  • In order to catch fish you also have to fish in an area that has a fair amount of fish.

    • 90% of fish are in 10% of the water. People been saying that for 100 years. If you can find them, catching them is the easy part.

    • I’ve had some pretty upsetting experiences using line 6lb or less bc I tend to only hook the fat boyz when I’m using my ultra light setup. And anything over 4lb’s has been able to easily snap the 6lb line on that rig. Then not only am I out a fish, but I’ve also lost a lure, and, worst of all, that poor fish now has a hook and artificial bait potentially stuck in them permanently😢

  • What do you qualify as “thin line”? Does braided lines work as well? (saw that you used nylon). And I’m in Sweden so northern pike is everywhere, and if you don’t use that metal clip on thing that connects to the lure they’ll just bite the line off right? Asking cuz everyone around me and my fishing buddy seems to be catching huge fish all the time, and us two… not so much…

    @glauirider1819@glauirider1819Ай бұрын
    • The metal lip on thing is called a swivel I love them for changing out lures without having to tie them on every time but it won't help you if your catch is breaking line I like braided but there's nothing wrong with some good mono line

      @jefferyburns5808@jefferyburns5808Ай бұрын
    • usually you dont need any sort of swivel or wire unless youre fishing for toothy fish like snakehead, bluefish, ect. get some mono, no more than 12 pounds for most freshwater fishing. lighter tackle always catches more fish. learn a basic line to hook knot. keep the tag ends short. tight lines!!

I have a small lure, I tried top-water bait and sink bait, and I switched spots every 20 minutes or so, can someone please tell me if I am doing something wrong or its just the weather. By the way the weather has been rainy, windy and cold. So once again please let me know.

  • Do you recomend ever eating Blue-gill?

    @AntOAnt-ez8gp@AntOAnt-ez8gpАй бұрын
  • I hate perch so much. If I’m trying to catch bluegill as bait for bass all I catch is perch. Then I somehow get spiked even though I’ve dealt with them for years. Then they also barely move when you use them as bait so I can’t catch a bass. It’s a lose lose situation😂

    @FishingAddictNE@FishingAddictNEАй бұрын
    • Thats just a skill issue, btw yeah they are probably a bit boring in america, but here in sweden we can catch 8.3 Pound perch, My personal best on perch is 6.3 pounds, and trust me they FIGHT, plus handeling a perch is VERY easy so idk what u on about haha.

      @swefishers9529@swefishers952927 күн бұрын
    • They don’t get as big in the US and the reason why they’re annoying to handle is because they’re so small that the spikes are always right next to your finger😂

  • What size reel and what size is the hook you are using for the baid? When I go small light rubber baits and such I can barley get the line out there. Only way is if I use a small bobber to give some weight or go bigger and heavier hook but then its a bit big for the smaller bait/lure. Using lb mono line and a 2000 size reel.

    @travisrolison9646@travisrolison9646Ай бұрын
    • If I'm not wrong, I believe he's using a 1/4 oz. Beetle Spin without the blade (great lure btw). 1/4 is a little too big for my setup and I usually run a 1/8, 1/16, or 1/32 oz. jig head. My actual set up is a 6 ft. ultralight rod with a size 500 reel. I use 4 lb mono, but I will sometimes go up to 6 lb if I need a little bit more strength. One common misconception about fishing imo is everything has to be big/strong, and this simple isn't true. You can actually get away with catching double digit fish on medium-light action poles with 8 lb mono. I will say however, when you're using a lighter setup, you have to work the fish in slower so you don't snap your line. Hope this helps!
