The story of Night Birde breaks my heart. Her no good husband divorced her in 2019 when the Dr said she only had 3-6 months to live. Between the divorce & cancer, she couldn’t handle it and had a breakdown. The Dr was wrong & she fought her way back for 3 more yrs. She encouraged others & became famous before she passed. RIP Night Birde you were & are an inspiration. Such a beautiful soul. RIP
It's the 1 audition & shared msg that stuck & brings me to tears each time. So much sympathy & yet strength for her to suffer a divorce during cancers making her so fragile & needing her partners love & care. Sure hope she had family & friends. R.I.P my dear 😪🙏❤

Having stage 4 bone cancer (I was told in September 2020 that I had a 2% chance of making it to my 50th birthday), I immediately connected to Nightbirde. Not only did I think she was a beautiful young lady, but a beautiful soul. When I heard she decided to drop out of the competition to focus on her health, I cried HARD and then when I heard that she passed away in February, I cried again. But her faith and her spirit will live on forever. I didn't know that her husband of 5 years divorced her after her diagnosis and I pray he has lived to regret that decision and ask for forgiveness. By the way, 18 days ago, I celebrated my 51st birthday. So as Nightbirde said "A 2% chance is better than a 0% chance!"

Nightbirde has inspired my 14-year old daughter too. She keeps fighting against the bullies due to this incredible woman. She would have been such an awesome artist if we had not lost her. Rest in peace, precious woman.
I'm guessing the bullies are in school. A lot of kids do home schooling. It's an option that can bring peace.
Home schooling can only work for people who can afford it and stay-at-home parents who can be there themselves. I'm a single parent, struggling to get by. So unfortunately not an option.

Absolutely. I cannot watch her appearances on AGT without crying. And just like the crowd and all the judges, I feel touched so deep within my soul. I also get completely silent, captivated by her pure soul. I know she has a very special place in Heaven. One must be absolutely heartless not to be touched by her halo. And all these people are beautiful. As people say, our Creator plucks His most beautiful flowers first. But Nightbirde, she just inspires so many people on so many levels with her humble words of perseverance. She is that person who wins the race of life and then turns around to carry her fellow fighters over the finish line. One in a million. No money is worth who she was/is. That is why in my eyes she will always be the overall winner of AGT...
I just have to say, what a beautiful and tasteful way to remember these folks. It’s as if they all got their own little memorial and they deserve that and so much more.
I always cry when I watch Nightbirde sings. Her voice is magical and her strength to continue going is phenomenal. May her soul continues to Rest In Peace.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017 on my 49th birthday. My husband left me in the thick of my battle in 2018. There has been nothing about the last five years that’s been ok. I saw her addition when it aired and I cried for hours the most cleansing cry of my life. It was the first time in five years I had hope and peace and forgiveness in my heart. She passed away on my birthday this year. As my battle with cancer comes to its end I play her videos and song everyday and pray I can show half as much dignity and grace. I now listen in the dark for the birds to sing.

I’m so glad she helped you heal. Are you in remission? My Aunt had breast cancer. She fought for 5-7 years. She saw her daughter get married and held her first grandson. She also got remarried to a wonderful man Unfortunately we lost her in 2011.

I was not prepared for Nightbirde's performance to absolutely crush me. From her song, to simon giving her the golden buzzer, to her quote at the end. I was in literal tears. I also remember when Neal Boyd ran for office in missouri. I had no clue he was on AGT or had such an amazing voice.

Poor Skilyr...i remember when she first auditioned, so beautiful, i could watch her audition 1000 times, just loved her...its crazy how fast our lives can spiral out of control, i know first hand... especially those who were so full of promise...hope we all continue to grow and be there for the people who you know need it the most, in their darkest hours where people avoid them, until its too late.

