Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee holds a hearing in the 2020 Georgia election interference case. Donald Trump’s lawyers are back in court for a hearing to address motions about the trial and evidence. This is the first hearing since Judge McAfee ruled Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis could stay on the case as prosecutor if Nathan Wade withdrew from the case - which he did.

    • Its called "The Rule of Law" and its not about finding Trump guilty before an election, its about legal precedent according to the law, according to the tribunal process, and the rights of a president under the American Constitution. You might not like it .... because you personally despise Trump.... but just like yourself, he has rights, and as President, he has Absolute Immunity which is only punishable through Impeachment, as defined in the Constitution and well supported by Supreme Court precedent. A President can not be punished for actions taken while in office either during, or post his term unless he is impeached by congress.... That folks is the law...

    • And the "law" is not above the constitution. This is a violation of 1st, 8th, and 16th rights. Speech has rights. And trying to silence it through false allegations is illegal. These are everyone's rights being placed on trial. Would you like to be tried for posting your thoughts? That's what this trial is about. If they win this case nobody has the right to disagree with the government. Better think about why they chose him to set the president. Who else could fight their claims if he loses? Nobody.     • The planning of a bank robbery, are just words, the actions of those words, is what becomes criminal, in the action of the crime! The get away driver, didn't hold a gun, nor even enter the bank, but will be charged if there is a resulting 'Murder', even if it is a heart attack from an innocent bank patron a day or so later, due to the stress of the encounter!   • If you say "this is a holdup" in the middle of an empty open field, it is not a crime. However, if you go into a bank and say the same thing, it's a crime and not protected speech. Essentially what the defendant did is go into a bank (called the Georgia Secretary of State's office) and said this is a holdup (not protected speech). When the bank robber told his cohorts to hand him the money bag (votes) and his gun (threats if no capitulation) those are the statements leading up to the phone call.

    • Our legal system is messy and defendants with lots of money for lawyers know how to play it to their advantage. It's why so many big criminals get off. It was set up to give some advantages to poor defendants, but most poor ones can't get good legal representation that will or can use all the tactics that wealthy defendants do. Pro bono lawyers aren't motivated to work hard for their clients but ones getting millions of dollars are.

It is NOT, under any circumstances, any 'speech' that may happen to refer to a political process or the commission of a crime and then abused as protected. That's not how it works. You can't set a theatre on fire, shout "fire" to cause panic and chaos and then say that you can't be charged with arson because you were just exercising your right to free speech when you shouted 'fire'.
