About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.

  • You are so close to having all the structural issues with the château sorted. And being at the stage to move onto the gardens is wonderful! The gardens are the gift wrap on the package that set the anticipation for what is inside. It is a joy to watch unfold.

  • Bunny Guinness, who's the niece of David Austin, Austin roses, has a KZhead channel where she explains how when she started her garden, she cloned 1000 boxwood from 3 plants. One year later she started planting them. You wouldn't think by looking at her garden, she did it on a budget. She's worked in royal gardens, including King Charles residence and shares a world of knowledge. I know Terry will accept nothing but perfection when it's done. Well done to all. P.S. Mom needs a bigger, newer tiller. Bless her heart.

    • Yes, those agapanthus will multiply too, so you can add them elsewhere. Also now the hydrangeas are settling in they also can be propagated for more cuttings. With time you’ll have an abundance of plants to enjoy. Can’t wait to see the gardens planted but of course all the irrigation, edging and paths and other hardscape needs to go down first before the reward of planting. 😍😍🌺🌹🌸🌻

  • I have never watched a traditional walled garden being created from a blank slate. It is fascinating and so much work!   • I day Jonathan will be sitting on a bench in the garden, a grandchild on his lap, telling it how Nana, uncle Terry and Ash and him created the garden. It looks stunning.   • I have to say that this video brought tears to my eyes as I watched Jonathan work on the layout of the garden. This garden is going to be a living, growing place where hopefully generations of your family can sit, reflect, tell stories, and admire the flowers. Jonathan can tell his children and grandchildren how it once was a blank slate when he helped his grandma and uncles turn it into a beautiful grand garden and how the chateau went from an abandoned and sad building to a beautiful, grand home. xx

  • How exciting, to go from a plan on paper, to it laid out in the actual space. It will now come alive, with the meandering pathways, and plants that will provide texture, scents, movement, and beauty; which in turn, will attract more living things to come and visit and build homes and add to the overall vibrancy of the garden.   • String, sticks, chalk, rototiller and tractors: what you are doing in your soon to be glorious garden is exactly how my American Great Depression born father started organically raising produce. I know exactly how much work you have done here, how much your muscles hurt, since I learned at my fathers side from 4 years onwards. My first driving tractor lesson was on a 1940 something tractor with all the stiff gears. Good practice for later driving almost any vehicle. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

  • I love being able to see your visions for the chateau come to life - thank you for sharing it all with us. I know what extremely hard work it is to precisely lay lines out in dirt, well done! Your end results look fantastic. That garden will be gorgeous! Ash, I assume you're aware, but just in case... if the wildflowers are allowed to dry out in place, they will naturally drop their seeds in early Autumn. Although the birds and the weather will be off with some, they will multiply naturally over the years. It can't hurt to re-seed as well.

  • My goodness what hard ground. The plans look amazing it’s going to be glorious can hardly wait. I love gardening so seeing a garden come to life with be happiness to the soul. The wild flowers look beautiful I love the pink cosmos which means world/people in Greek. Well done everybody capability Brown will be jealous.
