Great video. I would suggest that you seal the plywood end grain to prevent soaking up moisture. Turned out nice.
I was going to leave the same comments.
Me too - those panels will be rotten within a year.
@@stevek5988 Same for me. I was lacking the word "plywood end grain".
Very good. You are the best.
Yeah, I'm confused as to why go to so much effort to make it nice and then leave the underside exposed. When I saw it being painted with stonechip I thought that it was the underside, but no...
I think you're the best at making KZhead videos about restoring or fixing things.. no unneeded nonsense thank God.and you do not talk trash about what someone may have done to something before you got it... I'm trying to say is thank God there's decent guys like you to watch. And thank. For I have enjoyed all your videos. And even learned a few things. and for that I think you.
Excellent restoration. The steel held up well. Nice size trailer, bigger than the ones I see these days. I love the design. Having the sides drop down adds a lot of functionality. Well done. Dave.

WOW, as usual, great job. I tried to get my former son-in-law to restore my trailer. He could only take it apart. After the ugly divorce, it was gone. I missed your succinct words, but the text words were great!!! Thx
I wasn't shocked to see the marine ply being the major cost in that restoration!
Awesome job, looks like brand spanking new. Digging the color choices, especially the popping chrome.
Turned out nice, but I would paint the underside of the side panels and tailgate, otherwise moisture will get in.
It's always so satisfying watching you bring old stuff back to life. Keep up the good work!
That’s a nice yard cart! Beautiful restoration.
Here in Maine, we'd save those wood sides for another project. Perfectly useable.
Coat of paint and run the hardware through the wire wheel and it might as well be fresh from the lumber isle
Well, that explains Maines support for "leave our troops behind" Biden then doesn't it, not to mention the last eight elections through the 80s where Maine has cast its vote for corruption; I mean democrats.
Yeah and then just retube those tires, still had miles left on them!
I’m surprised the frame is still there 😂
He ment rust to dust
Looking sharp especially the chrome powder coat looks good. Also did you use stainless hardware? Looks like it Only couple things I would add would be grease fitting for the tilt mechanism, stain the edges and run a bead of decent outdoor caulk around the floor so water cant seep between the angle iron and the wood.
I love seeing any sort of machine or implement coming back to life and being used again. Nice work!
Lovely job once again Dagger.
We are not just going to piss past that INCREDIBLE bed of grass you assembled this trailer on. Holy shit man! That lawn is gorgeous! Great trailer, too!
The reason this channel is so popular is that this guy is living out the dreams of every guy that loves to tinker. I could watch this man for literal hours and love every second of it. This is an ASMR video by its own account lol
You do realise that it's Dagger
Nicely done and a pleasure to watch. The "new" trailer is not only aesthetically pleasing but also useful. I especially like the chrome powder coat treatment of the hinges.
Great Restoration, Those tires looked good for a few more miles lol
Beautiful restoration! Loving the chrome powder coating... Need to get myself a powder coating setup.
Very tidy job, looks like a new trailer. It's probably better quality than a lot of today's junk.
The trailer look very poorly at the beginning, it looks better now. I would seal the bottom of the wood on the trailer to prevent rotting the wood including the edges even though the top edges got some aluminum protection. Also I would make sure I had grease zerts for any moving hinges. Other than that the trailer looks really good. Stay safe and healthy thanks 😊
marine plywood, will be fine, but expensive
Aaaa
Wow he plays video games rebuilds motors and trailers daggwin is a man of all trades
So glad to see you back the trailer is beautiful.
Gave that trailer an RC car camera view. Looked like a full sized trailer at first haha
Lovely job, bit of sealer underneath and some more aluminium trim on the edges and your trailer is finito, grand job, love the classic farm trailer look!
Maybe install some tie downs for ratchet straps and like other people said seal the end grain of your plywood so it doesn't rot. You spent a lot of money on this project so you gotta protect it. Nice job! 🇺🇲
In rough shape but looks very well made for a non-commercial grade trailer. Very nice job!
Glad you like it!
Amazing work. Bonus points if you add drain holes and recessed tie downs!
