I just looking for 1 information becouse charging up to full for logitech is 2h and i cant find how much it take for razer.
Great and useful but it could have been better if you did a comparison of how they felt in the hand after a day of using each one.
I've been using G502 for over 4 years now and previously used g402 for 3+ years.. Now I want to switch as my G502(rma'd and got hero version 6-7months back) failed again, middle button and left click.. Because its lockdown here in India, dont have option to RMA it again. So I was looking at this mouse, seems good time to change, and your video popped up.. Ma man 👍
This is a great video, but I think you failed to mention that the G502 can be used with a powerplay module, which will make it have infinite battery life (provided the powerplay is plugged in and the mouse is on it).
Correct! But that is also an additional purchase. ;)
The battery lasts forever I barely charge my g502
@@jw3384 depends on how much time you are gaming or on the PC
me when shopping for a mouse: does it have a free scrolling wheel? yes: consider purchase no: *no*
What's the purpose of a free scrolling wheel?
@@thissmithymanga7119 it's the best if you hate those clicks every 1mm of scrolling, mx master 3 have hands down the best free spin scroll
y tho
you can program the scroll wheel to the left side click action to scroll down like 20 lines per click, and the right side action to scroll up 20 lines, works pretty good. I do like free scrolling wheels though too
I saw it as kind of gimmicky when I first got the G502, but now I use it often. I like a hard and accurate scroll on games (thing which is hard to find in mice, actually), but not for browsing and productive tasks, and that's where the free spinning wheel proves useful. The only thing I don't like is that I might become spoiled by it and it will be hard to find another one with this feature when the HERO eventually kicks the bucket.
Is there a lot of post travel on the side buttons of the basilisk in comparison to the G502? Love this calm video btw :)
I dont own the G602, but I own the Razer Basilisk U and owned a G602. The post travel of the Basilisk is very low and snappy, especially in comparison to the old G602.
As for looks, I love the LED's on the scroll wheel on the Razer, I have the 502 Lightspeed though, it's been a great mouse so far, the lightspeed is fucking amazing and I love that some tests I watched back then said that when using it wirelessly, there's absolutely no delayed response! That's insane. I wish Logitech worked on a Bluetooth dongle like that so I'd never lose connection to stuff like my PS4 Controller, always getting sudden delayed responses smh.
There's just one thing I would add to the G502, and it's the button under the thumb, present on the Mx master 3. With the "shortcuts" it adds it would make the g502 the ultimate productivity mouse, I'd think. Let me know what you think

@BertonesTV razer Basilisk is a better version of g502....i was g502 user for years :D
I would have been happy, to see both of the mice in one picture, for detailed comparison, plus explanation alongside
I didn't have both mice at the same time. Sorry to disappoint
@@TheProvokedPrawn ah all fine. It was really hard to decide for one.. out of so many mice. i decided for the Basilisk. But i think you really made a good video, nice Documentation! would be cool to have at least a recording of both of the mouses a 15CM distance view of it next to your hand, with Hand measurements
The G502's design is one of the most beloved among gaming enthusiasts. It was only a matter of time before someone else tried to copy it.
Yeah but razer did it better
How is the paddle on the razer? I founf on the Logitech I couldn't hit the sniper button without drastically changing my grip.
Dead easy to press, satisfying to use, much nicer than a standard button.
Yeah, the little button it comes with feels great on the Razer. Definitely easy to use.
When I got the logitech, originally I couldn't reach the dpi shift button, I also couldn't reach any of the other buttons because before that I was using a Microsoft office mouse. Eventually my grip changed and I got used to the design of the mouse, without even trying to change my grip.
Thanks for the comparison, definitely gonna sub :)
Awesome, thank you!
With Razer mice i always set it to 3 different DPI's (5+ is too many) and then can either press up twice for high, down twice for low, and for middle down down up. It sounds like alot of buttons presses but takes less than a second. And can do it without taking my eyes off the screen or my mouse
If u want the wired versions the basilisk v2 is $69 right now on Amazon (usually $79.99) whereas the G502 is $79.99 so if you don’t care about the wireless and just want the mouse with the features get the wired versions as they are great value for money, I personally picked up the basilisk v2 and it works great
I have both, Basilisk V2 is hands down better in almost everything. G502 is already more premium feeling than 90% of mouses out there, but somehow Razer has managed to get an edge. Buttons are much nicer, especially the "sniper" button. Left and right mouse buttons are hard to describe, but they feel super consistent compared to mechanical ones in G502 (especially in fast clicking). Everyone loves the free rolling wheel of Logitech, but in my unit it was unbalanced and wobbly. Never found real use for it actually. Also the rattle it makes drives me nuts. The weight difference (121g vs 92g) is.. more than welcome. I never disliked the weight on G502, but it really never is comfortable if you get to compare it to Basilisk V2.
