Match 2, people were complaining the the refs need to let the wrestlers wrestle and not worry about wiping them down and stopping the match so much. Match 3, they don’t wipe it down as much and people complain that it’s rigged, despite J’Den taking multiple shot attempts while injured, getting a cradle push out, an actual injury where it’s clear hyperextension ON video and people crying saying he faked it, and bad shot attempts by DT. Tore my mcl got ripped right out my knee and had two shoulders dislocated wrestling, I know many with broken necks, collar bones, arms, and noses. That’s not including the sprains and jammed fingers and all of the other pain involved in just the training, you don’t wrestle without knowing you can be hurt at any time. I got a concussion my senior year that shattered my hand eye coordination. I was wrestling against a Bergan catholic stud from jersey and he illegally threw me on my head when I was winning 9-7 and chose bottom in the third. He beat me 20-10 after that because while I took my injury time I continued to wrestle because no wrestler quits. I was taken down 5 times and was nearly pinned. I was wrestling from pure muscle memory of 7 years of training . I didn’t get pinned and I medically defaulted to 6th. @daw1626 жыл бұрын
@@daw162 Cox didn't do either of those. He started when the referee said to start, and he never avoided contact long enough to be considered "fleeing the hold" under freestyle refereeing criteria. You can argue that Cox should have been put on a shot clock. In a close match like this perhaps that would have changed the outcome of the match. But on the other hand, Cox scored more in the second period than Taylor did, and also threatened more attacks, so it's not really a clear cut situation either.

amazing match tension were definitely at all time high. Im huge fan of DT and J Den cox. they both used off and on match intelligence to accomplish their goal as they should. Esp for the Spot they are wrestling for. DT purposely spike his knee/shin just as the whistle blow which all is fair in wrestling war and it was jden responsibility to continue wrestling passed the whistle. It was well timed and could potentially greatly increased his chance of winning. he even smartly attacked the weak leg. DT does not owe cox sympathy this is for world titles. Jden being genius used his DT tatic against him and and played into the injury in as much i do believe he was genuinely hurt at some level. he milked the clock and milked the stalling and avoiding of DT. Which is incredible smart to use the tactic and turn it into an opportunity to win yourself. DT began to give up and i wished he went balls to the wall with attacks. In the end JDen immaculate defense and allusiveness took the cake. He deserve the win. Excellent performance by both. I love where they both are now

And now both are world champions :)

Kudos to Cox but that was super generous officiating.
Every time I watch this the amount of sweat coming off Cox , would make it impossible to wrestle him , Christ at one point he slid across the entire mat .
There needs to be some rule for that, must wipe down, i dont know but its gross
Shawn H They do wipe it down. But the sweat keeps comin haha.
One of my teammates used to sweat like this and it just spread across the room. Eventually half the people in the wrestling room were covered in his sweat as people picked up his sweat in one spot and deposited some elsewhere haha.
@@ShabazzTBL then the other wrrstler should pour water on himself or wipe down with oil.
Shawn H man it’s sweat. People sweat it’s not unfair.
Cox is tough as nails, true champion
This is legendary, I had heart palpitations for all of these world trial matches
I was there brother. It was awesome to see live!
Cox was playing possum a bit so slippery and once he showed he was injured Taylor almost became too aggressive and predictable cox is slick as it is with technique but he was so sweaty the mat was wet but man hats off for pulling it off regardless of the factors
They both wrestled on the same sweaty surface, so not advantage to either one.
@@darylc2799 I disagree. Taylor wasn't sweating as badly and the "surface" of Cox's skin was just about impossible to handle. For crying out load, he slid 1/2 way across the mat.
The only thing MORE insane than doing the same thing and hoping for a different result is watching the same match and hoping for a different result...
Lol that injury would’ve wrecked me. No way I could perform like j’den did (not that I could with 2 working legs).
You people need to hop of DT’s nuts. I watched all three matches. Match 1, DT got a questionable win after being awarded for what appeared like a throw attempt by J’Den. This was far from rigged. You people are some nut hugging fanboys. Wtf!!
Cox should have been put on the shot clock with about 1:30 left in third.

Lol he didn't hurt his knee that bad. There was no ligament damage, meniscus, anything😂. It was never brought up again after this day and he went on to win a World Championship🤣
J’den definitely watched Dake vs Taylor. He controlled DT similar to how Dake controls him in those collar ties.
My heart was racing . Yelling shot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Man, I wished I wrestled that good when I injured my knee in a match. I lasted about an extra 100 seconds before he pinned me although I injured my knee trying to not get pinned.
That's why he is a 2 time olympian.

