  • We use spring isolation mounts for Large HVAC Equipment in the US. They are sized according to your equipment weight. Those mounts would allow the press to move and not transfer the hard shots into the ground. Is it possible to mount the control panel outside the bunker to protect it even more. Thanks for the Videos. I would hate to have to buy those bearings, they look extremely expensive.

    • @@divemonkeys Motion Ind. is pretty expensive, other sources have that bearing for half the price. But the one they unwrapped seems higher precision than the 24130, so likely even more expensive. I don't think I can bear to watch it get crushed...

  • Quick suggestion when crushing the roll bearings - instead of crushing them from the outside/top of the bearing housing (which is not the force direction it meant to support), use 2 of the same size roll bearings, with a fitting rod between/through them. then crush the middle of the rod (which will transfer the force down to the ball bearings within the roll bearings), until something happens. for suspense, the rod can be of thicker and thicker walls, up to solid steel (of short length removing as much as possible the rod from bending/breaking).

  • for the mounting bolt I would use a bolt with a large spring between the bolt and the press so if it jumps up it first has to go against the spring force as for how much force the spring should have....I guess something like a spring rate of 200N/mm at a preload of 50% with a spring length of about 100mm should do for the fastening springs, that should protect anchor bolts, but also requires pretty strong anchors to begin with, so I'm not sure if that's feasable maybe put a larger number of weaker springs underneath the press to increase the area too, altho solid rubber mats may do the trick too, but you need to pay attention to the aging of the rubber