I just got the G502 Lightspeed mouse, and not had any other G502. They really should had added 3 scroll sensitivity option on this, then it would been perfect. They should added a sensitivity in between the spinning and the kind of harder scroll options. I see how the eternity spinning option is very nice in some circumstances. But the other option is kind of harder one to get used to, you have to use a little force to scroll, and its a noisy one. I suppose the rubber makes it better than the metal wheel they had before. The strong point with Logitech is the macro and all different buttons you can assign etc. Their beast on that. Not sure about this yet, but it seams as you can combine a G-shift key if you have logitech G keyboard. You can have that one G key on your logitech keyboard double the amount of functions you mouse have. Say you hit that G key, then the side key on your mouse get another function as you have programmed it. If you release that G key, your back to your standard functions. If that so, its genius. The battery last forever, several days. Do you forget charging, you just connect the usb charger wire to your mouse, and it is like a wired mouse while you charging. Its charged from the usb on the computer. What I cant understand is why dont every mouse makers make the right click a little more firm, then you actually could rest your fingers on the right click button without risking clicking it with an accident all the time. Its like you need to hold your fingers up to make it lighter, because if you relax your finger on it you risk clicks the right button. The left click button is just fine as it is. You can do a home solution to get the right click button more firm. Stick a paper, not to tick or to thin, under the right click button to firm the right click button more. Get the right thickness and its not to hard hitting the right click button, and the same time you can actually rest your longest finger on the button.
Holy, paragraph 😳😅

Lightspeed and Play mat.
As someone who owns a Logitech G502 Hero and a Razer Basilisk V2, I’d say the Logitech wins this showdown easily. The Razer’s material feel and click feel feel cheap and takes more effort to click when it comes to clicking in rapid succession. Also, the Razer is a tad too light for my liking, as even at low DPIs I tend to have overshot as to where I wanted my cursor pointing
@@vg_tmt you know the v2 and ultimate are different and are made out of different materials and better specs

Wow really. Didn't have any issues with the one I had.
@@TheProvokedPrawn Different regions have different build locations that could be it.
My problem with the G502 SE Hero is that it feels just a little smaller than im used too, i have big hands so i kind jab at the DPI keys often by mistake which can be fixed if you use the button on the left side of the mouse as the "Shift +" key then DPI after you hold the first. it doesnt have software that can "announce" when the DPI has changed, my roomie's Roccat Tyon feels much nice for long sessions cause after a while, my hand cramps a little when playing for extended play times.
That damn lower left ''thumb support'' edge jams on the edge of your mouse mat and thus makes its usable area smaller.
A month or two ago Ghub got an update for the G502 and the dpi can be increased up to 26000 if i remember correctly, did you see?
25,000. You're correct!
My G502 proteus core lasted 4 years before succumbing to clicking wear and tear under heavy use. My Razer products have lasted less than 2 years each. A Razer Naga Mouse, a Black Widow Ultimate Keyboard, and a DeathAdder Mouse. This is my personal experience with each brand.
I've had a mx performance for about 10years now. Just had to fix the click 2 times and it still almost like new. Although I think the time has come for me to find a new one. While it seems the razer is better, I cannot live without the free spinning wheel. Way to useful for productivity/browsing... If you only intend to game then you don't care.
GuestStarMas unless you use the wheel to jump
I've had my naga epic chroma mouse since it's release date and it's been perfect since. I only replaced it to get less buttons and get a wave rgb effect and a friend has had his razer mouse for even longer and still being used. Sucks seems you've had bad experiences :/
Wonder if the Logitech G502 still have double click issues on this wireless version. Logitech software allow you rebind and do extremely advance macros on any button, including the one on the center and sides (on the wheel).
