@Savvi C she should've been supportive of her daughter instead of holding her back just bevause she can make it past without her. She was using her daughter bc she knows she cant do it alone. A proud mother would have NEVER hesitated to let her daughter through and the fact that the daughter had to beg was unreal. She didnt even need to say a word to let herself through if the mother was genuine about her daughter having potential. But what she cared about was HER dream. Even if in the end she let her daughter through, it was out of acceptance of the fact she can never fulfill her own dream. She wasnt genuinely proud of her daughter. And the fact that THE DAUGHTER HAD TO COMFORT THE MOTHER.

@Savvi C it's not about if you have a dream, it's about not dragging your own daughter with you down that rut. She's a mother, she should've known better by that age than have her daughter beg for permission to go through as if the mother had full control on where her daughter should go. And even if she let her go, it wasn't as genuine as a proud mother should feel. It was like she envied her own daughter's potential. The point of it is, it's not about her. She's not a teenager. If you want to further argue i suggest you read the majority of the comments to get the point

It's not a matter of opinion whether she was jealous or whatever, she wasn't proud of her daughter. You'd immediately recognize if she was just by the look on her face and if she motivates her daughter to go through.. saw any of that? No right? She doesn't need to confirm what she felt by word that's why an audience i there to JUDGE them from the way they project themselves.
@Savvi C you yourself can't even tell if she was proud. "she was PROBABLY" That to me tells that even you are uncertain about how she truly felt because it didn't come off as genuine. You only proved my point andthe rest of the people who have watched this and thought the same thing. It's not a matter of ideals either, it's about being genuine.

I can't believe a mum being so selfish that she won't immediately say "YES, GO AHEAD!" to her daughter, instead of breaking down right in front of her daughter making her feel guilty of her decision.
I guess it's because, to her, their relationship is more of a friendship rather than that of a mother and daughter. So she's only as supportive as a friend than a mother. She seems to be the type to ignore her age and responsibilities out of fear of "being old", so she raises her daughter in a way that she can have a friend that allows her to stay "in the loop" of "the youth", lol. But yeah, it's not a good look. It's also annoying how she kept shutting her daughter up at the end because she so obviously wanted to be the one to make the decision to let her go solo so that she didn't look like the selfish one in that moment, even though she already made herself look that way by storming off in the first place.

It's a bit impressive that they put it all together so fast, determination and talent of management but.. I'm surprised that Simon actually let it through because it was still quite horrendous.. A bit better with Ash indeed, she can sing alright but some of the people from that group should drop out

The daughter's voice I LOVE, just her pitch and tone and I'm not an expert on vocals but I love it
The first group have my support all the way. The producer of the group has my full respect aswell for putting his pride aside and agreeing to let his two buddies perform while he works on the music they sing. Even if he's not on stage he's still as valuable as the other two singers/rappers. Also that just shows how strong their friendship is. The mother daughter duo on the other hand : the mum is a bit childish and quite selfish, to risk blowing a great singing opportunity for her daughter who has the talent to be a recording artist, just cos she wants to be in the spotlight too. It's almost the equivalent of parents putting their kids into pageants and child acting as a means to live a life of fame through their kids on top of boosting their own shallow egos.

The daughter is playing the role of the mother, 100%. On the surface their relationship looks fun and great, but it seems to me like the daughter is going to have a hard time progressing in life if she is constantly thinking about her mothers over the top emotions. Underneath the surface they have quite a co-dependant relationship. The mum is probably gonna have a hard time letting her spread her wings and be independent. The mum just seems to lack emotional maturity and is actually quite emotionally manipulative. She’ll end up pushing her daughter away eventually if she keeps behaving like this. The daughter will end up having enough with the drama and emotional meltdowns. Totally toxic relationship.

Cheetah Drawz but part of parenthood is giving your children the chance when the opportunity rises. If the mother couldn’t sacrifice herself for her daughter’s life and maybe, an incredible career, i think it would be considered selfish.

@@cheetah2601 I understand from the whole parental view that she wanted to be with her daughter but I don't think it was out of embarrassment for her daughter more like she wanted the judges to see her nonexistent talent... and instead of letting her daughter thrive and possibly become more she was dragging her down because she couldn't get her own way.

@@LuisRamirez-en3bm I get that and there definitely is harmonization, but for me it's the same thing when it comes to dances and there's 7 dancers and only 4 get a "solo" or part in the course of the dance. It's more of a feeling of completion for me.

She didn't realise she was dragging her daughter down, when she finally realised she needs to let her child go out on her own, she just couldn't process it, because they are so close and they've been doing it together.
It's a shame she didn't take Sharon's idea of having them perform with the mother being the DJ doing some backup vocals, they might have gone further as a duo that way.
@Pitch Black It's not wrong for her to want it but her own desires shouldn't come at the expense of her daughter's happiness when her daughter wanted it so desperately. The mother already had a chance to pursue her dreams when she was young. Maybe she didn't succeed, but many people don't, the important part is that she had the opportunity to try, now it's her daughter's turn. It would have been really wrong if she had taken that away from her. Maybe the daughter could have been a little more understanding of her mother's feelings though. If I was in her position, I would have said something like, "I really really wanted us to go forward together, I would choose to stay as a duo if it was an option, but staying in the competition means everything to me and the only other option they've giving us is that we _both_ get eliminated, so isn't it better if at least one of us still has a chance." I don't blame her for how she reacted though.

That's a narcissistic parent right there. She has a toxic overbearing relationship with her daughter. She's trying to be more than just her mum, she's trying to be the Only One. It's hard to watch her literally hold her daughters face and force her to feel bad. She's not a good mum.