J'den Cox I believe is on course to evolving into the best wrestler pfp in the world. I firmly believe he wins gold in Tokyo 2021 and I'm sure he does to. That's why he is going 97kg to face the best sadulaev. He's at the peak of his career and on a mission to get the respect he so rightfully deserves. Keep evolving J'den don't get complacent during this pandemic. You're the man , the matrix , and the best.
J'Den Cox was the clear victor, but this sort of referring is disgraceful to the sport. Clearly, there is a favorite in this match. It hurts me as a wrestling fan to see this sort of disrespect.
The Road Back Home, cox is a passive coward.
The Road Back Home Cox was the clear staller, backed away the hole match & only won due to bad refereeing...

What they call that duck under single leg looking move? That was slick. I've done an inside through the legs to an outside single before.
Don't get me wrong I love Dt, but you gotta give it cox. He wrestled even after hyper extending his knee.
That shit looks gross too. I wouldn't have expected him to continue.
That was a piece of shit move to intentionally injure the guy. He should’ve been disqualified.

Both of these men are monsters of wrestling. Both will be Olympic medalists soon!

No stalling for Cox? That's all he did the entire 2nd period. And no 30 sec clock. Unbelievable.
Steve Wildasin yet he is the one that scored twice
if you count the shots (half assed or not) jden took more.
Steve Wildasin absolutely ridiculous. I've seen college wrestlers hit with 3 stalling calls for the same thing.
Steve Wildasin there’s isn’t an actual stalling call in freestyle. All you can do is put shot clock which I feel should’ve been put many, many times
Atta boy david taylor. You go with yo bad self. You got to let it out. Bust that chair. No-one got hurt. Mad props dawg.
Cox inspires me with this match and it showcases the heart and will found in wrestlers everywhere
The Bergan kid outscored you 10 -1 in the third period with five takedowns?
now he is playing pubg. what a hero.
Only thing that was truly impressive was how he did so much running the last 2mins. Of the match on that bad knee.
Tough guy
And then took more shots than Taylor. Pretty amazing.
he was still down a point, and diddnt score. so he was gonna lose either way.
Abyss you cant wrestle the way cox did taylor should have been getting points while he was fleeing and stalling
Now how the rules work bud, sorry. I too, wish that the rules catered to my wrestlers' performances but alas, they don't...
Passivity (1 point): A point awarded to the attacking wrestler whose opponent flees the hold or refuses to start.[
Litomatoma??
I get that Cox got injured. But Taylor was no more passive than Cox in the first period. And several times Cox was passive after the injury, especially the last 30 seconds, fleeing. And please wipe the sweat off the mat and the wrestler. Pretty terrible conclusion to a third match.
amazing match tension were definitely at all time high. I love where they both are now
Derrick from more plates more dates needs to make a video about Jdens mega dosing fish oil protocol.
such a bs call at 9:48 that was david taylor following through on his own shot, and he was down on his knees. i would have challenged bricked that.
I don’t think the own shot part matters. The on his knees might but maybe because he was on his feet and ended down as he went out. That’s different than someone pushing you out as you were already down. I’d have to look up the rules. But we’d have to find the rules for the year this match was because they change frequently.
and you would have lost the challenge. He stepped out. The rules don't say if you step out by accident or if you took the shot.
@@darylc2799 thanks for your opinion dick elite. what did the rule book say that year?
@@7mikepd Sorry I hurt your feelings....no..I am not sorry...hahaha. The judges, refs, coaches, that were matside and the rule book all disagree with you. But you know better....hahahaha.
I have been ref'ing for a lot of years now. The vet guy is right. Taylor lost that point by stepping out. Sometimes freestyle rules suck compared to folkstyle rules. But you know the rules when you walk out there. That's why they didn't challenge it. Name calling and stuff.. Folks need to disagree without being disagreeable. Where did you wrestle at Vet?
Like how Cox stalled basically the whole match but Taylor who shot 24x losses the point for stalling.
After he completes his wrestling career, Cox could have a future in figure skating 🤔
Damn Burroughs made both Taylor and Dake move up a weight hahahaha
Supra Beyond 😂
I was thinking the same thing. After watching this match, I don't see how Burroughs could neutralize their strength
Supra Beyond Burroughs is a 74kg wrestler, Cox has been at at least 86 for 5 years. This cycle he would have been at 97kg. I love Burroughs but they were never the same weight, Jden didn’t move away from him. Taylor did eventually move up although I’m really pretty sure it had more to do with outgrowing the 74 class and wanting to bump up to another Olympic weight.
Ian Patton shit man that’s just totally my bad lol I’m not sure how I misread it. In that case, yeah I definitely agree
Respect for Cox from Iran.
Did his defense get better when he got injured?
Yeah. He got away with backing up the entire time. The injury made the stalling look heroic.
Can we get a damn stalling call
Yea, Taylor was grabbing fingers alot...good call.

