Goals are meant to be forgotten. I'm not saying that you shouldn't set goals. But you have to keep in mind that goals are only there to give you guidance. You use goals to create your own system of actionable things to do (progress) and forget about the goals. This will help turn you from being goal-orientated to process-orientated.
True af
But you should always look up to your end result AKA End Goal of the process to get the motivation and telling yourself through the journey that it's gonna be worth it.. all the sacrifices and all the hardships you went through
7yyyy
Yess🎉
I partially disagree. Sure, systems are 100% important, but goals are also important for motivation. If you're doing hard work on something and don't know why, you're bound to give up. It's much easier to work on achieving something if you know why you're doing so. But of course, this only really applies for certain goals. Not tiny goals like "clean up my room", but bigger ones such as "be a more hygienic person" or "maintain a house I'm proud of and comfortable in". If your goal is a small one (basically a to-do task), then just turn it into a system.
It took me about 4 years before i became "good" at goal setting .I think that is another information missing in most goal setting teachings. The truth that just like any other skill, it will take a few years before a person masters the art of goal setting. So stop feeling overwhelmed if you are just starting to practice goal setting, just like any art , it will take time to master.
Well said!
Thank you for sharing 🙂
Thank you for sharing this. I was about to give up because I keep getting overwhelmed. I thought goal setting just was not for me but it's nice to know that that's normal and I can get better if I keep at it :)
Great feedback. #Truth
@@francoisr4036 Well i tried googling it but could not get detailed information of what it is.One thing I am always careful about though is something that promises a reward without hard work.
To chase your dreams, you need to have the discipline to work towards it and not give up
:)
The Life Formula 👌
Discipline and will power are limited. They will run out. You need to tap into what's really driving your decisions, your values. When you do that, you won't need self-discipline and will power to achieve what you want. You'll also enjoy the process of your achievements rather than trying to will yourself to the finish line. Would you rather push through resistance and withhold gratification from yourself just to feel the temporary and fleeting pride of accomplishing a goal or would you rather tap into your natural motivation and enjoy the process of achieving goals so much so that the actual achievement is just as important and joyful as the process? Consider an entire life lived by each of these choices. Which one would you choose?
@@DamonCart willpower is limited discipline is what you need to achieve your goals discipline is when you do it even when you dont want to
@@jaquanallen4119 that requires connecting with a greater desire and a greater vision of what you want. When you do that, the necessary things you must do to get what you want that you don't like to do isn't a problem anymore. You want to do them because you can see beyond them. However, if you're greater desire or vision is based on status, pride, or impressing people you may will or discipline yourself to do things you don't want to do but the payoff in the end will be empty. Will power and discipline or a crutch. Connect with your true values and you won't need that crutch anymore. Leaning on will power and discipline will limit you and take you away from your true path.
Goals have helped give me purpose in my life. Without them, my life seems aimless.
My big problem is that realistic goals dont motivate me at all because I dont want them really. But unrealistic goals I know can never happen, so whats the point with those either? I envy those who have desires that are realistic and yet still motivate them.
@@someonesomeone25 wym its unrealistic? it you can think it you can manifest it 🤷♂️ niggas build skyscrapers, computers, all types of shit, and we forget HUMANS made them. people that eat, sleep, n poop just like us. its only unrealistic if you say it is and believe it to be
@@someonesomeone25 if you don’t aim too high, you’re aiming too low
@@AzraelBRB Its unrealistic because its impossible.
@@someonesomeone25 Aim high because you will still be in a better position if you hit it even if you miss the goal that was 3 4 or even 5 times the size of the other goal.
Make sure when setting goals, don’t be too full of yourself. Be realistic, yet ambitious. As long as you are able to be consistent and follow through your commitments, you’ll make wonders happen!
A great goal-setting journal on Amazon (Resolutions: Yes; New Year’s Resolutions: NO!:) that has nothing to do with making resolutions that everyone breaks. I bought this little journal on the strength of the title alone.
i think the first “R” in S.M.A.R.T.E.R. should be realistic instead of relatable. most people can’t realistically lose 20 pounds in just a week, so instead if you make your goal more achievable and set it to at first lose 5 pounds in a week, then you’ll have the motivation to keep it up and eventually lose those 20 pounds piece by piece.
Yes it can be realizable. Most people who frame goals often miss this point
Still the same concept. Relatable to your current situation would involve where you would start losing weight at. 20 pounds is relatable to someone really overweight vs not relatable to someone underweight so to speak

i agree with this
That's what A -- Achievable -- is for
The one reason I want to become good at goal setting is so that I stop feeling so OVERWHELMED all the time. Without focusing on one or two things and completing them, I'll be stuck doing everything to a less than acceptable level.
OMG this is so true for me also! Thanks for your comment!
God Bless!
Yes, I experienced the same. Have you heard of lifebook? It helped me a lot!
@@luisterrust what is lifebook? i would love to know :)
Word same here homie
They are different goals in my eyes: Sport goals: what do you want to train, and archive in sport. Learngoals:What do you want to learn, history, biologie. To increase your brain power. Wheight goals:How much do you want to lose wight? And painting gaols, what you want to paint. Language goals: Which new language do you want to learn? Goals give you a meaning to life.
Best piece of info i got❤
Love this explanation! Clear, short and sweet, thank you!!
This video just inspired me. I will set forth my goals, and achieve them by taking things slow and being patient with myself. This video definitely told me to take action of my life by just simply setting goals. I will start today setting goals that will lead me to a more purposeful life❤️
My teacher shared this video with the class and I think it’s great! More students should set goals for them self’s without having someone to do it for them
Your videos are part of my daily routine... And one of the best things out there... Thank you
Im 19 and im working to set goals for my life . Wish you all to achieve your goals in your life Stay strong 💪 Also i want to remember to myself to never stop working for my goals

