Very beautiful! I never would have suspected it was made from old CDs! It lots of ideas. Be well.
What everybody wants to know is the purpose of the boiling process. Is it to soften to make easier cutting or sterilise the discs before making your creations. I like the outcone from your efforts 😊
on first look i would say boiling seems to get the printing off (the floating debris?) and also seems to soften the disc for cutting so they dont break
@@chlorone Tried this, didn't work, even boiling again for longer. if the printing comes off, so does the foil layer, and it barely comes off.
@@greengrendel was it a blank or a commercial? Prolly work better with blanks.
Obviously to make it softer to be able to cut with scissors
@@christined4842 the water would have to be boiling to soften these discs and they would cool when removed from the water making it impossible to cut with scissors. They wont retain their heat once out of water. Have you tried breaking or snapping a CD they are tough. The fact they are thin and flat helps the heat disperse. All hot or boiling water would do is buckle their shape and make the foil layer come off the disc so I think its less complicated. The only way you could cut these discs is with a hacksaw or a pair of Garden secatuers
So beautiful reuse of old cds🤩
Very creative idea. Beautiful result. Thank you for sharing.
wonderful eco new idea! I find items at home and use this idea with pleasure!

Ingenious. So cute. ❤❤❤
Stunning!!!!😍✌
Totally Cool ! I have seen where people have made Chimes out of these for Outside in the Yard or Garden & added Gems, Sequins, Ribbons, etc. You could even hang in a Window & give as Gifts. Thank You. Take Care & God Bless You.✨❤️🌙⭐😃
🌹🌹❤🌹🌹
Que maravilla 😃😃👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Muito bonito este seu trabalho 🙏🙏🙏🌟🌟🎉🎉🎈👍💝🎁🇧🇷🇧🇷
Very pretty! I’m going to make this. 👍
Que lindo!!! Amei a ideia!!!
I've tried Sanding, sawing, cutting, snapping discs, always to end up with cracked and splintered fragments. Never thought of boiling them. These Shiny things should NOT go in the bin if you can think of another use. I do think ADDING EXTRA shiny sparkly stuff is sooo cute.
I was just about to ask why the boiling when I read your comment, that answered my question! :)
Good to know!
Great Re-Cycling idea
Omg I’m so glad I came across this I tried to cut up pieces to put in my resin but it was a nightmare and kept cracking I’m going to have to do a before and after . Thanks can’t wait to try it out !!
Ghosh! incredible skills and imagination!!
It's cooked for flavour 😋 ❤
Very beautiful
Thanks! (the CDS were REALLY delicious)
Love it! Great for so many celebrations, kids' rooms etc. What was the light you used to show it off at the end? I'm guessing it would make pretty reflections on the walls etc... Thanks and keep enjoying! 😃
Beautiful..💜✨👌🏼
❤amazing creator!
Other than getting the labels off, what is the point of boiling them first?
was kinda of wondering that myself....maybe easier to cut without them shattering....a bit of text would help.
They are easier to cut when soft😊
Very clever idea!!
QUE PRECIOSA IDEA 🙋♀️👏👏👏👏❤🇻🇪❤🤗😍🤩😊🥰👍👍❤❤💛💙🧡💜🖤💚
This is very pretty.
Great job
❤super idea ❤
Very clever 👏👏
This will initiate more ideas, many thanks
Pretty!!! Clever!!
❤ Thank You! ❤
Wow 😲 I need to try out rhis
Love this!🥰
Amazing...👍
Merry Craft, I love your channel so much, I just had to subscribe!
Probably because it would soften the CDs,haven't you ever bent on,pretty tough to do.😊Nice video, turned out cute, thanks for sharing.👍
Awesome!
Love this! Great mobile for over a baby's crib. I'd love to make some of the stars for my Christmas tree and just general holiday decor. You don't happen to have a pdf template for the star? It fits the disk perfectly. Thanks for sharing.
The title is very misleading! It makes it seem as if something unbelievable or fascinating is going to happen. Instead nothing happens and a sparkly craft was made. Just say "sun catcher made from old cds".
