Woodturning - I thought it was risky using this burl !! (no mid roll ads)
In this woodturning video I turn a hybrid goblet with 2 captive rings, I thought they were maybe some inclusions in this Burr Elm but not as large and deep as they were, I showed the first section I had to resin in the video but the inclusions were all down the stem so there was a lot of work off camera to try and stop the thing blowing apart.

Woah! The ‘bowl’ of the goblet has a transparency about it which I love. Fascinating to learn how you make the rings around the stem. What a wonderful medium to work with, wood is surprising, one never knows what lies beneath the gnarled exterior. You’re a very clever man Andy 👍
Don’t believe I could ever get tired of watching you make these Captured Ring Goblets. Each one, though similar, is distinctly beautiful ❤️
Thank you
First, i like ur job
That piece absolutely glows - and those little dancing rings made me smile.
No words can explain how awesome this is and how talented you truly are Andy!
Thanks
Wonderful, as all master craftsmen you make it look so easy 👍🏼
It would make for a beautiful set...no two the same.
That was great.😮
I love the way the rings dance along the goblet’s stem. Beautiful result ( as always ) !
A well crafted Goblet. Awesome work Andy
Absolutely gorgeous!

@@AndyPhillipWoodturning hey andy as all ways you hit it out into outer space dude truly is a goblet for a king love your work dude
I have seen this same project so many times, but it's still a real treat to watch someone with your skill execute a classic wedding goblet. Thanks for sharing the videos.😎
OMG I love it! The color is perfect and the combo of gnarled wood with transparent resin is so perfect.
I love the creations he makes using wood burl. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen. Pure perfection!
My first wife’s dad was a woodcarver, & he once made a similar piece to this one, only he never used resins. He was a very good man whom I loved very much; Thank you for creating this piece to remind me of his gifts!❤
Good job 😊 I'm an old timer and stopped turning for years... I really like your videos 😍
Awesome! Thank you!
You and the wood made a stunning work of art sir. The burl is a beautiful piece of wood. The resin color is right on the mark for this burl. Thanks for sharing your hard work with us.🌿 👍👍👍👍👍
You are amazing in your art. Stellar. Brilliant.
Thanks 👍
That's a beautiful piece
Beautiful! I especially love how delicate you make your creations. I like the thin delicate workmanship. Thank you once again. Awesome crafting sir.
Andy, it's simply gorgeous. Well done indeed.
Thanks Kimberly
Always amazing to watch a masterful artist at work. Bravo as usual!!
Stunning as always! Fabulous piece and live the resin colour
Another absolute beaut!! Congrats to the happy couple, whoever & wherever they are.
I love these goblets with two rings! They are fascinating!
Yeah my friend... ...I'm stumped. I have no words that can accurately express my feelings about your work.
That is such fun, especially the contrast between the swirling cloud of the resin and the heavy patterning of the wood. One of your classic designs made new every time by the unpredictable texture of the wood. Well worth the effort - I can quite understand any hesitancy you felt about using this burl - it did start to look a bit dodgy at one stage but you pulled it through.
Yes, your new "Cat's Claw" from a scraper looks great and seems to work more efficiently with better stability.......great idea!
Sensational Andy!! 😍
Always good to see people use the handymans secret weapon used for art projects.
I think that is my favorite goblet yet... Absolutely beautiful.❤❤❤❤
Thanks
That bright gold resin against the golden tone of the wood 👩🍳😘👌! I don't think I've ever seen someone use compressed air to push the resin into voids like that, it was a clever solution.
Absolutely gorgeous piece of art! 👌👍
Thank you
This is beautiful, I love the translucency you have with this and the wedding goblet. Captive rings are their own kind of magic and the burl really adds to that visual, shame you said it was so hard work.
Andy this is a great double captive ring goblet. A great gift for a wedding or an anniversary. I love the way the resin makes look like a fire. I’ve said it before your simply amazing with your ideas.
Cheers
Absolutely gorgeous! You truly did a fantastic job to create a piece that is so majestic! Great job!!
Thank you so much!
Looks like something you'd see in a castle! I knew it'd be something beautiful before i started the video! I always hit the like button before even starting the video.
Beautiful, Andy! Thanks for sharing your talent. Again. :)
Your work is delightful and your videos are fun to watch. Thank you.😊
Im happy you went with the burl...holy cow!!
I always love an appearance of the little basketball:)
😁🏀
Love the patterning on this burl. I didn't think that particular color of resin would look good, but when you got the finish on I really liked it. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks 👍
My family makes ultra premium wine in the Napa Valley, reminds me of Cork, love to watch every week, anyone getting married? Great job Andy!!!
I always look forward to your videos. Such beautiful pieces of work you display.
Thankyou
You must choose, but Choose Wisely
Andy, once again, you win the cup.
I often find the contrast between the tradition of old wood and the modern resin pleasing and beautiful. I have an Oak burl I'm thinking could make a nice platter with the addition of some resin.
Perfectly done, beautiful ❤️❤️❤️
So beautiful
Gorgeous wood chalice from that burl. Amazing work

Oh, Andy. When you choose a resin color that's compatible with the project's wood component, it turns out extremely well! Many thanks! 👍

Breathtakingly beautiful
Beautiful!
Gorgeous as usual, Andy! Would also have looked nice as a stemless goblet, but then it would have lost the rest of the Burl, which is beautiful.
Gorgeous golden amber with the burl. Love your creations
Thanks so much
Bravo Andy . Ottima tecnica di lavorazione !

This is freakin' Awesomeness! The golden goblet! 😊