Nice trailer but a few mistakes along the way others can learn from and avoid: 1) Seal endgrain of plywood especially the way you used it. 2) When affixing bolts drill through using correct size drill bit from both sides (have a pilot hole) to avoid tearout like @14:30 3) Pre-drill when screwing into endgrain like when affixing top rails at the end. 4) It's quicker and you get a better finish to roll lengthways not crossways for paint or stain. An extension handle helps as well so you don't have to walk around the large piece and use different angles - you can be straight and parallel with strokes / rolls. Evapo-rust can be re-used so that dirty pan liquid can be used for pre-soaking on the next project, a fine filter helps as well.
Great job, including the decision to go ahead with the restoration in the first place. Honestly, it would have been a tough call and hard to see "the good" through the bad. *Well done.*
Good thing them flock of birds didn't drop any of their disposable waste onto your freshly painted parts. Worse case scenario would've been on top of your head mate 😂
Who would have thought the wood would have been the most expensive part! Great restoration as always!
I love the design of this trailer, have never seen one like it. Great restoration.
Great job on saving a useful piece of lawn equipment. Thanks for sharing!
Now that's what i call a restoration job well done 👍
Well done, just perfect !! Thanks to share
Love this channel, was nice to see something different. Brilliant restoration
You need to include all sides of the boards when you paint to keep the wood in good shape longer. Love the colors you have chosen. I think you .should’ve painted the bottom side of the floor board water does a lot of damage to wood!. It’s beautiful you did a great job. Thank you 👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼🌵
That grass is beautiful ☘️🍀☘️🍀
That was a fantastic job!. The cost of that ply though, ouch. Really enjoyed that, thanks for sharing your talents.
When I first saw the cart I thought why bother just get a new one. As it progressed it became obvious what a good cart it had been. Well worth the effort.
Looks great. I'd look into some way to lock that tipping release though.
Well made trailer, good to see it put back in use
Excelente restauración completa de este remolque muy podrido, respetos desde Venezuela💯🤜🔥🤛👍🙏💯💯
An outstanding job, sir, just one last feature I suggest you add. Run a flat-head bolt through the hole at the top of the latch lever, & screw on a short "D" handle. It gives far better purchase, & is much needed, because the force required to release the latch will increase with the amount of weight in the bed, especially weight aft of the axle. It also helps if you choose to install a stiffer latch spring, which prevents accidental releases that can occur if the trailer bounces when moving over rough terrain. Overall, a very nice rescue, & if it performs as well as it looks, it will give you a lifetime of faithful service.
That's a neat little trailer! Nice yard too!
And...he does it again! Great job!!
Awesome build and restore I would love to have the plans for that for my yard trailer. Thanks so much.
Daggerwin, that turned out really sharp. Great job.
very nice job. i am an apprentice at a massey and merlo dealer and we did the brakes on a massey 1540. reminded me of your 1220. We have a 1755 with a cab and air conditioning! for sale at the moment lovely tractors kept getting confused with the 12 and 14 nuts being iseki ahah
I love restoring things too, just got done restoring a old trailer myself. It was an old John Deere trailer from the 70’s (I think). Pretty much the same trailer except mine is all metal. Took me about 5 months to do mainly because I’m lazy but it came out like brand new. I painted the outside in the traditional green but I did the inside in truck bed coating then painted it green over the coating. A friend of mine from school who lives on a farm bought it from me about a month ago and he’s been using it every single day.
Hell maybe I’ll start to make videos. I’m not as good as the other people on here though
Very nice restoration. I like that you towed a load with it.
Those hinges on the sides are pretty slick, nicer than my Harbor Freight "shove a 2x4 in this pocket" things that are too small to hold a 2x4 post without planing it down. Every time I see one of your videos it makes me want to get powder coating equipment, even though the "aerosol overhaul" is sufficient for most of my needs.
Absolutely loved this project. Great job !!!
Amazing job! i've been a subscriber for a while now and i look foward to and absolutely love every video you put out❤️ you've inspired me to clean up old things and restore them to their old glory
Love seeing more of these great videos
What a bargain. It looks just beautiful.
Nice job! You're quickly becoming one of my favorite channels. May I offer a couple of suggestions? You covered up most of the end grain in the marine plywood but also left a lot exposed. It will wick moisture in and eventually fail, marine grade or not. Maybe use one of the iron on veneers? Also, and this is trivial, but I'd love to see you get a cordless impact to save you from the constant use of a ratchet. Again, minor. Looking forward to your next project!
Thanks for the tips!