I ended up getting a g pro wireless and razer viper ultimate but sometimes the vipers charging dock wont charge the mouse without me needing to adjust my mouse on the dock.
@Jolyon C I think viper is more comfortable but my vipers side mouse buttons broke and I havent got a reply from Razer yet
For your opinion , becuz you have the both , who is the best for shooters and palm grip ? Hard review man.

What a damn review, I am stunned... Instant sub!
Thank you.
I've been using the wired G502 for a while now and I absolutely love the mouse. Lately I've been considering going wireless and wanted to get the g502 lightspeed. The basilisk came to my attention and im leaning more towards that one considering I also have a razer keyboard. The g502 has a very premium feel and is just a very solid mouse in general. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if the basilisk has that same feel or not.
I ended up choosing the Razer. Im still not use to it tho. it feels smaller to me since i had a mouse that was bigger but using this one is nice. Very cool features. I still have 10 more days so if not i can trade it for the 502.
@@jvcarter21 did you swap?
Same case for me. I switched from a G502 hero to a wireless Basilisk due to malfunctions in the left click of the G502, and the shapes are essentially the same (G502's has a more inclined angle at the right side, which I prefer, sadly) Any Basilisk mouse wheel is a catastrophe. I've tried 5 different Basilisks, and they all suffer from the same, from day one: some scrolls will not compute, and some scrolls will count double, and it's annoying and unreliable. So I'm switching to a G902 Lightspeed, praying that the internals are more durable than G502 Hero's, and also hoping that the shape is better for my vig hands. Again, both shapes are almost identical. Thing is, I am lacking a little bit of space for the pinky and the ring finger, and I hope the G902 has a better shape for it, and better internals. Wish me luck.
When does the glowing bar round the bottom of the charge station appear when you plug it in or do you have to be in the logitech page for that to happen? Mine just charges OK but I have no glowing bar round the bottom?
I have the G502 because of the design and the G-shift on Logitech’s software
Before I bought g502, I used g402 many years, bougt actualy two of them. Then broke the cord on second one also ( believe me it was in HARD use) then bought G502, and KABOOM. It was something in the mouseworld that has been on same level many years, g502 broke that barrier and tried new things, that makes this logitech mouse customizable in many ways, but biggest diffference it is customizable even physically! weight system is something that leaves other mouses behind. I noticed that (i think) the best way to put weights is so that you have littlebit of weight on the mouse (weight setting is kinda personal, but the total mass) so that it slides nicely but so that it does not go "rough" towards the mouse pad. The customization (where and how the weights are situated) is found just by trying different settings. i have the corded version though (weights are hexagon shape "corners", so you can put them in many different settings. Still i would like some videos from players, just how they have been using the weights and in wich position. At this time i use only 3 weights of 5. (3,6g one weigth). I have put 2 weigts to front corners of laser, and one to aft end of mouse. This way it feels sliding nicely for my hand, but does not weight so much that i have to "work" to move it. Too less weight is not nice eather. Still a video how to use weights by comments of g502 using players would be very nice. Think this is the best mouse that i have ever bought, and the free rolling / lockable full metal roll is just wonderful. And using real bearing, so if not locked you can put on a roll with a huge speed (if needed). The "possibilities" of G502 are very bendable. I truly recommend at least trying it. And btw the magnet locking back plate is nice also. No breaking "clicks" needed to open the "hood". Thanks for great video.
I think if i now broke accidentally my mouse, I would by another g502 :) It is so good. Yep its not steelseries, that I have also used alot, but steelseries while cord is good, and materials are good, the structure itself is not very everlasting. I have jammed roll kinda same way with 3 different steelseries, and then moved back to logitech. I really recommend g502 to everyone (atleast) that have played alot with mouse, AND also ppl using CAD softwares etc. Weight system also helps alot with accuracy, and it really is something that "the mouseworld" has waited since mouses was born. It´s pioneer for physically customizable mouses!
If g502 used good optical switches it would have been the best mouse available... more buttons, brilliant scroll button, good dpi hold button, good shape...
Last year I modded my G502 Lightspeed, I dremeled the inside a bit to fit a 1000mAh battery inside, instead of the 240mAh one... needless to say it lasts 4x longer than normal, very happy with it, I charge it every 6 to 8 weeks instead of almost 2 weeks. And it's only 7 grams heavier than stock so I don't really notice it anyway. NOT for the faint of heart though 😅
I hope razer gives an option to choose this mouse with their wireless turret keyboard
Hi! Do you also own the channel Windows ninja? I am currently listening to it and you sound the same as him lol
Not heard of it. What's the link? There's a lot of them.
