    • Ben was back for the panel with Malcolm Nance. And Bill went on Ben's podcast. So, yeah ... I don't think Maher really avoided him. Easy sailing? Well he looked like he was backed into a corner, when he said Trump wasn't the thought president. Or when he said the constitution is a durable document, when Bill asked him if he thinks Trump respects the rule of law. I'd say otherwise he handled himself pretty well, but he did admit to some things about Trump that he probably wouldn't have otherwise.

    • @@percussionmax Bill had avoided having him on until this one-on-one setting. Once he saw Ben was pleasant and sensible, he followed up with the other segments. Ben was extremely divided on Trump, so he was never backed into a corner about him. Maher needs to give it a rest on Trump. He blathers on and on about him, and it gets really tiresome. He needs to find another target.

We may not agree on everything, but I think he is definitely an intelligent person who is capable of being rational and objective. I don't know why Bill keeps attacking Trump as if he is expecting Ben to unconditionally defend him because Shapiro isn't doing that. He has always been capable of being critical of Trump when he thinks he is wrong.

    • Billy F, are they "small aspects" though? It's one of the first things that came to Shapiro's mind when he was getting into how Democrats are "insane". It's what Trump supporters are most vocal about. Maybe I should've said they both mentioned but didn't go into why they did or didn't support trump, but Maher was totally fair about separating Shapiro from most Trump supporters, which are idiots. Everything before Shapiro got into how Democrats are "insane" was completely civil and fair. I can tell your education didn't go beyond high school and you probably hated writing class. You sound like you're arguing with someone about how your favorite wrestler is the best. If you want an intelligent discussion on policy, go read a book or take a macroeconomics class. Usually Shapiro events have some great discussions but yes the same applies to any presentation. Actual Debates often have a diverse Audience, that's the difference between debate and TV production - Bill Maher: Civil Discourse falls into the latter category.
