  • I was at the Russell Fields pier a few weeks ago. All kinds of people asked me what I was fishing for. Being an old Missouri boy, I had no idea what I might catch, but I do know that all I was really doing was feeding the little thieves. I just started telling people I was going for politician fish. They asked what type that was, and I said, "Well, they always seem busy, but they just steal from you; leaving you broke"

  • My biggest issue with pier fishing is inconsiderate people. When it's busy they'll cast all over you, crowd you out of a spot, and step all over your gear if you aren't careful.

  • Can’t get enuf of your vids! Been on ‘em for years. Please start using a permanent polarizer filter so we can take true advantage of the clear water! I use them on several of my 7 GoPros… (One of which is lying on the bottom at the Gulf Shores pier) 17:59 I even use color correction filters for when I drop my cams below the waves. Enhances the finished product. Thanx, Brant! No, I am not interested in starting my own channel… I fished the PNS beach pier many years ago and that clown car of dudes barking orders at each other made me buy a boat! Honestly! Best fishing move I ever made…

  • I know you probably mentioned it somewhere, but can you please inform us on the rod/reel combo you are using to include the braid line # and brand along with any lures you were using for the day. I am looking at migrating to Florida (currently live in Virginia) and want to start building up my inventory and gear for the Florida bite...believe it or not, the lures and fishing equipment used in Virginia doesn't work in Florida and viceversa (with the exception of spoons/gotcha plugs). Thanks...

  • Here's what i learned about fishing over my life time. If you're into fishing or just want to try, fishermen are usually the nicest most informative people who will go way out of their way to set you up and get you into fish. Just go to your local shop and just ask questions. By the end of your experience you'll have a dozen places to fish, what and how to fish for whatever is running. When you get to the spot you choose, just ask another fisherman if you have questions. I'm telling you , I'm not saying ever person will be informative but don't give up. Fishing will give you a great feeling after a day of it.
