Welcome to my KZhead Channel!! in this video tutorial we are going to turn old CDs into beautiful gemstones for jewelry, they will look like melted glass, it was inspired in a couple of blogs I found with this technique, in case you want to visit the source, I am including the links:

Tengan en cuenta que los vapores q emana el CD son muy tóxicos ...por lo tanto limpiar el horno luego de usar( si lo hacen en de cocinar comidas)... tbien se pueden hacer en otras piezas con papel aluminio como esas sartenes essen....y se puede colorear con acrílico antes de fundir lógico...

Claudia, you can soften the CDs so they are easier to cut. Just place them in boiling water for about 10-15 minutes. Carefully take them out and they will be easy to cut. Well, easier! Good luck!

@@user-cm4dr7rw8j You can use a drill or simply heat something like a straightened paper clip or an awl and use it to melt the hole. Heat it on a candle (I prefer that over using a lighter, though both works) or a butane torch, if you have one. 🤗 💓🎄💓

También me paso así con unos CDs en la segunda parte de este vídeo (kzhead.info/sun/rdhwf9ubnmSjiok/bejne.html), olvide filmarlo pero tuve que raspar con una navaja 😰, hay CDs que son de tan buena calidad, que es muy difícil despegar la película, que marca son los que te están dando problema?
If you heat the CD slightly with a heat gun or hair dryer, it is easier to cut.

When you get problems with static electricity while crafting, it may happen (more) because the air is dry. Use a humidifier for a while before starting, then see if it isn’t easier… I’ve had real problems with static electricity while sewing with fine synthetic threads during winter when heating with an electric space heater and getting a humidifier solved the problem completely! 🤗👏👏👏👍🙌☺️ PS! Happy Holidays to all❣️ 💓🎄💓🎄💓

What a fantastically wonderful video, I love the idea. I want to try making them in odd shapes like sea glass for wind chimes and maybe thicker, 3 or 4 layers. Do they have a bad smell when you bake them? And what happens if you don't take off the foil coating?
Hi Praty!! They do not smell bad when baking, unless they burn 😅, and as for the foil, I gano not tried yet leaving the foil, I need to make another video with that 😉

Great idea! Could you not cut out the shapes with a hot soldering tip or a hot stencil cutter? Or a wood burning tool? I will try that and see what happens. These would make great buttons, charms, and clasps for different uses....like buckles and couplings.

1. Since the CDs are see-thru, Why couldn't you just draw the designs on the graph paper, then put the drawn design UNDER the clear CD and simply trace over them, rather than taking the extra time to cut the design out from the graph paper in order to trace around them. 2. If you put 2 or 4 holes in each piece You could make a hanging curtain/room divider for a window or room so the sunlight can shine thru. 3. You could also shape and color the leftover pieces as Well.

I do some polyclay pieces & shrink art but since they emit toxic fumes, I only use a small toaster oven dedicated to crafts & never used for food again. Would highly suggest that for all baked crafts.

Hola Clara! Es como si usaras un desarmador, pero en este caso presionas hacia adentro para hacer el agujero. Olá, Cláudia! Acabei de ver seu vídeo e achei muito interessante e uma forma muito criativa e bonita de reutilizar os Cds. Mas tenho uma dúvida quanto ao forno rs.....são aqueles forninhos elétricos? Ou posso usar no forno a gás convencional de cozinha? E se puder qual a temperatura? Ou tempo? Muito obrigada por compartilhar sua arte e conhecimento. Grande abraço!!
Oi Sakemy !! Muito obrigada 🥰, fico muito feliz que tenha gostado do meu vídeo. Com relação ao forno, você pode usar um forno a gás convencional, em tese deveria ser o mesmo, embora eu tenha ouvido que demora um pouco mais no forno a gás. A temperatura que usei foi 400ºF / 200ºC, pré-aqueci por 10 minutos e o tempo de cozimento ficou entre 3 e 5 minutos, tem que vigiar para não deformarem muito. Hay pintura en polvo para aplicar con calor....para esos plásticos....están en productos para señuelos de pesca....tu idea es muy buena ...gracias.....también papel de envolver regalos de polietileno...se quedaría ahí fundido.....te comento tal vez ayude......probaste con esmalte de uñas ...????....feliz xx navidad...amiga...

Hola Cenir! Utilice plumones base alcohol , la marca que utilice en el vídeo es Sharpie, pero cualquier plumón base alcohol debe servir. También probé con crayolas y funcionó bien, cómo queda encapsulado entre el sándwich de CDs, se conserva el color.

After drawing your shapes on the grid paper, you could have just placed the clear cd on top of it and traced the shape without cutting them out and placing them on top of the cd to trace.
