in Canada. So I may consider the category two recommendations from the same manufacturer. Thank you for this video ❤

Really nice job man! Im looking for the softest arm pads (i lean on elbows a lot) and most comfortable seat that doesn't bottom out. Considering there seems to be a million options this may take awhile to narrow down.

Im here because I have an all mesh chair and weight 210. As you warned, its sagging to the point of uselessness. My circulation gets cut off by the edges in less than 3 minutes. Time for a new chair! On the plus side it never smelled bad because it breaths so well.

Love my Steelcase Gesture. No other chair has the unique armrest features, and it's super easy to find some memory foam covers for the armrests if you want padding. Word to the wise on the Herman Miller Embody chair (and Logitech equivalent), test drive one for yourself and sit in it for at least 10 minutes. Some people have a very bad pinching in the lower back after sitting in it for extended periods. Usually unnoticeable if you just sit in it briefly, but very uncomfortable if you're one of the people that doesn't fit quite right in it. Trust me, I REALLY wanted to get an Embody myself before hearing about people with that issue, and found I had the same issue as well.
I’m just glad you went for what fit you, and didn’t buy into just aesthetics. I can’t tell you how many young guys have come into my studio and convince themselves they like the uncomfortable chair bc it looks cool!
I have a gesture as well and love it. One of my only complaints is that the arm rests are a little too firm, but I found a pair of memory foam armrest covers on Amazon that fixed the problem completely
@@Clone895 If you think the Gesture's armpads are too firm, every other chair arm would feel like a brick! So glad you went with the Gesture!! IMHO, Gesture has some of the softest arms compared to everything else out there lol
@@Ahnestly The problem is I like to dig my elbows into the pads sometimes lol. I actually really liked the Aeron arm rests, but for home use, the chair was a bit too stiff. I could see it being a great chair for office work though
Admittedly I'm only 6 minutes into the video, but I wish you would not kinda encourage users to sit cross-legged full-time work (as you did by recommending the SIHOO M18 for short users). Sitting cross-legged full-time can lead to a number of health issues in the long term, e.g. spine misalignment, various knee issues, increased blood pressure, etc. Your dedication to this niche is outstanding! Thank you for making these videos :)

Greatly appreciate these reviews. I wanted to add suggestions for reviews. That is measurement from butt to knee, butt to arch, butt to base of neck. The height is good general rule but there are cases of people with height of 5’6 yet has shorter leg due to their ratio to leg to chest. There is a reason why some models has very long legs. From my understanding it has something to do with genetics and when growth spurts occur. Keep up the good work
Something you should also take into consideration for very tall people is the seat depth. There may be people which require more than 50cm if they have long legs. Many of the big brands have super small seat depth, an exception being the gaming chairs usually. While some chairs offer a seat depth adjustion, this usually just creates a gap in the back and does not really solve the issue. For me personally, i still did not find a suitable chair for me. I am currently sitting on a Noblechairs Hero which has a 50cm seat depth, which is still not enough for me (I can still fit a whole hand between the seat and the end of my knees). The chair is really hard (probably similar to the Secretlab) and this puts a lot of pressure on my legs. This forces me to lean back 90% of the time to relax my legs. But with how hard back of the chair is, over time this causes light back pain for me. Im "only" 191 cm tall.
This is a good call. The deepest seat by far without gap is the Gaming Embody. Instead of the seat sliding out, you can pull the front lip out. Very clever design, prevents any kind of gapping. The issue though, then, is the curled backrest can dig into taller folks' shoulders, which requires a $200 headrest to mitigate!

Great video. The Anthros chair is the least comfortable chair I have ever been in. I would be very leery of a wide recommendation for that chair. Fern is best chair for me and I prefer the mesh because it is so much cooler than the digital knit.

I have a soji i Adore it. I used to have like really bad neck issues. Because my chair was horrible the soji is amazing very comfortable and got rid of the neck issues. It is probably one of the best bang for buck chairs out there i am 5'10 normal like sneakers

It was actually surprising for me how hard it is finding a chair that fits me, i am 6'3 which is a pretty normal height where im from so i thought most chairs would work for me. Thank god i didnt just buy some chair online but i actually went and tried some out

Love your videos! One suggestion is to bring a friend that's 6' ± 2" so that we can relate. Personally I've shrunk from 6' @ 18yrs to 5'11" @ 42yrs. Average US male is 5'9".

I had to stop using my SecretLabs Omega because of the raised bucket-style sides of the seat. Over time, they were pressing in against my thighs and it became quite uncomfortable, which sucks because I love everything else about it. But yeah, I am back in the market for a chair that will remain comfortable over many hours of gaming and right now I'm using a basic hand-me-down office char with a flat seat that is so much better than my Omega. EDIT: I ordered a BDOT remanufactured Leap V2 can't wait to try it out.

@@mikel6670 Honestly, I loved everything about the chair except the seat. I felt like i was slowly sliding out of the seat almost as if it was sloped downwards. My favorite part about the chair was the headrest, it was awesome lol. But yea, I ended up with an embody, awesome chair all around, but the arm rests are nothing compared to the gestures.
I'm not sure if you read the comments but I would really love to see you do a review for chairs recommended to artists and animators on a budget. We tend to lean forward a lot and need good back support because we can sit up to 8 to 16 hours a day. 😅
Hey! I've had similar thoughts to this...maybe try a series of "best chairs for X" and try different professions. The only issue is, I'd have to contact a buncha people who found a chair that fits their needs well! Otherwise, it would be just my assumptions!

I’ve been contemplating the fern and gaming embody very hard, and i’ve decided to go with the fern solely because of the design. I’m a design snob and i’m forfeiting utmost comfort that I know would come with the gaming embody because I am not a fan of the limited choices. The purple is horrendous, I wish there was at least a neutral option because if there was i’d 100% be getting the gaming embody. I think the fern will be comfortable enough and the design won’t clash so hard with my home interior

I can find siho m18 and ticova for the same price but i never bought a ergo chair so i have no idea what to get lol , i guess il keep checking info about them , my budget is up to 200€ since i need to replace my whole setup , i might cheap on the desk and other stuff for now and go for bigger budget on the chair since chair is the most important "part" of the setup for prolonged work or gaming hours.

I struggled finding a chair. I'm 6'3 220lbs and let me tell you, I returned way more than I wanted to, then I found Ahnestly, and he sold me on the gaming embody. It's a massive investment yes, but I've never sat more comfortably at my desk in my entire life. I've had it about 11 months now and my posture has been better, zero back pain, and my favorite part, no numb/poorly circulated legs. If you can shell it out, gaming embody is worth the investment if you sit at a desk 8hrs a day! EASILY!
Noiceeee!! Love it!!! What's kinda crazy is that someone was saying (shorter than you) their legs were going numb in the Embody. It's wild to see how different we all are! But also, hearing stories like this of people's back pain being relieved after that long hunt is what gets me excited about putting these reviews out!!!
@@Ahnestlythat was me! The numbness seems to have almost gone now (though that is partly because I don't recline much anymore cos it hurts my back too much and I have a foot stool). However, while I'm having nothing but trouble with this chair, I got my wife to try it in the fully reclined position that hurts my back the most and after an hour she reported that it's incredibly comfortable. So it is really is down to different body shapes. Both my wife and the HM salesperson think I should just take the pain and my back will adapt to better posture (and that was one of the main reasons I bought an ergonomic chair). Given that HM Shanghai won't let me get a refund or exchange the chair, it's the only choice I've got.