They do this just so you will click on it and boost their page
Looking at the residue I suspect it's to get the labels off the other side?
why boil?????
Blud thought this would be the 2nd coming of Jesus.
You do realize they (ON PURPOSE) mislead the titles so people will watch. Unfortunately KZhead pays these people money now. So they all seem to beg for people to subscribe and like. THEN they started begging people to 'watch until the end' for MORE exciting info' (because that got them more money). NOW KZhead changed the algorithm for their $$ calculation to include comments. So now they are begging to like comment and subscribe. Some are trying to be slick about the commenting by asking the audience a question. "Tell me what you would do different in the comments below". (Then they never respond to any comments). It's getting kinda pitiful
Nice
Ich würde auf das Glitzer verzichten ,die CD Glitzert schon so schön❤
So pretty
Раньше из "винила" делали горшки для цветов, теперь из "си-- ди" дисков. Прогресс !😀
А зачем кипятить, я не поняла?
A clever way to clickbait people
What’s so clever. What were you expecting!?!? lol it’s a craft channel
THATS SO COOOOL GOOD WORK IM SUBSRIBED
Thank you for the idea, really creative. Nice to meet you.
People talking about boiling to remove the label, but I've never seen a factory pressed CD or DVD that had a stick-on label, they are always screen printed. Maybe a home-made disc, but not a commercially manufactured version.
Ich würde auf das Glitzer verzichten ,die CD Glitzert schon so schön
I didn't understand: Why do we have to cook the CD?
Heating makes the CD plastic ,,,PLIABLE, Soft to cut, COLD would Crack an break into pieces ,,,,ONLY REASON ,water heated entire surface 😊
Look at what remains in the pan afterwards…
So it's cooked
Think about it CDs are very hardened plastic and will shatter all over the place if you try cutting one so by boiling them first it's softing them making them pliable and easy to cut
😂😂😂❤
Beautiful
Brava❤
I miss AOL discs. One time me and my brother got all the old ones and had about 500 discs. Little did i know that there would not be hundreds of free CDs forever.
This is very cute. Do the cd’s have to remain warm while you cut them?
Good question.... that issue should be added to the video so people know if they have to do the cutting immediately or not.
Really pretty
Original. Bonito.
Wow cool who knew ❤
Thats 5 minutes of my life I will never get back🤣
Your choice 😁
Enjoy your next meal
***гениальная идеи****
That's a great mobile 😊
Adorei bjsssss
хорошую идею подарили для балкона.
Wonderful, but with what scissors do you cut them, because I did not succeed ... is it a special scissors!?
I use a lemon pepper marinade overnight before i fry the CDs.
GOOD😉👍️✨
Cute.
I've yet to find a technique where the cds/dvd dont break. Good luck with this!
Can you send a link as to where we obtain the plastic ring please?
Boil to soften. Easy to cut
What is the point of boiling the CD's first? To clean them? Also, there are special craft scissors made to cut hard plastic like CD's which makes the cutting a LOT easier. Nifty little idea to make a baby's hanging decoration or lighting in a window sill. Thanks for posting!
I was wondering that too? I'm guessing it softens them so you can cut them?
@@MuskratOutdoors : good point. I've cut CD's with special scissors for plastic and it was really difficult, so I will try boiling them first.
That’s cool, I like it. Is it toxic to boil plastic and chemical like that?
Looking at the residue I suspect it's ro get the labels off the other side ...
How do we get the embedded print off of old DVDs that is impossible to remove?
Why did you boil the CD's? Does that make them easier to cut?
Did you see the stuff floating in the water? It's the print off of the cd.
@@xanderslawyer8864 So if they don't have any print, you don't have to boil them at all, just cut. BTW, I remember something about putting them in water in a microwave, after couple of minutes (?) they'll get nice craquelures.
Magnifique
綺麗ですネ゙、素晴らしいですネ゙, ですが,煮沸は何の効果が有るんでしょうか?
