I kept a queen ant for 70 days until she had roughly 100 workers. Watch as she lays eggs, raises her young and increases the size of the ant colony. We feed the colony chicken, honey, fruit flies and spider legs. If you like this content let me know and I'll be sure to make more videos just like this!
The winner of last weeks competition is @thesmalllives, I will get in contact with you shortly, thank you to everyone who participated I loved reading each and everyone's answer!
Thanks for watching guys, Eli from Ant Invasion is out!

    • @@ant.invasion how do you capture your fruit fly? how I do it is I get a smal glass or plastic cup or container thenthen I add some rotting fruit or peels then I place some transparent plastic put smal holes then place it close to my garbge so whenever I throw it all the fruit flys have only 1 option for food.

  • im kinda new. sooo when the queen doesnt have workers, do u feed her? and if u do, what do u feed her? 2nd question: what do u really feed the ants sometimes and always. is the chicken cooked? i mean i gave my other ant colony a cooked chicken and they didnt really like it. they only like mealworms and cockroaches

    • Hey man! No worries at all, I love to hear new people getting into ant keeping so good on you! There’s a few videos out there on KZhead including some that I’ve made which teach you how to raise your queen ants. First things first, you’ll want to identify your queen ant, most of the time they’re claustral queens. Meaning that she has enough fat and protein stored inside her to raise her first generation of workers, this first generation will be the ones that go out and find food to further fuel and grow the colony. This means you won’t have to feed her until she gets her first workers… woohoo! If she’s semi claustral like bull ants for example, you’ll need to offer her food before and while she has any brood. My go-to food of choice is usually little insects, especially pet store crickets they go down a treat. Otherwise yes go ahead and experiment with protein rich food that you eat yourself, like chicken, mince, nuts and seeds. Ant diets vary lots between different species so don’t be discouraged if they don’t even touch anything random you give them hahaha. Ant keeping is a lot to do with trial and error. I hope this was helpful, thanks for asking dude!

      @ant.invasion@ant.invasionАй бұрын
    • @@ant.invasion np man this was very helpful but what if the crickets jump out how u supposed to get em. plus, i had a fire ant queen i caught and by the time there were its first workers, it died

      @thehutofroblox@thehutofrobloxАй бұрын
    • Ahhh that’s a shame man sorry to hear that. Don’t feel alone though, this happens all the time in ant keeping, very unfortunate man! I usually pull the crickets apart before feeding my ants, especially smaller species, since they’ll get hurt if not
