Check out Alexander Volkanovski's fight week vlog from UFC 281 Israel Adesanya vs Alex Pereira. Volkanovski went to New York City to support City Kickboxing teammates and friends Israel Adesanya, Brad Riddell, Dan Hooker and Carlos Ulberg as well as take care of some business in the Big Apple.

How does the Israel Adesanya vs Alex Pereira rematch go?
It depends on if Pereira could land that left hook again. Izzy needs to be perfect for 5 rounds while Pereira needs to be perfect for a couple punches. Izzy also does have power but Pereira's power is crazy.

@@chuckles9767 True and before that Jan loss, he was in awesome fights and was finishing people (obviously excluding the Romero fight but it was both their faults). It seems like after the Jan fight, he stopped taking risks and against a guy like Alex, you gotta take risks.
Izzy was saying pereira was just gonna be a guy talking about how he beat him one time, Izzy is gonna be in a bar somewhere complaining about early stoppage

@@nbanba7531 I think he was meaning more towards as a champion. Most champions are fighting every 6-9 months, sometimes a year. Volk has fought 5 fights in 2.5 years and that's with the pandemic. Man has been on a mission.
Not to say Volk doesn't have a work ethic, but most people work 8 hours a day 5 days a week, alll year round. So MMA fighters are really just working like everybody else

We have learned Alex owns him in a kickboxing style of fighting, so if Izzy wants to win he needs to wrestle and keep Alex down as much as possible. Love you Volk!
Izzy better get better at wrestling then. All of his takedown attempts failed.
It must suck for Izzy. He had this guy on skates in both fights and just couldn’t get the finish. In fairness the fight in Brazil the ref saves Alex big time. Imagine Izzy with Alex power. That would be an unstoppable force.
I mean that's not really that accurate is it, they had an incredible back and forth kickboxing match, both of em had plenty of success, Izzy got close at the end of the first. Completely changing up and trying for a style you aren't used to isn't a good change of plans at all, the gameplan is still going to be to strike in all likelihood, should you favour Pereira, yeah but it'll probably still be a damn close fight.
@@TheShyStarboy it's actually a great gameplan. Pereira was in huge trouble on the ground and could easily have gotten finished if Izzy was better at securing the choke. not to mention he was totally gassed in round 4
@@hunterhunter5998 Okay but the single takedown Izzy got was much more off a mistake Pereira made than a takedown Izzy was going for, completely changing his style to go full wrestler has just as much a chance backfiring for Izzy, he went one in four for takedowns Pereira ended up having the stronger clinch of the two, and he's obviously not going to be the only one drilling his wrestling for a rematch Pereira is likely to gameplan even more around that.

@@robertsfamily4364 it actually does make sense. If Alex was as quick and skilled as Adesanya he'd land the knockout blows quicker. When they fight Isreal seems to be the one who lands the most damage first but because of how strong and powerful Poatan is he's able to withstand and land the few strikes to eventually get the win. But if they had the same power Adesanya would ko him quickly. The only thing keeping Adesanya a good match in these fights is his skill advantage.
