  • I grew up in the 80s fishing the Haulover Pier on the EC of FLA, before commercial fishing ruined things and before limits were enforced except Kings had to be 12". Not raining on your parade, but those "nice"macks you got would have been throw backs in my day because we knew by days end we already had to clean 30 or more 5lb Macks between my Dad, Pop, Uncle and I. The schools of bait would stay on the pier for entire tides because the inlet was right there. The bait would pass through the pier heading south, hit the inlet a few hundred yards north, and scream BACK towards the pier because of all the snook and tarpon at the inlet. We would have 4-5 hours of getting hit every 3rd cast before the tide would change and things would slow down. By slow down, I mean the Macks would leave, and the huge schools of Blues and Jacks would come in. Good times, miss those days.

And the person who said things about the Asians is definitely true. They have like 3 to 5 rods in the way or in the way taking up space makes it hard for other people fishing . Or what rod for for what. Please bear with me, I fish lakes Ontario and erie for everything from perch to kings and have 45 rods so having the correct rigs is important to me. Looking for forward to fishing the gulf shores. I enjoy movies Want to buy the correct stuff.

Every night during winter or colder season the tailor (blue fin) would be packed with fisherman to the point within 5metres there would be 7-8 fishermen. Closed down now and sad to say that pier fishing in Queensland gonna be a thing of the past.