I agree covering up the edges. I rip 1/4” strips of hardwood and glue it on (Titebond 3 is probably the best for this application), clamping it overnight. If you can get white oak for the strips, it would be great, long lasting. Most woodworkers, especially boat builders, would have scraps you could get for free.
Beautiful Work. I appreciate the focus to detail and quality in all your videos.. Thanks
Excellent job once again dude 👏👏👏. And I'm lovin' the choice of vehicles you've got there to show off the trailer's usefulness 😁. 😎
Awesome job love how the trailer is designed!!
Along with suggestions from "johan", which are good ones, I'd add a bead of good caulking under the aluminum trim pieces, the edge of the plywood is like a straw with the ply's that are end grain. As it is now, it'll trap moisture and not let it dry out. That trailer is definitely worth the restoration, nicely done.
Fantastic restoration, love powder coating.
Loves the fs style hitch up near the end haha nice touch
That trailer turned out great.
Your videos are always such a pleasure to watch. I can easily picture myself doing one of your projects. Except for the mechanical ability, the technical skills, the equipment and tools, and the skill to use them, we're very much alike, you and I.
that was some transformation nice work
Good job daggerwin
Good job on the trailer
That was nice of you to load up the old mower onto the refurbished trailer and take it around the yard for a ride..🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I'm sure it enjoyed the scenery.. And well done on the refurbishment I might add.. ✌😁👌
Excellent job, looks great
"Honey, where's the toaster oven??" "No worries, love. Just doing some work to it!" 🤣
Just a idea get a socket adapter fro your drill and when tighting bolts into wood use that the head will sink into the wood leaving no bumps then you can just put wood filler overtop of the head
Nice resto.
Nice restoration! That trailer would be perfect for starting out on a survival challenge 😁
Great idea to add the costs. I often wonder. Next I'd like to learn what happens to the restorations after filming.
Very nice refurbishing project. I applaud your efforts and you now have a extremely nice cart. Problem is, I wouldn't want to use it and get it all marked up... Are we seeing the next project on the cart? Thumbs Up!
I would argue that's better than new. great job
Amazing just like factoree. You’re a genius.
I'd call it 'Trigger's Trailer' after Trigger's Broom :) BTW love the home powder coating.
Just loved this👍👍 Keep up the amazing work. Love watching these videos
New inner tubes and those old tyres will be good to go. Excellent job. I think I would have plated the edges of the plywood tailgate to stop splintering but hey, a new tailgate every now and again isn't an issue. I might have gone for the yellow/ green John Deere colour scheme. Would have made an awesome combo.
ii discovered your channel a few week ago and i like your jobs especially the fixing or restoretion of garden tractor..excuse me for my bad english saluti dall'italia
Great job! Looks fantastic.
You've got yourself a mini FS yard there. Looking good.
Now this trailer just needs a vintage lawn tractor restored in the same color, that would be so awesome together
I was just thinking the same thing when he loaded that old Westwood onto the trailer. Since it doesn't have a mower deck it would make the perfect prime mover for the trailer.
Personally I enjoy the commentary on restorations but the non verbal versions are excellent also
Looks so good.
Stay blessed folk' and have a great day
Beautiful job! Well done!!
Now your definitely ready to restore a massey fergusson 135 :D
Wow fantastic job well done
My best trailer restoration was a 50 year old GPO (BT) trailer in 1998. Still in regular us in 2023. Frame, leaf spring, brakes, suspension, rims, good. Just needed angle grinding, Hammerite, respray. Luckily found in a barn, sheltered from the elements.
You my friend are a master craftsmen. Well done
Good job on the trailer 👍
Thank you for the ❤ you gave me
Nice work.looks great.👍👍.From U.S.A.
Great work, looks brand new! I really enjoy your FS videos, and now I found this channel which is amazing. I saw you used a lot of locking-washers and some locking nuts, you should try out the Nordlock washers. I'm a mechanic in subsea equpiment/oil, and we've started using them instead of the locking washers and nuts. They're quite expencive, but can be re-used and they work much better than the other alternatives out there. I put some on the cowling on a KTM I used to have. The KTM's vibrate like crazy so I kept loosing the bolts holding them, untill I put the Nordlock on, never lost a bolt again.
Good for another 50 years outside! Great restoration!
I wish they had this trailer in the states. Nice job!
As always, a pleasure to watch you work. Results are always awesome👍
Thank you so much 😃
