    • @@pawegrzywna5191 I agree that Iga's playing style has more variations and is much more interesting to watch (not as entertaining as Ash Barty's though) than Elena's (for the time being), and that she is the more aggressive player and her defensive abilities often are nearly on Djokovic's level. But let's be thankful that with Elena and Aryna there are two players who can test Iga, because otherwise matches with Iga would be rather a bit boring for me to watch.

    • @@charleslemagne202 I think she may develop more skills in the future to be like Ash Barty. She will need it to maintain high level. None of big three do nice dropshots and volleys, they are mastering their strongest abilities instead of applying new elements to surprise the opponent. I think Krejcikova is better in terms of variety, skills and technique but she lack power.

However, Elena knows Iga's game of style now after previous defeats and know her serves and angled shots will keep Swiatek moving side to sides which took a toll on her thigh and knee eventually due to physical limitations and wear and tear. Cool, calm, and collective as usual for Elena Rybakina. Unfortunately, for Iga Swiatek, she was not able to continue to compete and had to retire. It is worth Lena to return her serve and accuracy of strikes - and Iga will simply fly off the court. Even running and squats won't save her. • Sad to see Iga exit like this, but she literally asked for it. For a good portion of the match, she had Ryba on the ropes, right where she wanted her to be. And then, when she had to pull that final trigger, the nerves came in and she produced a textbook chokejob. The injury that followed was nothing more than a side effect of that choke, because had she not gifted Elena that re-break in the 2nd by commiting no less than three (!) UEs and then instead converted at least one of another three doable BPs, the 2nd set wouldn't even go to a tiebreak. A monumental choke!

  • During the first set it was raining lightly (more of a drizzle) so the ball was heavier and Rybakina had to compensate during her serve that's why most of her serves were long. Her groundstrokes flat as they are resulted in balls often finding the net. She was landing around 40% of her first serves so Iga was feasting on second serves that were bouncing just within Iga's strike zone. The rise in Rybakina's quality of play starting the middle of the second set coincided with the rain stopping. That was when she started serving well and committed less unforced errors making life difficult for Iga as Elena was able to attack Iga's forehand more.

In the beginning she was completely outmatched but in the 2nd set Rybakina was starting to hit some very good shots on the move. In the Australian Open Rybakina was adding volleys into her repertoire, in Indian Wells she was hitting good lobs and in the final of Indian Wells she finally beat Sabalenka by learning how to hit some down the line winners instead of always hitting hard cross court winners, then she added drop shots in Miami, and now she is learning how to play offensive and defensive tennis on the move. • If rybakina wants to defeat ostapenko...she needs to be ready to run at the corners and not stand still ....after serving recover quickly and start moving.....penko backhand is very good