As a father with three small children, (ironic to the video), I was SUPER impressed with this. Thankyou!
KZhead and Internet are such great platforms because you have all these videos which you can watch and you learn from other's mistakes as well as your own which makes progress faster and more efficient. Last year I did set goals but you can say my goals weren't 'S.M.A.R.T' enough 😂. But now I am better. I hope a great new year for everyone and have fun.
learning how to set/reach goals is one of my goals
Great video! Now it's time to put this knowledge into action.
Thank you so much mate for this !! I will now be SMARTER in setting my goals
My biggest mistake this year, 2022, was not even looking at my year's goal at all until the last month. I'm adopting EVALUATION and looking forward to a profitable year ahead. Thanks for this insight
Heartfelt thank you. It was really clear n brief
Great video! I learned a lot about the importance of setting specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound goals. I also appreciated the tip about breaking down large goals into smaller ones. I will definitely apply these strategies to achieve my personal and professional objectives.
Achieving our goals is a reward in the end.
the reward principle is a great addition. I really liked the fact that I would be able to buy a thing I would never allow myself! Like a very expensive pair of jeans and 100$ in Russia is pretty expensive. Thank you. This is a great video.
Setting goals is the most important thing for every single person who want to be successful. This video is great, thanks.

Beautiful session on Goal setting!
Short, to the point. Thanks for the video
Dear Mr Jack Ur lecturer on goal setting is excellent. We as teachers have to set ourselves to this technique.
*Who doesn't love the SMART way?! It's an amazing tool that ACTUALLY works.*
Thank you so much, this gave me so much hope.
I love how well structured, short and to the point this video is. I think formulating the goals is just the first step. The next steps are creating the plan for achieving it and of course what to do once you set everything in motion. There will be fears and doubts and we all need to know how to deal with it and how to create a successful path once we have set the right SMART goals. Thanks for the video and keep up the good content!
Yes. Even I found the video it is interesting. Planning the process of taking action towards the goals is, what makes it more interesting

Do forget the stupid jealous negative people that do their best to bring you down.
Indeed, in order to achieve our goals we must have a plan and stick to it. Being consistent also counts in reaching our goals.
I think everyone has goals. Its great to have a system to help keep you on track!
Goals is what makes life interesting . If you have goals you Will become more enthusiastic
Stretch goals + Smart goals = personal growth and development. As a life and wellness coach. I love this video!
🥰❤
You have to set the correct goals first, you can be very productive but if you chase the wrong goals, the ones that don't fulfill you will feel destroyed at the end. After finding the right goals, go for them! Amazing video!
Not sure if there’s such a thing as right or wrong goals because everyone who sets the goal knows what they want so it’s right for them.
@@mariancounsellor I think that 'wrong' goals can be things that are beneficial, yes, but not true to a person's cause. There are cases where people don't know what's right for them, because they don't really know themselves. From experience, I chased the wrong goals because I couldn't accept myself, and what I truly needed. In that scenario, goals didn't align with identity, and much later I learned that was very much true to me.
This is extremely helpful! Thank you I have been working to reframe my mind to meet my goals and this strategy seems doable ❤🥰❤

thanks for the guidance ! really easy to understand. and thanks for making the video !
I really hope this helps. I've struggled with motivation and the like for years, but I've noticed a genuine increase in the skill of goal setting and pursuing my ambitions within the past year or so. I'm far from where I want to be, and I've failed and fallen back several times, but the general trend is an uptick and I hope this strategy is the next step for me. THank you.
See failure s are stepping stones for success. Consistent effort is what can make you climb the ladder of success
Love this!
Love the SMARTER version compared to SMART Goals setting. Great insights ❤
It's important to not make your goals too big, instead, it's better to set smaller more achievable ones that will feel rewarding as you go.
That goes against what most of the top goal-setting experts say. Your goal should be so big that most people tell you it’s impossible otherwise you’ll most likely give up or not have enough of a ‘Why’ to achieve it. Small goals don’t carry the same level of momentum or power for many people.
@@mariancounsellor they might not but they become achievable. Often goals are not achievable so we move the goal post. It is better to break down the goal to smaller achievable actions.
I think the ability to make self improvement and disciplined habits is more important than goalsetting. But what gets measured - gets improved!
You need to have daily routines and disciplined habits to achieve your goal...
It is really awesome🔥 ....I can evaluate my goal setting progress❤️
Excellent!
Not only a very informative video, but a lot of fun to watch , as well!
