  • Which laptop would you pick? 👀 check current prices and deals below 👇 ASUS TUF A15: geni.us/RSrxbsX Lenovo Legion 5: geni.us/wK1Ke Some people getting real mad about the conclusion lol. Is the TUF better in every way? No, definitely not. Do they basically perform the same in games with the TUF being less money, yeah, which I'd argue is what most people care about. If you want to pay extra for some of the extras that the Legion offers then by all means go ahead.

    • Well if you spec a lower end Legion, or maybe even Ideapad Gaming. Then the comparison would be more fair. Otherwise it's like... Don't buy a Lexus, Buy a Hyundai. Of course a Hyundai is going to be more economical. Duh. It would be more fair to compare Toyota to Hyundai, or Genesis to Lexus, that's all.

  • I think Legion’s extras in thermals, display quality, keyboard, ports, faster ssd, dual channel ram, and aesthetics are worth the extra $100 or $200. If you don’t really care about all that then the A15 is already a solid option.

  • Great comparison, I was needing this vid as I was thinking on buying a new laptop this xmas. The short commings of the TUF are mostly neglectable since Ill be using external screen&keyboard&mouse anyway, at least my greatest worry would be the less quality, lower color gamut screen if I did not have the external one, and Ive never used a usc type-c in my life anyway, so having only 1 instead of 3 means nothing. I was just worried with the slower ssd Gen and the dual Ram, but thanks to your tests I can see it does not affect game performance, and actually the TUF got better GPU score. Additionaly, if I were to connect the laptop to ethernet, definitely the lenovo position is way better, but I dont even currently have an ethernet cable in my room, so another neglectable con. Just thank you so much for the review I was going insane trying to analyze these small difference in my head. On paper the TUF should be worst because of the ram and ssd gen, but its not! So now I will be relaxed when just choosing whatever is cheapest and available on my country.

  • @JarrodsTech Do you think the A15 witb 6800H and 3070 would be a better option than with 3060? (Assuming I found a good deal money wise) I'm conscious about thermal throttling becoming more of an issue even with my cooling pad with that and ultimately resulting in worse (or at least less consistent performance)

    @Atticvs32@Atticvs32 Жыл бұрын
    • 3070 performs just slightly better but not really that noticeable as what Jarrod did last time when testing both gpus. So if we are talking about something of a good deal, money wise, then my personal choice would still be the 3060 over the 3070 (unless if it's a 3070ti then that gpu will outmatch the 3060). If you are only concern with performance then just go for a higher end 3080ti or 3090 instead.

  • I'm typing this from my Lenovo Legion and to be honest... couldn't be happier with it. Lenovo sales let me bought it really cheap, even cheaper than the TUF. If you don't mind paying a little bit more in most scenarios... I would go with the Lenovo due to the overall build quality. Of course it always depends on the sales in your area, TUF has become much better this year, so don't be afraid to go for it if the price is good. Btw, great video as usual, Jarrod.

  • Hey Jarrod. Shouldn't the TUF series be compared to the IdeaPad gaming series? The Legion series is more akin to the ROG series. It seems like an unfair fight but I'm assuming you made this comparison based on what you had in your inventory. Nonetheless, would you consider reviewing the new IdeaPad gaming series?

    @BXbomber718@BXbomber718 Жыл бұрын
    • Honestly I don't really pay attention to what companies are doing in terms of 'series' of laptops, I care about price point for the specs available. Also this would demolish the IdeaPad (see my ranking video next week) so there would be no point doing that comparison. I've already got a review of this year's IdeaPad Gaming 3i up

I know some of people can say hey this model is better bla.. bla.. bla.. and that. Honestly, im respect all of those opinion but it all come down back to the point of price, availability and the location where you can get the laptop where all of this factors can be different from time to time. 3) budget - this one may sound common but yah its important to buy anything based on our own pocket. In conclusion, I'm satisfied with this TUF A15 2022 for gaming, productivity and a lot of stuff im doing for my work. it was GREAT. In my personal opinion by this time im writing this comment, at the same price of this tuf a15 2022 you may can get rtx3070 or rtx3080 from laptop 2020 or 2021 laptop. If your target for just gaming la bcs this is more than great for gaming :) if you need more than just gaming u may can considered back and use the tips im already given above. Thank you for your time reading this comment. It's also got Smart Access Graphics which is basically auto MUX. Smartshift Max also works very well the GPU gets up to 130 watts of juice because of it while dGPUs top out at 115w on the Omen 16. Temps are great as well, GPU max 78 degrees and CPU max 86 degrees while gaming. I've played Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition and Dota 2 on it yet, even handles RT better than expected, was able to play Metro on 1080p Ultra preset with High RT and RT Reflections at about 70fps, without any sort of upscaling. • I would personally recommend legion 5 , being a owner of the two (older version of tuf fx504gm ) and right now a legion 5 2021 user the build quality and reliability of the legion is far better than tuf series.. It's true the tuf lasted 3 year for me but cost me 12.5% of the laptops value in repairs but asus service is super friendly and good.. now down one year with the legion had no over heating issue or any other problems that I had with my tuf during its time..

    • Same here I had the asus tuf gaming fx504gm lasted exactly 4 years until the motherboard gave up. A few repairs along the way until then, definitely would not recommend it to anyone it's simply not worth it. Better buy lenovo legion or acer predator series.

  • About legion 5. If you're about to buy it, just remember: most of them have the game problem: due to poor thermal pads some of which are not thick enough, 1-2 VRAM chips got to work without proper cooling, and eventually burn out in a year or two. So it's a MUST to bring it to a service and replace the stock thermal pads. And when I say it's a must I really mean it. I've seen exactly the same problem in 5 out of 5 legions. Different shipments, different complectations, same fundamental problem

    • you have had five legion 5 (2022) notebooks?! or older versions? they also changed the cooling version from version to version. Interesting to read it hear for the first time and you claim to have it had 5 times? can you elaborate which models you actually had?

  • What scares me about the TUF laptops is knowing a friend who bought the 2021 model (3050) which had an issue where it wouldn't use the GPU more than 50%, basically making his fps twice as bad as what I would get on a 1050.
