I raised my pet fire ants at the start of last year from just a single queen ant with eggs in a test tube. One year later, they inhabit a huge, beautiful setup and have gone through so much. That is awesome. I had an ant colony when I was young I would sit there and stare at it for hours watching them. Nature has always amazed me. Only if we can learn from them this world would be a different place. Thank you for sharing I enjoyed it very much.

The fact that this guy can house this many ants blows my mind as to how many ants there are out there.
As a child when kids were trying to fry ants with magnifying glasses. I was the kid exploring, catching, and studying different colonies of ants in my yard. I memorized even 30+ years later where those particular colonies would be at my old childhood home. Went back one year to reminisce and one colony of red ants still inhabited the back side of a old stump. It was crazy to think that colony was older than me and still working and functioning to this day.
They have system. In the holy Quran, there is a surah called An-Naml. The 27th chapter. It's related to the Solomon king who could hear the word of the ant. There something happens. You can check. The Solomon king was amazed by the system of the ant where the leader lead the army to hide in their place when the Solomon king army coming across their way..

Feed them Peanut butter and honey (separately) - I used to work on fire ant studies at university - we used peanut butter and honey traps to catch them - they LOVE it
The ants patiently waited for that plant to grow tall to plan their escape, and you thwarted it. The empire will plot your downfall.
While the Phoenix Empire were feeding on the glob of roach guts, one of the ants had several bumps on its head. I think those are mites seeing what they looked like on the Golden Empire. Go to this timestamp: 7:00 / 12:56

I don't really care for ants as long as there not in my house I won't kill them
If you catch and keep the ants in your house, they don't have the chance to go back to the nest and bring others back with them. Then you get to enjoy those caught ants until old age kills them off. It's good for a month or so. You can feed them and even put some soil into what you put them in so they can dig if they want to not hang out in the open. No where as good as having a queen, but worth the month or so of ant watching it'll give. A simple water bottle filled 1/3rd with soil. Add something like a very small piece of oreo with cream still on it and DON'T pinch your fingers when you grab those ants. Just softly hold your fingers against the sides of the ant if you can when picking it up and then drop into the bottles top. If your good, you'll only hurt maybe 1 in 50-100 ants with a nice soft hold between thumb & finger and normally only 1 leg injured at most. :) I did this at 12 years old with 2-litter soda bottles, only I picked up something like 150-200 ants in a 3 day time grabbing them on the side walk as they came out from 3-8 holes for the dead worm they were collecting. And those ants tunneled all the way down that 2-litter bottle some times hitting the edge so I could see into some tunnels! So much fun to watch!!! :)

You can plant bioluminescent mushrooms on Ember Island to make it full Avatar experience. Some species of mushrooms are from South America and since fire ants are from that continent, I think those mushrooms would propagate well. Of course if law of your country allows such.

I think the most likely explaination was the old queen died of old age