I had a wired G502 that I've had for years now and got it super cheap during a black friday sale and loved it. Recently though I bought a new Black Widow V3 and wanted to match a mouse to it so I found the Wireless Basilisk Pro for $120 with the dock. It reminds me a lot of the 502 but a ton better than the one I had because its wireless, it feels way more snappy and the RBG is cool as hell with Chroma. I've been up and down on Razer for years because some of their peripherals have let me down and some have been great but I feel like they've been getting better and better quality wise. Either way I don't think you can go wrong here.
razer: can i copy your mouse logitech: yeah just dont make it too similar
the logitech has too many buttons in my opinion, it feels like ur hand is always resting on a button, that's why I swapped out my g502 for the basilisk U and never regretted it
@@krxs15 the buttons are all out of the way enough until you need it, the sniper button is closer to the top which means unless you're playing fps, you wont hit it accidentally ever, the side buttons are way out to the side and the top DPI switch buttons are also way out to the side. You also have the option to completely turn them off. But the Basilisk just have that stupid paddle
If your ok with getting another mousepad, don’t worry about the G502 battery life, Logitech manufactured a special mousepad for it which automatically wirelessly charges it while you use it!
Does the sniper button on the G502 feel noticeable when you're holding the mouse with your right hand? I prefer the look of the G502 but I feel the feel of that button on the 502 on the thumb would get my OCD enraged
Tbh its far outta of the way; almost to the point where its uncomfortable to click it.
i have just 1 question: does g502 wireless work with receiver from g pro wireless dongle, in case that my g pro will break for
do you know if the basilisk hyper has the same build quality as the ultimate ?
No it’s significantly worse
I actually switched recently from the G502 Hero (not Lightspeed) to the Basilisk Ultimate. Both mice feel really nice and both have fantastic sensors. I feel that the difference between 20000 and 25000 DPI is immeasurable as it is just to fast to notice (but I am no pro). I think if I was to do it over I would have gone for the G502 Lightspeed instead simply for the two buttons up top next to the left click button, after I switched I did miss those buttons. I do prefer the switches on the Basilisk, and the extended "Sniper" button is nice. I feel that Razer wins in the aesthetics with the super bright RGB charging dock that fits really well into a Razer dominated ecosystem. A problem I have had with Logitech since the launch of the G series is... the G series. I feel like a big G on my mouse and/or keyboard made by a company named Logitech makes no sense. Unlike Logitech Razer has opted to slap their three snakes on the Basilisk instead of a random letter that may or may not simply refer to the idea that it is a "gaming" mouse. But branding and aesthetics should come second to function. And even though I dislike Logitech's branding, I would still prefer those two buttons I mentioned earlier.
Have you encountered any problem with double click on your basilisk mouse?
Yeah that's why I move onto Razer basilisk
Lotgitech has always had a "G" as their branding and has nothing to do with their gaming peripherals.
My man, the big G is literally Logitech's logo lmfao.
@@fenix7255 this basilisk mouse cant double click bc it is optical. I don't think that's true for logitech since if it isn't optical it can be prone to double click
Did they fix the double-clicking problem with the g502 lightspeed? 'Cuz my wired g502 hero developed a double-clicking problem after just a couple months.
Apparently they have the same switches so no. But if you still have a 502 with double click problem try to blow some air in the mouse with a straw or something. And tell me if it fixes the problem!
