  • Actually , there were even more to the story . Just after Howard Carter and his team left the cave , a huge sandstorm sprang up and whirled round the mouth of the cave . After it died out , a hawk was seen flying to the west . The hawk was a symbol of the royal family ; the west was the Egyptian land of the dead . Lord Carnarvon died on April 6 , 1923 , less then a year after the discovery . He died from a mosquito bite from his left cheek which became infected . When doctors later examined the mummy of Tutankhamen they noticed a strange mark on the mummy’s face … on his left cheek ! The night Lord Carnarvon died in the Egyptian Capital Cairo , the city lights failed and plunged the city into darkness . At the same time in Hampshire , England , his dog let out a how and died . ‘ The cruse of Tutankhamen ! ‘ people muttered . In the following months the deaths of several others who visited were blamed on the curse . One was an Egyptian prince , Ali Farmy Bey , who cou,d trace his family back to the pharaohs. He was murdered in a London Hotel and his brother committed suicided .

    • That is just urban legend, all of those supernatural stories were only added long after his death. And only actually 8 people presented at the tomb opening, ever died within a dozen years. Howard Carter died only 16 years later; Lord Carnavon's daughter, who also one of the first people to enter it, lived for another 57 years.

This reminds me of the Curse of Timur when the Soviets opened the Tomb Of Tamberlane ,1941 Uzbekh S.S.R., with an inscription that “ *Whosoever Disturbs My Tomb Will Unleash an Invader More Terrible than I* ". Afterwards Operation Barbarossa was commenced by the German High Command which led to Stalin ordering his burial , strangely Stalingrad was Liberated and the tide of war shifted in favor of the Russians. • I am so glad we finally get one with Egypt-ball, both ancient and current ^^ (though the Egyptian Empire's flag is unknown, the eye of Ra is a wise choice since 99% of the population was pious and followed a polytheistic faith.)

    • I love Egypt so much, I'm just so glad you made this. ^^ can we get more Egypt-ball animations in the future to? maybe covering the Egypt-Hittite war? (where Ramses "won" despite the official record saying it was a stalemate.)

  • Sad fact time! Most of Egyptian ancient tomb nowadays was empty, because the egyptomania and grave robber. It all started When Napoleon campaign on Egypt. When the European found Egypt unique it quickly became trend. People can get mummies so easy around that time. Btw the grave robber was a thing even before Europe come to Egypt Btw again if something wrong pls correct me
