Great list, the price of most of the cars on this list are going up bye the minute so you should buy now.
Facts bro 🔥. Foxbody prices are going up and malibus are getting harder to find or closer to 15k
@@d.brew8 💯
The catfish v8s were like $3-4k before I was thinking about buying one
@@zollieh yeah now they going for 7k-10k but you might can find you a lt1 for cheap.
Make sure yall get those third gen camaros for cheap right now. Mine was 1000 bucks and it's a smooth 10-15 grand for even the V6
As an owner of a 1984 Corvette, I can say its the most fun one will ever have with 200 hp. My car has the Z51 handling package and it rides like it on rails. It's a joy seeing the LCD dash work and the pop up headlights complete the entire package. It's a great highway car and I could do long multi-day road trip with it. If Chevy went a different direction with the Corvette in 1984, then it most likely would've died in the 80s
I hope to someday drive a C4 'vette and relive in the 80's in style.
@@IdealMediaChannel It's well worth it, plus the early 84-89 cars are the cheapest of the C4s. I got my 84 for around 5k. In 1990 they changed the interior and went back to analog gauges with a fighter jet inspired dash. In 1991, GM updated the exterior with rounded edges and changed the engine the gen I L98 350 to the gen II LT1 5.7. The later cars typically go for over 10k and ZR1s go for around 25-30k
@@michaelbutkus4790 I bought an 84 that had sat for 9 years 60k original miles almost untouched just had grand sport wheels I paid 3.5k got it to start and idle for a few seconds and sold it for a bit more to my dad who redid the fuel system and the car is amazing
New cars just chasing the Horsepower, Honestly I prefer something that I can dog out and have fun with without it being a literal almost race car. Big fan of the older muscle myself. Much more fun to pleasure drive without worrying about going to jail anytime soon. 😁 I have a 2003 mustang cobra, and it is pretty intense for me, but sadly now a days, some people think 400whp is boring... Not sure why... 400whp is pretty nuts! 😂
If you go with a V6 Regal, that engine will outlive you. Absolutely indestructible
Love how the Grand National is pretty much the only V6 muscle car with legendary status.
Typhoon, Syclone, and the 89 Turbo Trans Am which had the same engine found in the Buick GNX
@@seanthornton6844 The Trucks had a Turbo charged Vortec 4.3 not the Buick 3.8
@@Trussme96 Tru, but the 89 Turbo Trans Am did. Which means the GN wasn't the only V6 Muscle car/Turck / Suv.
I would argue the old Thunderbird Supercoupe and Turbocoupe have earned that as well.
Since we mentioned the Catfish Camaro, why not include the New Edge Mustang. Still on the Foxbody platform, and it has a huge aftermarket support too
Can only fit so many cars in the video! I'll DEFINITELY do another muscle car vid soon. I'll keep the new edge in mind!
And unlike the catfish it looks good, at least the 99-04😁
Prob because that generation of mustangs were absolute garbage compared to those LS1 Camaros lol.
@@adamsutherland7875 maybe so, but I’ll tell ya one thing. 20 + years later, you see a lot more GT New Edges out and about than Catfish Camaros, so maybe they aren’t THAT bad
@@BryanSalazarAyala They're definitely not bad, LS1 was just a big leap ahead of the competition is all. Took a while for Ford to catch up. I actually dont know why 4th gen Camaros are so rare nowadays. Maybe they've all just been driven to death lol. Idk.
I agree on the last entry got my 3v mustang for 7.5k with under 100k miles in california 2 years ago and it still running strong , beautiful and still gives me the same enjoyment as if I first got it 🚀🚀
Bought a 1991 Corvette for under 10k and this thing is so cool and fun
I felt like the GTO & or the G8 should of been on this list. At least an honorable mention.
GTO prices be wild now
And V8's are about to disappear!
GTO prices are through the roof
@@123andme nah fr. I wanted a gto soooo bad.
I hope you mean the v6 one because you’re not getting a g8 gt fof less than 10000
I have a Stang GT 2007....and I love it
Gotta be honest, I've been wanting to get a hold of a muscle car to do some tinkering with. The Malibu has a certain appeal for the cyberpunk-ish vibe I have in mind. Might not seem the best, but, some aftermarket parts, some specialized digital dash gauges, maybe some chase-styled tail-lights, swap a lot of electronics out for some newer stuff, and I think it could work.
I like how he called some of the early entries old, to me if I want a muscles I start at 1972 or older, but to each their own lol. Nice list of American V8 cars, keep up the great work guys!
Old doesn't mean bad! It's just ya know, 1972 was 50 years ago
@@IdealMediaChannel I wasn't insinuating that you thought old was bad, I was saying to me old is pre 1972, I love older cars that is why I bought a 1966 AMC Marlin lol. (Another possible option in the V8, Manual, RWD, under $10k option btw)
I’ve owned three foxes, and while they are a bit squirrely, still an absolute joyride, I bought my most recent (1989 gt) right before the jump on them and I can say that it will probably be a keeper
9:00 I knew as soon as I saw that engine bay that there's a number of issues with that car. Because it's front wheel drive, and has a V8 under that hood, there'll be a lot of torque steer. Meaning that the car will try to go in a different direction if you try to accelerate hard. It happens with almost all FWD cars with plenty of power, regardless of what's under the hood e.g Mazda Speed 3. Secondly, because it's a big engine in a front wheel drive platform that ordinarily shouldn't have a bigger engine than a 3.6/3.8 v6, they could be a nightmare to work on. But if you can overlook those issues, the LS engines are bulletproof and sound great, and tuning isn't impossible.
The torque steer is not that bad at all. You can make it 400hp and it can still be a daily driver. They arent too hard to work on either. You just have to get passed the engine being sideways 😂
Don't forget that they used the same v6 transmission that could barely handle the L67 engine. Most are in thr junkyard or for sale with a blown transmission. Total fail by GM. Had they made it rwd it would have been way better. I'll take the L67 3.8 supercharged engine over the ls engine any day.
Appreciate the shout out man! 🤙 @4:53 lol
In the U.S. (the northeast) u can get the previous gen Chevelle Malibu for $5-$10k