Amazing! I just saw this video. I previously had the Logitech g502 lightspeed, but not even a year has passed and it's already double clicking. Evem multiple clicking despite holding the button down. as such I'm moving over to the razer basilisk ultimate. Hopefully I won't have issues with the double clicking since it's optical
I know right. Logitech makes great products but the double clicking is unacceptable. If you don’t want to pay for a brand new mouse, you can replace the switches on your g502 yourself and you won’t get double clicks again. I did it with my G903 and now it works great. Though, I have to warn you soldering is pretty hard if you don’t have any previous experience. But if you do decide to, I’d recommend going with Kaihl GM switches (either the Blue (2.0), Red (4.0), or Black (8.0))
Both feel like brick, at least for me. Don't get me wrong, these 2 mice are great. I guess if you like the design, then go for it. But i'd rather buy Logitech Pro G Wireless (if you prefer Logitech) or Razer Viper Ultimate (if you prefer Razer) instead. Both of these are lighter and cost isn't much different.
i slam all my weights into my mouse because i like the weight..kinda like i like my iphone compaired to the android sheep out there
@@GhostCreeper ''android'' ''sheep'' ok man ;)
@@GhostCreeper android sheep!? pffttt okay buddy, have fun with buying the iPhone 12 with no charger lmaooo
is that me or he sounds like Mr. Bean? Nice review btw
That's a new one
OMG yes so true
Basilisk - Specs G502 LS - Original i suppose.
the basilisk v2 is cool but it has plagued me as far as best first person shooter key binds because by default it comes with a tilt wheel that is binded to "repeat mouse wheel" so left is up and right is down. You can adjust it to scroll left and right like you would imagine but in game most games don't even recognize that as a key bind so if you want to set it to switch grenades left and right or whatever you'd literally have to bind it in synapse to something tilt mouse would never do. like a letter.
I prefer logitech, but all of my logitech mice (9 total) have all suffered from double clicking issues after 1-3 months. I've given up at this point and have gone back to razer which has never broken on me
i wish logitech made it toggle able for double clicking.
The Omron switches they use are pure garbage. Literally any other brand of switch is better, $10 mice have better switches lol.
Well, the way razers switch works, it wont ever double click, because it doesnt use spring that can where down
Privian AMAZING I’m getting my first gaming mouse on Thursday and it’s a razer basilisk ultimate so I’m SO EXCITED
Privian so does razer drag click and double click?
I just bought the razer ultimate one with the dock. I feel mix. I upgraded from a $35 Chinese gaming mouse. Yea its basic not high dps. But it feels nicer in my hands im not a palm grip person so its hard for me to reach the sniping button on the razer. From my experience razer one is good but if you dont have money get a chinese gaming mouse there better then you think less costum settings but feels fine.
I have the original g502 and I’m strongly considering the razer because of the dock but the WHEEL WONT SPIN
great Review thank you
Thanks for watching. Hope you enjoyed enough to subscribe 🦐
Idk why but i feel like the balistik is like razers G502. Great Video btw
I think that's the idea
If the g502 wireless uses the same switches as the g502 hero I give it 1 year before the left mouse button starts double clicking on a single click. Logitech has no quality control on any of their products. I've had my g502 hero replaced on warranty as well as my g933 wireless head set. The warranty replacements both had the exact same problems.
Well I'm in a Logitech ecosystem but I'm having click issues with my G703. Left click after the years & Right click after 5. I just repaired it, again, but come on Logitech! Change those switches! I would buy g502, but I'm gonna try those optical/mechanical clicks! Sounds good!
Im getting the g512 and g502 for my birthday I'm so glad I watched your review for the g502 thanks!!
Does the logitech able to rest the right finger without all the time accidentally click on the right button, like having a little more force resistant to the right click button?
PowerShot-x You can disable or change mapping. You may also just get use to it.
@@PerfectorZY I did get the mouse. To bad to many mouse makers make so light right click buttons. I actually need to hold my finger with force. If I rest light on right button it clicks. So my solution is to put a kind of paper, not to tick, not to thin in under the knob, so it get a little force in between. That helps. But I also considered mapping that button. But the paper method seams nicer.
Hi, have you compare charging time on the dock vs using the usb cable provided? Are they both the same charging speed? Because mine charges slower on the dock compared when i use the usb cable, is that normal? I timed my charging time from 0% to 60% it took about 3 hours +? Please to relieve me of my worries :(
I didn't I'm afraid. But it makes sense it would take longer as it's convection rather than being plugged in properly.
@@TheProvokedPrawn then i shouldnt be too woried of my item be a defect then?

Dude which lens do you use video quality is crisp.
A mix of two lenses. They in the bottom of the description if you want a look.
Previous time i used razer mouses. I was quite happy with them. Every lasted 2-3 years. Last mice was lg502. Because weight i switched. Good mouse but did not last more than a year. Switching to razer for good.
not alone the better sensor, click feeling & air tracking options.. logitech mices are just overrated if you ask me

Can you do a teardown video?
