Been working with resin for years and finally someone is gracious enough to share the finishing process. THANKS - I typed out the steps with items you need to pick up: AA 150 sandpaper 240 sandpaper C 800 grit sandpaper wet with water and dish soap P 1000 grit sandpaper wet with water and dish soap Turtle Wax Rubbing compound Turtle Wax Polishing compound
Thanks to u
What is with the letters on the sandpaper
Thank you!!
THANK YOU!!!
So we just can't use turtle wax only..we have to go through the process?
I know this is an older video, I just wanted to thank you for it! So many of the sanding and polishing resin videos use power tools. I'm just a small-time crafter and this is exactly what I needed, so thank you!!
SAME.
My arthritic finger hurt just watching them hands. Good job.
'Their' hands
Lol
You are right to the point, no beating around the B******* bush, Iv’e looked at like 10 vids and they all did the same mistakes, no info on what they are doing or why, no description of materials for whatever reason or even show how to do the job. A video I watched before this one claimed to show how to polish resin, NOPE, legit just some guy talking about his rotary tool without using it. You showed everything required in stages, no cuts, how is that so difficult for those other fools, thank you so much!
Super jolie le produit s appelle comment
It didn't work for me kind of disappointed
There's full description on this video
@@HFDay-qi6yc you can always try to brush a verry thin coat of the same epoxy on it
Just a warning that it’s a good idea to dip your resin item in water while sanding because the dust isn’t good to breathe in!
Thats why I where a repitory breather its just sare I do the same when I work with rewind 3d printing
Thanks for the tip!
299 like let me change that(chain)
Thank you... one of the best and clearest videos on the topic... no bs, no babble, no ‘you have to have this powertool’ nonsense. Cheers!
I saw another video on resin that had a very short polishing part, where they showed four separate numbers down in the corner, but didn't explain what they were for, and it was sped up. This is the FIRST video that lets me understand what the numbers were - it was the grit of the sandpaper. This is the first video I've found that clearly shows what to do and what products you use. Newbie here, so thank you so much for your help and clear instructions without ever saying anything.
I've never seen that before, it looks like glass. Thank you for sharing this amazing result!!!!!
OMG THANK YOU!!! This is exactly the issue I needed solved. thank you so much. They seem to keep getting tiny little fuzz particles in some of my resin coasters and I was trying to find a way to sand it down just a little bit and then polish it without having to add a whole another coat of epoxy. THANK YOU!!!!!
First video I have found that actually helped me figure out how to sand and polish my pieces. Thank you!
Thank you so much for showing the entire process, albeit sped up. I bought a different plastic polish to fish some resin pieces that have imperfect surfaces and it didn’t seem to do diddly squat even with proper sanding. I’m going to try the turtle wax ones now!
Could you let me know how long you sand for or what you are looking for before you stop at each stage? Thanks for the video, I’m thinking a timer might be a useful addition. Please let me know. 👍
I use a buff on perspex as is melts the surface slightly but metal polish is really good too!
I guess now it’s time for you to take a nap. Thanks for sharing. Good info
🙏🙏👍👍👍
Nice! Thank you for sharing!
yay finally a solution to have true clear resin
Can you also use this process with bigger resin products like for lamp resin when you don't have the machine?
Is it this specific brand of rubbing/polishing that works well with epoxy resin or can you use most kinds of rubbing/polishing compounds? Very new to this!
u can used other brand
I don’t know much but is it necessary to use different kinds of sandpaper? or is that optional. Also what kind of polish to I use ?
Rapaz, isso dá trabalho, mas o resultado é muito bom. Parabéns.
Akhirnya nemu juga tutorial yang ngga pake mesin, thx video nya bang, sangat bermanfaat.

It seems that making them by hand does not achieve a certain level of smoothness, there are still quite a few scratches that we can see in the backlit position. But nonetheless it is quite good without supportive devices!
Thanks. It is a very helpful video for beginners like me
will it be crystal clear at the end? like when the resin dries and its as clear as that?
Esto podría resultar para el visor de un casco? Pregunto porque parece ser el mismo material Buen video!
I'm making something for my wife out of epoxy resin, and I was wondering how long do you sand with one grit before moving on to the next grit? Also, would it be alright to start with 320 grit? Thank you!
P
You will know by each grit by seeing a consistant and distinctive sheen after using each grit. Remember its autobody paper so lets say 600 grit will be 600 stones per inch akd 800grit will be 800 stones per inch and so on.
capek juga bikin bening, tapi yang penting hasilnya dapet. thanks 👍
Thank you for sharing such a simple guide in polishing resin into like a glass you are truly helpful and wonderful ^^
U are welcome
Could you use this method to polish a scratched plastic crystal on a swatch watch?
after sanding and everything what would happen if you were to spray it with clear coat? instead of using the turtle wax and polishing compound?
Thank you! Couldn't figure out which polish to get!
I have all the grits and the rubbing compound except for the last polishing compound, will it still be clear or shiny if I don't use the last one?
Amazing job 💞 thanks for the advices
Any metal polish can be used
Good on you man! That is a lot of work!
Really Amazing work. Just wondering, How do you know that now it's time to change the grit??
What does the P stand for in P1000 grit? Is it a specific type of abrasive paper I need? Thanks for the video!
Particle
Hello, I am in Argentina and I would like to know what they put on the end of the sanding work so that it is so shiny, thank you
Can i use this resin without a pressure pot? I don't have the space for one
What grit are you using for both sand papers?
could you use the turtle wax ect after using a dremol 300 sander or do you have to use your sanding technique for this result
i tried this , the wax actually dulls the shine
I usually wet sand up to 1500 grit then start polishing
Gracias muy bonito te queda👍
Very Good. I always seen when they hurry or yack too much. I just love how you have done it. Thank You
Can u please tell me which polishing compound is best for resin jewellery art
Is there a particular type of cloth you are using to rub the turtle wax in? or is that just simple microfiber cloth?
