I was raised on a sheep farm. I helped with the shearing. My Dad seldom cut the sheep. If he did, he put an antiseptic on it. The sheep didn't struggle once they knew what was happening. Our sheep were handled with care. They are GENTLE ANIMALS, no need for ruffness. The people in this video are cruel money lovers.

It's horrible!
I'm not making it past the first 20 seconds. Disgusting. We are given the animals on this planet to steward. The other vids on this channel are similarly disturbing. It's why I pick my American/local food producers carefully and try to NEVER eat commercial slaughterhouse meat by choice. Now I'll have to try to check where the materials (wool) in my clothing is sourced, too.
I homestead. I'm not normally upset by videos, I know the reality. But this one needed a comment left. Those sheep had some pretty long, deep cuts. I'm shocked that a professional setup would do that - and nothing put on those areas to prevent flies from attacking. The fleeces had areas of blood on them when they were being skirted. Dang...I thought in today's modern world we did a little better by the sheep. I just sheared one of mine today, one small nick and we treated it. I used hand shears too, those electric ones can really cut a sheep badly if not done carefully. Makes the wool industry go down a notch in my mind... The rest of the video was interesting on a large scale model, I just couldn't get past those sheep with gaping wounds and the blood on the fleeces (tells you the cuts were deep).

@@mwatts-riley2688 I’m sure peta has way bigger things on its plate than some knicked sheep… there’s some other brutal brutal treatment of animals out there needing to be dealt with! (Not that I don’t feel for these sheep, those men should be ashamed!)
@@kallykat I hope Peta dosent get involved, it's likely they'd kill every sheep you saw in this video, if their past "help" is anything to go by.

My grandparents owned a sheep shearing business. If they had someone that tore up a sheep like the first guy in this video, he would have been off the plant faster than he could get that fleece to the wool sack. Our dogs we used to help get the sheep from the fields to the pens and chutes - they weren't allowed to abuse them either. In fact we bred our border collies to ensure they were more biddable and able to work sheep without injury to them. Sheepmen (Shepards) needed their stock treated well and kept healthy. It's too bad that today's industry doesn't seem to value that integrity of the profession anymore.
The industry want money! Uf the worker its more careful,l that meaning less sheep woul per day! 🤷🏻♂️
I noticed that with dismay, too. Black marks that look like shear burns or old cut scars, blood on the shearing floor.
@@ermaaaldosstimusic You say that, but getting infections and reducing stock quality isn't beneficial to your income in the long run. Yes wool or any natural fibers are better than polyesters and plastic . We just need to get our wool from local people Who doesn't neglect their animals thats what I Do
Traditional shearers are gentle and professional. There is a great respect for the sheep. What is a shame is that the wool market has become so specialized. There are many places that give about 50 cents per coat and it costs the farmer up to $15. To get the shearing done. For most shepherds it is about the sheep’s comfort more than the wool product. But if wool were more widely used in clothing and people realized just how warm and comfy it can be..the mills would have to pay much more.
Actually it's harder to find people that practice humane shearing, farming of the sheep these days is generally trash especially in cultures that have more sheep to shear. The more sheep the less it matters to them, production gets faster and the demand is higher, so lower quality work is often the result. And besides general laborers on farms make such little money they don't care.
people don't buy wool because they hoard clothes and once moths start getting in them you're fucked. You start spending money on moth repellents and can't get rid of them. Unfortunately fast fashion works its wonders yet again :)

As a person who grew up on a farm, here's some info for ya: The sheep does need to be 'upside doesn't in order for it to be less likely to wriggle. The sheep wriggling is what causes most cuts. It does seem like there are more cuts than I would expect here though. If the shearer accidentally made a small cut we would immediately spray it with antiseptic which is marked with a purple dye so you can see it has been treated, and if it was any bigger than a tiny bit we might put a kind of tape on it (like a sheep plaster). Most sheep we had would emerge without cuts. Shearing is neccesary because modern sheep breeds don't shed their wool in summer and are more likely to get heat stroke, undetected maggots (which eat the sheep alive) if not shaven, and would eventually find it hard to walk if their wool was left to grow for years
I’ve seen many people who shear sheep professionally and without hanging them upside down. Would you do that to a child to get them to stop wiggling??? It’s ridiculous.
Blue Kote is a wonderful spray ;)
if people wouldn't breed sheep to have this much wool they wouldn't rely on humans not to overheat. wild sheep shed naturally, bred sheep just show once more how cruel humans are. and the thing is, we don't even need wool, there's plenty of other materials that we could use instead

