Crushing Hammers With 300 Ton Hydraulic Press inside our new concrete bullet proof bunker with bullet proof windows and ar500 roof and door! The hammers exploded with such a force that it generated seismic waves / local earthquake resulting in noise pollution and shaking windows around the neighborhood :D So don't try this at home!
You can now buy your own hydraulic press through us! Press inquiries hpc@profipress.info
Here is the link where you can check out standard Profi Press models rhtc-workshoppress.com/ and if you need special custom made machine just send email and Profi Press engineers will design machine that suits your needs.

    @dimitar4y@dimitar4yАй бұрын
    • There's a slight problem in that. If the concrete wall cannot take these hits, how do you think a layer of paint would? A better way would be to do it like they do with shooting targets: paint it with a bright colour only. Then the hit points would show up as dull grey as the paint disintegrates from it.

  • Camera Hire Technician here. That NANLITE soft box will just get more holes, the more you crush. Take off the soft box COMPLETELY and save that as it’s quite expensive. Get yourself a Roll of F2 / 250 Frost lighting Gel on a roll. (Around €60) Gaffer tape a 2 foot by 4 foot piece to a metal square, it’s called a Trace Frame if you Google it. When something blows through it, just cut another piece off that roll and replace it. (You’ll get about 6 frames out of a roll) It’s going to be more cost effective doing this due to all the shrapnel flying round. (You could even make it a 4 x 4 frame and give that light a little bit more protection) Hope this helps.

      @eldoradoboy@eldoradoboyАй бұрын
    • @@eldoradoboy For protection, maybe but heat is the issue. It will melt that plexi in no time if it’s in front of that LED. (I’ve seen many protective caps returned melted when not removed before striking) It’s not meant to protect it, it’s just a beneficial secondary perk to having a trace frame set up. If stretched tightly on the frame like a drumskin, it can absorb a fair amount of impact, as long as it not sharp. Me and work colleagues used to see if we could punch and kick through the old Trace Frames. We ALL failed.

They have these springs for big computers so the ship bobbing up and down in the sea doesnt wreck the thing. It can handle a tremendous amount of weight. They make them for huge ammo racks that hold several tons.

At 10:23 when the machine jumps in slow-mo, it is hard to get a feel for it jumping against the solid gray background. Edit: Or just mount the scale sometimes for the "big" crushes, so it doesn't distract during simple crushes.

If a foreigner on the other side of the world asks you where you're from, and your answer is something like "Phoenix, Arizona!", then that foreigner would have every right to shoot you. Last time I checked, Russia is a country, but "Pennsylvania" is not. Hear that, idiots at the sensationalist DailyMail? Even with the global presence of KFC, I'm pretty sure no one in countries like Bangladesh knows what a "Kentucky" is. No, "California" is not a country either. It's merely a subnational territory within a country. Your stupid comment is way too US-focused and US-centric. The US-centric mentality plaguing the internet is a deadly consequence of the USA existing in its own little bubble, isolated from the rest of the world.

  • Awesome video! This is why I was talking about decoupling last week - to prevent too much force from transmitting out and doing stuff like causing seismic waves. To decouple that press from the ground, it's similar to doing a guitar amp or a generator. Build a platform out of wood, one which has two skids resting against the ground instead of the entire flat surface, and pad it on both sides with mass-loaded vinyl, yoga mat, or whatever. So then the press sits on foam/vinyl, then wood, then more foam/vinyl, then the ground. The vibrations have to overcome the impedance of all 3 materials, and since the press is on a platform, only a small part of it is making direct contact with the ground. The rest of the force will be transmitted through the air instead of the ground.

    @steelmote@steelmoteАй бұрын
    • Maybe the weight of the machine will overcome those materials.

      @White000Crow@White000CrowАй бұрын
    • @@White000CrowWood is incredibly strong in compression. Two 6x6" wooden skids can support a house. Properly situated, they can bear hundreds of thousands of pounds! But yes, it does need to be serious wood, not 2x4s. Steel would of course be stronger, but it would conduct so much more vibration. Wood is a mass of densely-packed fibers, trapped gases, etc. and it's hard for force to transmit effectively through that.

If you are next to a huge construction crane when it's working, you can feel the ground move too, or if you are within a few hundred yards if a crane drops a load on the ground, it shakes a bit. • I wonder if bolting the machine to the floor will increase the deadliness of the projectiles. 5 tons of steel jumping up must be absorbing a lot of the energy that is released when things break!

    @mjiii@mjiiiАй бұрын
    • Doubt it. The hammers would still reach the same failure pressure, and the explosion happens so quickly that the debris is already clear of the press before the press jumps off the ground as a result of the sudden drop in resistance. Bolting the press to the floor would transfer the uplift forces directly into the slab which, depending on the thickness of the slab and the size of the bolts, could be even more catastrophic for damage when you have several tons of force trying to lift the slab up in a few thousandths of a second. Edit: the slab would need a significant rebar detail for the top mat to stop it from cracking apart, because the top of the slab would be subjected to compression forces from supporting the weight of the machinery on top of it, to suddenly becoming subject to massive tension forces as the machine's uplift attempts to lift up the slab. Without some serious rebar on the upper layer, I could see the slab cracking on an experiment like this.

  • In the future they tell the legend of Hanna and Lauri the Metal carver, who caused earthquakes with a machine capable of Destroying solid Metal hammers. Just don't tell Thor about it he probably would like to put Mjölnir in the Press which would certainly cause a earthquake destroying most of Europe or at least the Press and the neighbors house. 😄

  • Replace the light box-fabric with plain-weave woven fiberglass. It'll diffuse the light perfectly well and catch most shrapnel.

    @verdatum@verdatumАй бұрын
    • While I doubt fiberglass would stop the bigger stuff like hammer #3, if it did catch, it would likely damage the light or tip it over. My thinking: "Do you want a bullet getting caught up and stopping half way inside you or passing 'cleanly' through?"

      @gth042@gth042Ай бұрын
    • @@gth042 I do not mean to imply that one layer of glass fabric will even come close to stopping a chunk of proper tool steel at high velocity. But I also reject your final thought. What I want to happen to me as a fleshbag is very different from what I want to happen to a replaceable lighting rig. A projectile passing-through might be nice, but a higher priority to me would be "I would very much like not to get hit in a way that causes me to begin to bleed-out.

      @verdatum@verdatumАй бұрын
    • @@verdatum I think we agree in basic premise there. The thought behind my analogy was simply that a "plain hole" might be less likely to intersect something important than a curved or zig-zagged one where the momentum has fully converted.

  • Search for dampening systems used for industrial vibrating screens. Either cylindrical reinforced rubber dampeners or (more expensive) pneumatic dampeners (like the ones used in truck suspensions)