Am I the only one who thinks that he talks like snape? It's a compliment tho, you have a great speaking voice that draws the audience to you
I've had loads of people say it. Either that or Mr Bean or Henry Cavill.
i have g502 hero after 1 weak of use the middle scroll stop after 1 second not after 17 seconds like you videos do I have to return it ??
G502 Hero and Lightspeed are not the same.
what about the basilisk hyperspeed x?
Seeing you struggle with the magnetic door on the G502 is painful lol
I am a boob
Some testing experts says that Razer one has 7ms click rather than 12ms in Logitech, but Logitech has less DPI error. So what is better for FPS games?
Let me know too
Are you even aware how 5ms is unimportant? It is more likely that you could react humanly slower than 5ms difference in device.
I already heard that g502 is bad for fps, that i disagree
Comparing both I feel the G502 is quality and resources wise better done, the Razor somehow still feels bit cheaper in hand, though for regular players might be still good enough...however I prefer the Logitech one by then end as high end model
Same goes for me but razer has the better Switches and scroll resistance adjustment
If only Logitech could make mice that don't double click. Gone through so many warranty replacements on my Logitech mice.
I have the same problem.
Yeah same that’s why I’m looking at Razer. They last much longer
@@kimseanoooff4952 I tried their new laser switch one, it got mushy really quick. So, I'm just using my steelseries that is meh until Logitech can so something right with their mice. Might be waiting a while lol
My g502 I use it 100% of the time with scroll free (unlocked). It's the BEST for web developing and web browsing too.
Please, please help! G502? MX MASTER 3? RAZER VIPER ? RAZER BASILISK? MX ergo? Purely for speed and improved productivity in dealing with video timeliness, switching, zooming, panning, cutting, transitions... What is the fastest for video content? Perhaps graphics? I have usbc only, so d'ongles will not work. Working on a Mac. Please and thank you. Thank you. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Mx master 3 is the best for editing and work and general
Ok, so Basilisk it is. Thank you for helping me make this tough choice lol
For FPS, which is better? Most important which is more durable as well? Cheers.
Those mice aren't for FPS, go with the viper or the G PRO wireless
@@framedthunder6436 hmm...just bought the G502, while comparing between G903...-_-" Actually quite like the G-Pro, but I need the high-speed scroll for surf net and work, comes to durability, that's why get the G502...and because of promotion...haha... Anyway thanks for the advice, cheers.
@@Zhean3553 For FPS is better a lightweight mouse, The G502 and the Basilisk are quite heavy for FPS
@@framedthunder6436 the 502 has been reduced to 114g, however, for fps still consider heavy, idealistic should be between 80-100g, unfortunately, those design like Xtrfy m4 are all wired, except the G703, G-Pro and G603 on the lighter side... One of the reasons I choose G502 is because of the comfort grip design and functionality for my work as well.
If only the razor had the infinite scroll spin button on the top. I use that thing all the time, it’s actually pretty handy. Shame, because otherwise I think the razor is just the same mouse but with slightly better specs.
The basislisk boasts 11 prog buttons.. is the 11th button that one underneath the mouse? Does that mean the g502 in reality has more buttons accesible for games?
No, its 11 buttons that are usable notmally, the g502 does have 12 though
I have g502 and its my favorite mouse so far, I haven’t like ever had a connection problem with it yet like at all where I’ve been aiming and it glitches out. Sometimes I fat finger the dpi up and down buttons which can be annoying so I would like them in a harder to hit spot but that’s whatever
The logitech software allows u to disable buttons if u have a look at it.
xm3 I do like those buttons, I use them a lot, I play rust the survival game and the m249 recoil is insane, so I usually have to get a higher mouse sensitivity, or I get a 2 foot long mouse pad, so I do use them I just kinda wish they weren’t like idk so high up and slightly harder to press
How could you forget to mention that G502 is compatible with Logitech Powerplay, what makes G502 virtually infinite battery life?
That’s a extra purchase look at all the comments
What are the differences between the two
At the moment I’m debating whether if I should get my dream mouse (g502) or go for the ultimate which is the cheaper option atm
I'm in the same boat as well
@@bigmanrouser59 went for the ultimate in the end and it was a great choice