He legit threw the match because he was wrestling nice afterwards what do you mean he should’ve gone as hard as he could it cost him the spot
This was in 2017. This was before DT ever made a world team or olympic team.
Cox showed the heart of a champion by beating a great wrestler with a bum leg! Taylor showed his behind with his juvenile behavior after the match!
no disrespect to jden his performance was amazing but that was really generous officiating, on top of the fact that he had the entire mat lubricated and DT literally couldn't do anything
No shot clock!?!? Jesus Christ!
Yeah..Taylor didn't take many in the 2nd period. Cox took more. Should have been put on the shot clock.
Damn jden gets super sweaty really fast haha
The match before this he was wiped down between periods and 10 seconds later got sent back by the ref before the next period to be wiped again.
Taylor's aggressive attempts to target the injured leg and take advantage of the incident was so uncool.

Litomatoma bringed me here
Tournament staff should've been wiping down the mats during every possible break. The hell were they doing😂
Can someone explain why the ref broke the grip at like 8:30
Can't lock hands
If you watch the second period closely, you see DT shooting almost exclusively at the right leg (the same leg that was injured). Kind of a dick move, but it also screwed him over because J'den did a pretty good job keeping that leg back and thus not giving DT any good shots.
Mike is goin ham in the corner lol
What a champ J'Den is wow........ David Taylor absolutely NO sportsmanship whatsoever!!!! He got his backside kicked!!!!
Wooooow!!! Inspiring. Tho Taylor wasn't mean enough here. He let up the intensity. He patted cox on the back as of to say "wow, good on u for coming back, I'll take it easy on ya I feel bad" Should've been wayyyy more ruthless and mean from the getgo
For some reason, it felt like Taylor held back some after the injury like he didn't want to win that way. No offense to JC either as he didn't give up having heart. Maybe it was just me but I really feel like Taylor just didn't go for the kill.
I agree with TrusT Me OG. Bare minimum, *I believe the mats DEFINTELY should have been wiped down*. J'Den certainly displayed heart. Did David Taylor get 'jipped' or 'screwed'? Honestly maybe a little bit. Some things could have been done differently.
100%, no doubt. Ref should have stopped the match and wiped both J'Den and mat.
@@barefoot2737 Never depend on a ref to bail you out. They are not obligated to wipe the mat down. And they both were wrestling on the same surface so no advantage. Anyone that has wrestled before has wrestled a sweaty individual. You know how to wrestle through it...or you lose...and never get to that level.
Veterans Elite I wish I could like this comment twice!
I like how yall are more upset at J'Den for sweating then you are Taylor driving his leg down like that. He's got too much wrestling experience to pretend he didn't know what he was doing. Then he basically by not only disregarding him and holding up two but then to go on twitter and complain.
Shabazz Seems Cox was at fault here. He put his leg out in front to fight the takedown. He wouldn't give in, thus the injury.
Reggie Glubber bullshit. Who doesn’t defend a single with their leg in front of them? You can see Taylor just driving his shoulder down into his knee. That motion doesn’t help bring him down. I think he got frustrated and tried to hurt him. Especially since he showed no remorse afterward and instead starts arguing for two, if you hurt some on accident your first reaction is to pause and see if their alright.
@@ShabazzTBL AGREE!!!!!!
@@ShabazzTBL so drop down give up the takedown, Cox was sweating everywhere.
Tim Lamb I don’t know what you’re trying to say but Taylor very obviously not trying to finish that takedown. How does doing that help him secure the other leg. He literally lifted up the lower leg then drove his shoulder down into the knee. His goal was to hurt him because he was frustrated.

He's a shit ref and I really hope he didn't have any favoritism in this match. I mean cmon they cleaned the mat in match 2 and the mat was a lot worse this time around.
I can't say this ref has favoritism for certain, but I remember him clearly as an outspoken fan for Jordan Oliver / OK st. at a PSU match. On a questionable call a PSU fan yelled for Jordan to sit down when he went to talk to the refs. With that, this ref yelled back "My bet is Jordan could kick your ass!" ... Got real awkward.