Nightbirde was a wake-up call to everyone that came across the footage of her audition, be it live in that audience, on television, or online several weeks after the fact (as I did). She was so articulate and passed along not only a contagious positivity, but even moreso a wisdom way beyond her years in that song and her inspirational words. It left everyone breathless. Especially in our divisive times, it's almost impossible that one figure becomes almost universally beloved, but Nightbirde accomplished that in just five minutes. She'd better have been given her pair of wings when she arrived up there.

I saw Nightbird for the first time shortly after one of the best friends I’ve ever had passed away from breast cancer, she was only 30 and we had served in Iraq together. Nightbird sent such a beautiful message that was on par with everything she was about. I wasn’t and have not been the best person and I was the rebellious one to her complete and utter positive personality. Nightbird and her song hit me right in the feels. Their personalities were very similar. I still have Nightbird’s song on every playlist I have for training (not the army anymore I’m a dog musher and spend a lot of time on the trail which is my own therapy). RIP NIGHTBIRD RIP NATALIE

@@callacreek6711 I’m pretty sure it would’ve been the cancer that did the killing. The treatments make someone sick because they are very aggressive at targeting cancer cells, but also can damage healthy cells, therefore the person gets sick from the treatment. Once they get to a certain point in the treatment however, the treatment itself becomes too much for the body to handle, this still doesn’t mean that it’s the treatment that kills them! The CANCER is the ultimate killer in the end because it makes the body too weak to handle the treatment any longer! Do some research before spouting off bullshit about $700,000 being wasted on trying to save someone’s life! Because I can guarantee you’d do the same thing if you were trying to keep your child or yourself alive!

She is the only person I've ever seen for only 5 minutes in my life but she stands out and shines brighter than anyone I've ever known. Neal was a family friend for as long as I can remember. And it breaks my heart every time I see him! He was the most amazing person, loved his momma and family unconditionally and was the sweetest person you'd ever meet! We all loved him so much!
This is beautiful. I'll never forget the Doctor and most of all Nightbird. Her words are impactful, important, heartfelt. She made the world look at it self with different eyes.
I love it when Nightbirde came on stage and she sang so deeply and so beautifully, I loved it how everyone just stayed silent when she sang and it took a few seconds for them to clap when she was done. Even Simon had gotten a few tears! Rest in Peace Nightbirde.❤️🙏

Nightbirdie story and battle with cancer is heart wrenching. Her song - "It's Okay" is quite inspiration for everyone out there battling with one sickness or the other. So sad she didn't pull thru cancer. She is such a sweet soul with a beautiful voice. RIP to her and many others that passed on. They set their feet in the hallway for Musical Legends.

Yes, Dr. Brandon Rogers was one of Hampton Roads best and finest. The Riverside Brentwood Center and our community miss him so much.
Sad his life ended too early....his singing was phenomenal. Handsome too. He had a great singing career ahead of him. I'm from Richmond VA and remember his passing well. The brass ring was within his reach.

@Nancy Samuelson the friend fell asleep at the wheel after working along shift. I don't think it was intentional. There was another person in the backseat. After the crash the driver pulled both people out of the car. He is truly remorseful. His career in medicine now is to do everything to honor Rogers. He will have to live the rest of his life with what happened to Rodgers.

The story of night bride breaks me every time. It’s weird of me to say this but even if she is gone, she is gone for good she just didn’t deserve all of this, all this pain in her life it was an end to all the suffering!! She had an angel voice you will be always be remembered girl.

Sometimes, God puts these Angels on earth for a purpose. Jane was a true blue family member, and friend. She fought hard, because she truly loved others in her life, wherever she went. A bright life to others. She left a great message for all. Love others, be happy, and try to make others happy. As a counselor told me when I went through a bad sad spell. "I could tell, you'd get teary...it's the ones who smile the brightest, that are breaking inside." So true, at that time, and there were tears, just below the surface. Those days are gone, thank Michael, my counselor angel, and Jesus, who helped me hang in there. Like I always say, There is always a way...NEVER give up!