Can this be done with any brand of epoxy resin? I'm gonna start a project with East Coast resin as it's the cheapest I can find in a gallon for my lamps I'll be making. Thanks for showing the actual polishing products you use!
This can be done with almost anything. It works with metal, plastics, paint and also printed stuff. This is a common method to get a mirror shine.
Super useful thanks a-lot. This solved my issue with foggy lenses on my Binoculars…
Hi I'm having this problem when I demoed the inner part is dual can I spray the mold with something shiny or spray the whole thing with an acrylic spray
Hi, I used Turtle Wax Polishing Compound on a piece of resin. I applied it with Dremel and my results are not what I expected. My piece is now cloudy. It was shiny and clear when I started. Any thoughts? Thank you.
Same here did you figure it out?
Using a Drexel to speed up the process is not really a good idea - this guy never used one and got those results. I know because I tried using a Dremel to polish a digital watch plastic display. Never really became glass clear and had concave pits. The key to this process is understanding that one is turning mountains into molehills in a uniform manner on the surface one is polishing. That being said, it’s GO BIG, go manual or go home
Gracias!! 😊 Saludos desde Monterrey Nuevo León México!..🤗
Hola
This is really nice... is there a way to do it that is faster/not as labor intensive for hands/wrists? I have issues with the nerves in my hands and arms and don't know if I'd be able to do this :( can I use electric sander just as well?
Of course you can use tools instead, and depending on where you start, you might need to only use the last steps of sanding. If you have deeper cuts you want to remove entirely, you need to start from the bottom with the coarsest sandpaper first, that saves time. Then work your way up to the finest. I use polishing paste instead of turtle wax, you get them in different grids and most importantly it leaves no residue so I can glue bits together afterwards and it will stick.
@@sandcastle2069if i use sand paper and polishing wax it will work or not?
@@sandcastle2069 thank you for this very helpful tip !
Me puso hasta la madre tu pranganez, eso de utilizar pedaceria de hojas de lija...
I have done very similar with Woodglut designs.
What is the name of chemical in which he is putting green liquid
Dá pra fazer assim com a lente dos óculos
do you have to do anything else to where as a pendant?
Epoxy resin kis shop sa milti ha???
How long does it last?
Thanks for making the video 👍 Will this work on Epoxy resin?
I have seen a lot of polishing videos for resin, only this one is helpful for me, availble tools and simple way thanks
🙏🙏🙏👍
Thanks for this informative video..But have you used sand paper for rubbing?
Thank you so much for sharing!!
Is there anyway to achieve this clear effect while remaining the raw textures on the resin?
Use a shiny mold vs a matte one. If the silicone on the inside is shiny then the whole piece will come out shiny and all of this is completely unnecessary. If the inside of the mold is matte/no shine then it will come out dull like this and require sanding/polishing. Usually molds come shiny by default and only get dull over time
Maravilloso! Me preguntaba donde podria conseguir esos pulidores Turtle o algo similar y accesible. Saludos desde Chile
Acho que sim
Itu d kasih air biasa pa air sabun gan ? Sama da jnis resin anti gores g bt pelapisan sangaaat tipis ?....

Cuantos minutos empleas en pulir la pieza por favor? Para que te de ese brillo?. Gracias
Can you also dye resin like red?
Muito bom perfeito 👍👌👏👏👏
What kind fo cloth/towel did you use?"
Thats sand paper
Sand paper
Can i Buy in mercado libre?
Since the video is sped up a bit, I was curious as to how long you will sand each side for? Any specific length of time? Also, I'm curious about why you jumped from 240 up to 800. I always heard Polishing needed a Gradual Increase.
True, and p1500 and p 2000 also exist
It’s all about the time you are willing to use and what you have at hand. Jumping steps only means you have to work twice as much with the next sandpaper.
does it work for color epoxy resin?
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Gracias! Realmente interesante!😉👍🏻
👍👍👍 Gracias.
So helpful! Anyway, can I replace the C800 ? So difficult to find it in my country. What is your suggestion? Thank you..
Amazon
untuk kreasi seperti itu.. pakai resin bening atau resin yang keruh??
Resin Bening mas
I tried by sanding from 150 grit to 7000 grit with machine. But still cloudy 😢. Any suggestion would be appreciated.
Wat bout the markes which was came use of regmark
Would this work if you used only the polishing compound? Or must you use the rubbing compound first?
HE LOOK LIKE AN IDIOT TO YOU? Y WOULD HE NOT DO THT WAY IF IT WAS POSSIBLE
I dunno. You sound like an idiot... yet you still leave comments!
Ow
If I don't have the rubbing compound can I still achieve your results using just the polishing compound after the sanding? Thanks for this video, I tried without success using 80, 120, 320 dry and 400, 800, 1000, 2000, 3000 wet and polishing compound. Did not use soap and considerably less water. I will be giving your method a try without the rubbing compound due to being quarantined.
@@jillboehm-reyna834 so the sanding doesnt work? Ive been sanding this one piece a lot and it looks a bit worse and cloudy than when i first started
oye me gustaría saber si también se puede utulizar esta técnica para el acrílico superior de mi Auto Smart que es oscuro.
Excuse me, what is the function of each of the 2 products you use?
Esta excelente el video se puede a mano por que la mayoria sube pero con maquinas.
