This is the exact kind of review I was looking for. Knew the difference for the Wireless Blue voice was the software. I play a lot of Warzone on Xbox and host quite a bit of online meetings for work on my LT. So I was looking for a headset that I can use for both all day at work and evening for play and this seems like a clear winner for me. Thanks for the great review!
I know it's a long time, but wasn't the tightness a problem? The pressure point* to use for the whole day?
@@andreitalmazan6164 Hi Andrei, sorry for the late response but yes. It took awhile for me to remember this but I do remember the tightness being a slight issue. However, since I used them most of the time during the pandemic for gaming and work; I got used to it. It also depends how you wear them. The pressure point to me comes from the bottom of the cups. So if I wore the cups a little to low, the pressure was below my ears towards the end of my jaw bone and got to me. However, to offset it, I adjust the cups slightly more up and centered and that worked out better. Another factor that can take into play is the material of the cups. They automatically come with the soft leather set on but they also come with another set of cotton like material. Full disclosure, they don’t block out much noise like the leather ones do but they do let your ears ventilate. Which helps. I do have to say this was my first professional headset purchase aside from turtle beaches but I can say, since making this comment back then, I haven’t had the need to purchased any other brand. I still use them till this day. Hope this helps!

what i did get though, is why you wouldn't recommend it for playstation? is there a general problem with playstation sound for you or only with that exact headset?
@@lukizzle1676 nah, it's just many playstation headset drop in volume. I recommend something with an amp for PS4
In Australia these have just gone on sale for 60 bucks (USD 40 ish). Definitely gonna pick these up. Great review!

@@TheTechne i had arctis 3 i have cloud stinger cores, cloud alpha s, and g pro, and for comfort hyperx cloud alpha s is the best but idk why i keep returning to g pro, (i have g pro headset from january 2020, and alpha s from April 2021, and stinger cores from october 2018), would not recommend stinger in terms of sound

Dr torretz, is this headset comfortable when wearing specs & sweaty? Mic and gaming audio? Can use with ps4? I want to buy one plz help me
jai krishna comfort is vary subjective. But the headset is comfy for me and the wire attaches via usb or a single jack in for that reason I cannot say if it works 100% with ps4 or not. All I can say is that it works well on my gaming pc

jai krishna on pc it feels really good and we even have an options for EQ in the software so you can make them sound the way you like it which is awesome. The microphone is allso above average as far as headphones go
Hi, yesterday I decided to buy some "good" headphones, looking around I've learned that this pair it's at the same price of the hyperx cloud alpha, right here, in your opinion which one could prevail? even the steel series arctis 5 come very close (like 3€ more), for what should I go? did you suggest an "audiophile" one, like the sennheiser hd 599? Wow, I had watched the other reviews about this headset, but your review is very specific about durability and I really need such stuff. I had Asus Rog Strix wireless headset and it, unfortunately, broked from its tinny connection. I wish this one lasts for me longer. Thanks again.

Thank you for spending so much time on comfort. After buying and returning sennheiser PC 373D exactly because these pressure points (jaw + on the glasses) I am now pretty much paranoid.

I'm looking at the G Pros and the Phillips SHP9500 for gaming and also editing my videos. I plan to buy a Yeti Nano for my commentary when I live stream since the headphone/mic combo is far better quality than a headset.. Is it worth me spending that extra $30 for the X's if I'm already getting a separate mic for commentary or should I save that $30 towards the Yeti Nano? Also, what do you think about the SHP9500 compared to the G Pros. Appreciate your time and help :)

The Techne Ok thanks. I’m still quite confused though. With this version, you still get the software as you have the usb dongle I’m assuming. So does the x only add the blue voice or does it add the software or the blue voice and more options.
Also, which would you recommend: cloud 2 / cloud alpha or g pro x

Rosé Black g pro x as the mic is a lot better and they have similar comfort levels and sound quality

yeah, i really wish they didn't such a nice headset. but I'm with you, I cant stand that pressure point at all!
Nice!! Got m as well based on this review and compared them via 3.5mm jack with about 10 headphones. Soundwise arctis 5 and cloud come close . Arctis ,a little less highs. Alpha little closer soundstage both less sound isolation. The fit is snug tho, pretty tight but passable. Buildwise this thing is a tank, bit on heavier side. Sound is great, very clear compared to pretty much everything tested.
do u still recommend them to this day?
@@ExitiumD woah its been 8 months already... yes , they look brandnew and sound fantastic. The fit got a bit looser and now they are perfect for 5hour+ sessions. Wires, connectors, everything looks brandnew eventhough i used them a lot, no issues.No squiky cracks or other sounds on m, very solid.

So nice review!! but i would have to say that the g pro clamp my head so bad and make me damage when I wear glasses so wierd that you don't. I'm going to try the cloud II to see if there's a difference

techne, can you review the 2018 G pro headset? The pair that came out before the X. I LOVE them, and want to hear your comparisons. I know the X is heavily updated but the G PRO from 2018 was really really underrated and comparable to cloud 2 and cloud alpha head to head constantly.

the reason I say that is just about all 3.54 headsets on ps4 are very low in vol. so I recommend something with an amp, or wireless on ps4. BTW thank you for watching my video's :)

how haven't you reviewed the LOGITECHCH G935? I am about to buy a headset mainly for my Switch and MacBook air, I've watched a lot of your reviews (great ones btw) I am stuck in these three models Steelseries artics 1 wireless, steelseries artics3 and the most expensive of three the g935, it is kind of a big investment for me so I want to choose well, I am not sure if the big difference in the price is really a big difference in sound/mic quality, you may never read these but it is worth the shot haha ;)

How was the noise removal on the mic?
Well I have the older G Pro and it has the same inline control. And once you use it for a while you don't have to look at it. You know where it is, so you can adjust on the fly. I just make sure that whenever I use it, the jack inside the headset is oriented in a certain way so the control is oriented a certain way.
