Tadpole turns into toad with predatory ants!

This video is the 6th vivariumupdate of this now very lush piece of forest with an animated pond! This environment has been proved to be a hotspot for animals such as a juvenile tadpole; for it to grow up as an adult toad! The video also features the hunting ant colony Myrmica rubra inside!
Thank you for watching and have a fANTastic day!

  • So your telling me that tadpole survived and got that huge without your input?! Now that is truly is impressive. There must be an abundance of food, you really did do your homework well to insure predators had prey. And the Prey still look like they have strong numbers and no fear of them going extinct. And to top it all off, you constantly have new life just showing up out of nowhere! This vivarium really doesn't stop amazing me. How are the fish surviving without help? I have so many question, might need a update on the biological life map, everything is so expanding so fast.

Are you not afraid that the ants will be too many for the terrarium to hold (since you have 3(?) species in there), and how do you keep them from escaping? 2. How do you combat mould? 3. Could you make a video on how you construct one of these terrariums? I'd love to try and make one with native species of insects and plants :) Thanks for an amazing video!

  • I have a 55 Gallon vivarium and have to use a lid to keep leopard slugs from climbing over the top. I use an oil barrier and it keeps everything else in. I know you keep the top off of yours, so do you have this issue as well? If so how do you combat it?

  • Is the new species gonna be some kind of temnothorax species? Since you said they are small and could live in acorns

    • I know emerginatus! They are really cute... but can grow into immense colonies... would be unsustainable in the tank :(
