I felt safe thinking that this movie just was a bit exaggerated, you know, to be humorous and to deliver its point Given recent events i am very very scared with the possibility that don't look up isn't exaggerated.
I don't think so. Maybe Jonah Hill's character was slightly exaggerated, but everything else feels so real.

Fun fact, I got about half way through the movie before realizing that was Cate Blanchett. You know, just the dark queen being a fucking great actor, DISAPPEARING into her role.

Btw - It‘s not that Leonardo‘s and Jennifer‘s real life interview that went wrong . It‘s their characters‘ (‘staged’) interview depicted in a scene of that movie that is scripted to go wrong . That movie is funny, scary and depressing at the same time, because it shows and reminds us how nowadays bipartisan politics can override or confuse common sense of the science . Science is typically established by mostly the respected university community and has gone through their strict peer reviews. The general public acceptance of that science used to be pretty straight forward , just as we all agree that the earth rotates around the sun , without having to proof it ourselves , and by just reading scientific articles about it. By using KZhead or Facebook on a computer we indirectly accept that electricity was discovered based on science. By driving a car and flying on airplanes we blindly accept that they are built based on a technology that‘s resulted out of science.

I just hate how realistic the misogyny in this movie was. Dr. Mindy getting all the credit for Kate’s discovery, getting to be interviewed again and again on the popular show while Kate gets interviewed by people that belittle her, him getting to work for the White House while she is shunned, and so much more
I think it was because she shouted and he stayed civil. This is INDEPENDENT of gender. He was also cancelled with a black mask on his head in the car as soon as he did the same thing towards the end of the film. My god you looneys make it all about gender all of the time
You are right but also he went along with Irswhewell until nearly the end of the movie, she already saw through him before the meeting scene. You are still right that there is an element of misogyny but not as much as cronyism and late-stage capitalism.