@@sv_cheats1970 ALL i was saying at first was why tf do you have to pull the sheep's neck back and freak it out and maybe even hurt it? Then shave them like ya just don't care if they get cuts? I can be sensitive but revengeful. I just happen to like sheep and it pisses me off to see them get thrown around for a few dollars. And the jerks doing rodeos chasing down calves and tying there legs up after they SLAM them to the ground..then the fools that did it get up all puffed up like they just accomplished their dream.
@@loumason6120 bending the sheep's neck backwards like that is a common sheep handling method. It is uncomfortable but not painful to the sheep done to encourage the sheep to stay still for the safety of both the shearer and the sheep. As for the shearing like they don't care about cutting it... It may appear that way to you but in order to get the best cuts each blow of the clippers needs to be fast and confident. This prevents machinery from seizing up and causing injury, and also minimises the time the sheep is being restrained for. Cuts are unfortunately common in the shearing shed but most are small and caused by a slight movement in the sheep, skin issues or a problem in the blades of the machine. Fortunately most of these should be minor cuts that heal naturally and are protected by a sheep's lanolin.
sheep are very docile sweet animals who don't have to be treated this badly I will never wear wool, cotton grows on a plant my mom picked tons of cotton growing up that's what I wear & use
Most traditional sheep farmers handle their sheep with love and care and hand-shear them. They try very hard to not nic or cut the sheep and don’t do cruel things. This is a very sad and poor example of sheering and honestly should be shut down. Regular sheep farmers really need support right now though so instead of not buying any just buy from small owners (:
I have some bad news. It might nit have been your mom doing the picking
me too.
Not all sheep are treated this badly, most are well cared for
So when the weather is garbage and the plants don't grow. Or there is an infestation good luck.
Love the comments from people who haven’t got a clue about sheep shearing.
Well now I'm really glad I rarely get wool yarn and when I do, it's all local. that poor sheep had cuts EVERYWHERE and the shearer had so many second cuts but didn't care. I watch a traveling shearer who takes her time to get smooth blankets and makes every effort to ensure the sheep, llama or alpaca is safe and comfortable the whole time. But the guys in these clips were awful, I don't care how many you have to do, those sheep can deal with waiting if it means they won't get practically butchered to get sheared
I think I know who you're talking about and she's AMAZING!
Yes we need more law allowing people to know how and where their Product are made . In today's world most closes are made by using slave in others countries for cheap and where animals are abused like that . Local and quality should be favored over cheap and poor quality but we live in a capitalist world where people would rather vote for Rich buisness Man instead of people Who are knowledgable and care about the wellbeing of the people rather than developpement. We need to come back to our sources rather than cheap materialism were poor people are used to make the Rich more Rich and the poor more poor .

Why were they being so rough?? They should be so much more gentle!!
It's hard to explain but most animals are different than us when it comes to tolerance and strength. A majority of humans have become more gentle living in safer and cushioned environments so our tolerance in evolution has gone down and to get back up we need to build it individually. Sheep are part of the animal kingdom that still live in the outdoors all their life on the earth full of hard minerals. You will see the difference if you put one human in normal housing circumstance and one out in the wild to fend for themselves. If you bring them together years later there will be a significant difference in mentality and physical attributes (even if the normal society human works out and lifts weights it will still be different due to the experiences) HOWEVER, them cutting the sheep to where it bleeds is not supposed to happen.
@@crazychris1123 it was the getting so close that they bleed and how they would grab them and drag them by the neck. That’s not a good thing to do to any living thing.
Yes!!! They can actually be fast and thorough without being g so rough, brutal and psychotic...
Sheep are a lot more tough. Most farms are way worse about it too. By the way, the sheep was not bleeding from handling. It was small nicks from the razor. I remember shaving a sheep at my grandparents ranch. Their skin is full of folds so it’s really easy to nick. Ps, that wasn’t rough because you need to hold a sheep down or else it will kick and buck and get nicks from the razor. They did it in a really safe way.

This really makes you appreciate those dwindling few who still weave by hand!
dwindling? the entire of nz still diesbit by hand
Coz by hand its more safe. These machines are clearly hurting them
@@abdulhadimalik3312 only the shearing can hurt the animal. When you shear by hand, you use big, sharp sheep shears, which are basically huge scissors. To be honest, this looks safer. Because.. pinching a sheep with one of those might do more than draw blood.
I just usually right click one sheep then I use 3 pieces to make my bed.

