  • As an owner of a 1984 Corvette, I can say its the most fun one will ever have with 200 hp. My car has the Z51 handling package and it rides like it on rails. It's a joy seeing the LCD dash work and the pop up headlights complete the entire package. It's a great highway car and I could do long multi-day road trip with it. If Chevy went a different direction with the Corvette in 1984, then it most likely would've died in the 80s

    • @@IdealMediaChannel It's well worth it, plus the early 84-89 cars are the cheapest of the C4s. I got my 84 for around 5k. In 1990 they changed the interior and went back to analog gauges with a fighter jet inspired dash. In 1991, GM updated the exterior with rounded edges and changed the engine the gen I L98 350 to the gen II LT1 5.7. The later cars typically go for over 10k and ZR1s go for around 25-30k

Much more fun to pleasure drive without worrying about going to jail anytime soon. 😁 I have a 2003 mustang cobra, and it is pretty intense for me, but sadly now a days, some people think 400whp is boring... Might not seem the best, but, some aftermarket parts, some specialized digital dash gauges, maybe some chase-styled tail-lights, swap a lot of electronics out for some newer stuff, and I think it could work.

    @natepetras6143@natepetras61432 жыл бұрын
  • 9:00 I knew as soon as I saw that engine bay that there's a number of issues with that car. Because it's front wheel drive, and has a V8 under that hood, there'll be a lot of torque steer. Meaning that the car will try to go in a different direction if you try to accelerate hard. It happens with almost all FWD cars with plenty of power, regardless of what's under the hood e.g Mazda Speed 3. Secondly, because it's a big engine in a front wheel drive platform that ordinarily shouldn't have a bigger engine than a 3.6/3.8 v6, they could be a nightmare to work on. But if you can overlook those issues, the LS engines are bulletproof and sound great, and tuning isn't impossible.

    @damilolaakanni@damilolaakanni2 жыл бұрын
    • The torque steer is not that bad at all. You can make it 400hp and it can still be a daily driver. They arent too hard to work on either. You just have to get passed the engine being sideways 😂

      @816elantran@816elantran2 жыл бұрын
    • Don't forget that they used the same v6 transmission that could barely handle the L67 engine. Most are in thr junkyard or for sale with a blown transmission. Total fail by GM. Had they made it rwd it would have been way better. I'll take the L67 3.8 supercharged engine over the ls engine any day.

  • I had a 94 Z28 with 2.73s and it had all the power of some modern cars in 2023 and then some. That LT1 had violent amounts of torque and a strong response to any mods like intake, exhaust, and especially higher flowing heads. GM has a lot of interesting motors. The LT1 had reverse flow heads, and that was a huge advantage for longevity. Another engine that's interesting is their 4.2 Atlas inline 6 from the Trailblazers in 2002.

  • Owned a 96 Ws6 and fair warning on those Lt1s. Be careful with the water pumps and distributor; they tend to be problematic. Those parts are close to each other, the water pump can leak onto the distributor leading to failure. Lt1s are great if you take care of them.

Like you could have just cut this whole video down to... 98-02 Camaro/Trans Am. Since they fit the budget, and outclass every car on this list by a substantial margin.

  • Another sleeper muscle car is the 90s thunderbirds, they have the same v8 as the mustangs from those years which are mod happy, they have a bigger wheelbase an more weight so you can really throw power down with em, problem is they dont come with manual so fitting one is a bitch but if ur cool eith automatic some high flow headers and a supercharger mmmmm that baby would fly

    • yeah brother they slipped up on this one!!(WS6owner). there's a big difference between the two. the latter is now horrible but the opti spark situation definitely needs to be taken care of before the car to reach it's full performance/reliability potential. still a fan though!