These prices are getting out of hand I swear I saw an 07 SRT8 for sale with a lil over 100k miles for sale for 10 grand a couple of weeks ago now they jumped to 15-20k.
Yep. The market is insane right now. I just bought a car for 2x what I would've paid for it 1.5 years ago. It's wild.
@@IdealMediaChannel when will it go down

Great video man
I had a 94 Z28 with 2.73s and it had all the power of some modern cars in 2023 and then some. That LT1 had violent amounts of torque and a strong response to any mods like intake, exhaust, and especially higher flowing heads. GM has a lot of interesting motors. The LT1 had reverse flow heads, and that was a huge advantage for longevity. Another engine that's interesting is their 4.2 Atlas inline 6 from the Trailblazers in 2002.
Definitely a solid list. I think the Impala SS and Jaguar XJR should make the next list.
Jag is an interesting choice...
That's a pretty cool review. I like Ford products but I have to say I would choose a catfish over all of them simply because they can handle better than anything else on this list in my opinion.
Thanks for covering the American made cars. I’m a Dodge guy. I love the Charger look.
Owned a 96 Ws6 and fair warning on those Lt1s. Be careful with the water pumps and distributor; they tend to be problematic. Those parts are close to each other, the water pump can leak onto the distributor leading to failure. Lt1s are great if you take care of them.
Right why would he put the Grand Prix in the list instead of the Ws6 🤦🏾♂️
Putting the LT1's on here makes no sense to me. 98-02 WS6's and Z28/SS's have the LS1 which is not only more powerful, it's ridiculously reliable, and has a aftermarket 500x bigger than the LT. Like you could have just cut this whole video down to... 98-02 Camaro/Trans Am. Since they fit the budget, and outclass every car on this list by a substantial margin.
Good list. Some of these might not be the fastest, but they have an extensive aftermarket. You can add good power with little money. Trust me I know. I have a 3 cars that are on this list. Two G Bodies 82 Monte Carlo and 78 Malibu Wagon, 06 Dodge Charger RT and 2004 Ford Mustang Gt.
Some other oddball cheap muscle would be MN12 Fords, Mercurys, and even Lincolns. You got everything from the 5.0L Small Block, 4.6L 2V, 4.6L 4V, and even a supercharged 3.8L V6 that puts out 330 lb-ft. I got a '95 Lincoln Mark VIII LSC in college for $900, that's practically $3 per horsepower! The 300C and Magnum RT are also good options to shop for alongside the Charger.
I'll keep those in mind for the next list. I think there's gonna be more muscle car vids coming out.
Always wanted one of those thunderbird supercoupes
I think the third gen Camaro is another car that belonged on the list. Got a ‘91 with the 305 for $4k that runs and is in pretty decent condition, but you could find a nicer example for under $10k pretty easily
I'll keep that in mind for the next one!
Make a part 2 and include the sn95 its definitely slept on

I love yalls content. I do have a comment tho. And I'm sure a couple other people can agree. Normal salary doesn't apply to alot. To some dirt cheap is 10g. But for people from the walk of life as I am. 5g is expensive lol so how about a video for even cheaper cars that are totally fun. I've had fun in cars I've paid less then 1g for. Just a thought lol
We'll try to aim for lower price points but the used car market right now is ridiculous, so finding decent cars under $5,000 is tough!
@@IdealMediaChannel oh I know. I miss the days of fun junkers. And me personally I think it's people thinking too highly of what they own and trying to screw people outta more money. I see it all the time.
Eh, I can't blame sellers for putting whatever price people will pay for a vehicle. I did it with my GX470, I sold it for 2x what I bought it for! Would I have bought it for that price? No. But if the market demands it, I'm not gonna stop them.
They have some lists wit fun cars under 3k. I only make 45k a year and I'm able to afford a Focus ST and 350z at the same time, all about how you budget fam
Fox bodies are getting stupid expensive too. Had one back in the early 80s, but mine was a turd! I still like them though.
I bought a CLK 55AMG for 11k. Classic german muscle, with one of the best motors ever made. Car sold for 140k brand new and it was a convertible. There is a series of supercars from this era that have plummeted in price due to high maintenance. If you are a DIY'r there are a few worth a look. I did trade it in for a Mustang though lol.
I agree on the 2005 and up Mustang. It's an awesome car at an awesome price.

Hi hi
The charger is perfect for if you tend to be late to work.
Another sleeper muscle car is the 90s thunderbirds, they have the same v8 as the mustangs from those years which are mod happy, they have a bigger wheelbase an more weight so you can really throw power down with em, problem is they dont come with manual so fitting one is a bitch but if ur cool eith automatic some high flow headers and a supercharger mmmmm that baby would fly

The best thing about the Dodge Charger is that it respawns in your garage if it gets destroyed. Lol(Gta5 reference)

Instead of a catfish if your looking for an awesome looking car that has the same power plant it would be a Pontiac fire hawk. It is a dead car brand and is loved by enthusiasts but it’s a great looking car with a nice couple v8 options for anyone.
Gosh didn't know there were still catfish Camaro every so often would see them or C4 to C5 burning up on Los Angeles California USA Highways or streets.
