Bonjour à tous, in this episode Ash & Terry go out shopping for antiques with the help of Patrick. Many of times have the couple drove past this amazing store but never looked in, this time the pair take the time to show us all around with some amazing finds along the way. Terry spots a beautiful table for the 401 salon which he has been searching for and also discovers one he has called in love with, but what will he do?

About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.

I am so happy you rescued that lovely table! I am sure you will be able to restore it to its former glory. Even with the missing corner pieces, it would be something I would proudly display in my home. And finding out it has drawers, wonderful!

Thank you Terry and Ash...I thoroughly enjoyed tagging along. I smiled when Terry asked to return to buy the beautiful table. I bought one several years ago, in the same style...It is about 30 cm.longer and about 15cm wider...lots of carvings on sides, and the beautiful legs with the middle bottom holding a carving. I fell in love with the table many years ago, whilst shopping in Lima, Peru. Believe it or not, there are areas similar to where the Brocantes are in France. There, one finds the most amazing treasures. You see, at the end of the 19th Century and early 20th Century many families travelled to Europe, particularly, France, Italy, Spain to live, buy antiques and have their children spend years studying. I am blessed to have experienced these magical places and like you, bartered for the best prices available. At this time in my journey I am no longer able to travel nor do much of what I was blessed to do. So, I now spend many hours watching you and your dear family shower your home with love and delights. I love, love the green you will paint the 400 bedroom (i think). Any room that color will be fabulous with the gold-leaf. I close my eyes and can picture it done. How I wish I could visit Château de La lacelle.

That dog is the picture of contentment. He is so sweet and calm. Appears to be very happy allowing the young men to carry him around while they are shopping. Love seeing all the beautiful items. Can’t wait to see what or if they buy. 😮

The table for the front hall is heart-stoppingly beautiful. I have a few ginormous urns ; to an obsessive degree; but , dear God , I so wanted a closer look at that big dignified outdoor lion ❤!!!!

Beautiful pieces! There is something about watching vlogs of brocantes that make me nostalgic, sad even. Thinking about all the families who have lived before and used these pieces of beautiful furniture in their homes! And the music you've added, so touching! spiral staircase across the lane - Billy needs one for the convent 4 meters high I think. There was a statue there that would fit in the convent chapel alcove at the front. Both Billy and Carol need to go take a look. It's a proper entrance table and absolutely beautiful a grand find. Inlay some marble, gold or brass bits on the corners - a Japanese way of bringing new life to something broken. Thank you for taking us shopping, really enjoyed it.

I love the table you got for the front hall. It really will be stunning by the time you've done some repair work on it and even without the work done it's lovely. I love seeing Patrick wandering around with you. He makes me smile with his little wiggle butt.

Your Patrick looks identical to my Grand puppy, Shorty. He died a couple of years ago and it broke my heart. He was the one and only dachshund for our family. Before that we always had Labrador Retrievers. polar opposites. I have never seen your channel before. I love true antiques.

The old clock´s can be used a minibar, adapting the box of the grandfather cloks to hold bottles and glasses. Even with lights!

The furniture is divine I like your taste,that Baroque display cabinet beyond words ,
PRO TIP FOR THE BRASS ;) You can age the brass handles with ammonia: Pour ammonia into the bottom the bottom of a plastic container. Place the brass object with a metal net (fx. an old siv flattened and turned upside down) suspended from the bottom, so the brass and the ammonia don't touch. Put on the lid of the container and wait. Check every 1 minute (the ageing can happen quite fast). When the object has the decired patina take it out, rinse it in water and dry it. What a fun day! The table was a bargain for sure. I know Terry can buy the cheaper furniture and make it look as good the expensive stuff. The prices are so good at the first shop! That pair of chairs for 190 was a bargain too! But I am in Texas so will have to make do here.

I would become bankrupt if I lived in France with all those amazing brocants. Lord Patrick seems to not feel the cold 🥶. Our dachshunds love their jackets when it’s chilly 😂. Love the finds this week, even better when they’re bargains. ❤

I understand the romanticism about patina, but I've always thought that I'd like things to look like they did when they were new. If I built & furnished a chateau today, it would be all shiny and new. When it comes to restoration, I'm inclined to return something to that same state. I would still be loyal to the original design and spirit of the building / furniture, but I would have no problem using more modern materials and technologies to give them more longevity. But, how I'd LOVE to repair and restore that table to its original form. It's just so beautiful.

What a fabulous brocante such treasures in it the urns would of looked great at your entrance loved the mirror you were looking at but that table as soon as I saw you look at it I new it was yours to take home it was stunning missing pieces and all