Not really happy with the amount of cuts. I'm sure the sheep are moving a lot but he's going pretty fast. It's a business and time is money so even though it looks like these folks know what they are doing, slowing down a bit might prevent less harm.
I like how they scoot down the slide when they’re done, probably feeling like a million bucks getting all that wool off.
O my Lord 🙏 how You educate people perfectly how you put great ideas in our minds as we born with no skills. I really astonished while watching a single single machine working amazingly good. This is all we got by YOUR blessings. Thank you so much my Lord 🙏❤️ we are nothing without YOU.
God bless you. We should all be so grateful for the things that make our lives better.
No spirit, elf, ghost or gods taught you how to sheer, these guys who uploaded their video on KZhead did. Thank them
@@C0wb0yBebop Disagree with your first statement. But as far as the video uploading is concerned that is very appreciative and I thank them by heart.
incredibly ironic that you’re watching a video about sheep while preaching your “lord”! 🤣🤣🤣
@@dankhill_ Irony and sarcasm are marks of an unhappy person.
Apply some antiseptic or turmeric to wounds ,yes wool shearing is important but after that they tend to get minor cuts just take care of it
Я поражена такому сложному производственному процессу. Не мудрено, что натуралка дорогого стоит.
Nice video. Quite a lot goes into the making of a sweater.
In prayer God Almighty please protect all your blessed creations from any harm, in Jesus name I pray amen🙏✝️
I believed that in today's modern world, we treated sheep better. I just sheared one of mine today, and with one small cut, we promptly treated it. I prefer using hand shears; those electric ones can cause significant cuts if not handled carefully.
They are nicer to them than I've seen...thank you for not hurting them!
I'm going to cry right now, how cute.

What are you talking about?? The sheep had a cut on his leg and huge gashes in his butt!!! I would call that hurt!!
So the blood doesn’t count?

Hi Im Laura. There is this guy who keeps me captive. I have zero autonomy over my life. He cuts me bold every year and sometimes injures my skin in the process. When I will be older he will slaughter me for my skin and my meat just like he did with my mom. People say its an amazing farm where I live. But they would not want to change positions with me for some reason. Sheep Laura
I thought he was going to break that sheep's neck by yanking him backwards so hard. Fascinating process to change from wool over to cloth.
Same...it upset me
شي جميل ومدهش .سبحان مالك الملك.الانسان مبدع بفضل الله تعالى.
The sheep come out the other end like , " damn , they stole my coat"!
When he starts pulling the sheep in the the beginning, its just like, “Ok.” and ragdolls
This is how I feel on April 15th 😂😂😂
That is very interesting. I did not know the process that wool goes through.
Wow... I never knew how the wool was treated after shearing. So many steps to process it.
Now try to think of how it was all done by hand before the machines took over
@@keithsmith1104 probably killed the poor animal
Nobody killed animals to get wool! Try some critical thinking skills! She’s talking about cleaning the wool!
Imagine how many people were employed before all the automation of the weaving and carding
Oooh por Dios que hermoso lo q da la naturaleza de las ovejas
Is it just me or is this music an intentional lullaby for us to enjoy while counting sheep? 😂
Nice machine super productivity
this is beautiful
They are sure cutting the sheep pretty bad, blood all over the floor!!
It's Ok for them, some times it happens.

i don't know. but can you guys just shave them properly. some of the sheeps are wounded after you shaved them.
No matter how gentle you are there will be nicks
The sheep actually produce lanolin which help heal the nicks really fast.
Thats just the skin colour dont worry my g, Its all good

I hate seeing how these poor sheep are abused and cut. I’m a groomer it doesn’t take that much to be careful with clippers!

Where the wool grows can make their skin bunch/fold so there’s ways like not shaving as close when you see this to avoid cuts. They are obviously doing this process quickly without really taking the sheeps wellbeing into consideration. It’s a large cooperation so it’s kinda expected, doesn’t make it any less sad that this happens.
Nope. It's pure greed/laziness. The wellbeing of the sheep should be taken into consideration. But since capitalism, in its all holy greed, does not consider the well being of humans, what chance do mere beasts have?
Waiting for the day man would be subjected to such indecency.
@Noal Farm. Glad Noal Farm loves my comments. So please embrace vegetarianism and let’s coexist with animals. Please spread the word around. Both humans and animals can live happily on this planet. Thank you
What is everyone complaining about? One sheep had one knick (probably from a cyst) and the rest of the video shows wool making in a factory. Calm down ppl
Some people proably watxhing this while wearing a wool mqterial appereal, the hypocrasy. If we they truly cared they simply will doe out in the modern, indrustrial world, true conditions can be imporved, but these commenters would also do the exact same after a 2 year run on thia business.
These sheep are your source of income. You all should handle them with love and care. They were very rough with them
My first thought when the shearer pulled the sheep's head back was animal cruelty! I have seen people shear a sheep in competitions, sheer a sheep in a few minutes with much more care for the sheep.
