    • It doesn't matter what shape a brick is, we are comparing mice And there is no sane reason to ever pick up a heavier mouse. Lighter mice are objectively better in everyway (all other variables like shape assumed equal)

  • Trying to decide if I take the chance on the NP-01 (been using sensei clones up until a gpx sl which i find uncomfortable due to the long high hump) or if I just get a viper v2 pro since I can return it and then decide between the XE & NP-01 later. Ive been using Nixeus Revels and DM1 S2s until i couldnt buy them so weight doesnt bother me as much as shape.

  • One of your best reviews for sure. Thing is, any one who has been doing this for a long time, and has plus 8 to 20 years of gaming experience, we've seen all sorts of breeds of tech for mice over the years. but one thing is for certain (especially for those who've been in a competitive scene a long time), at a certain point, weight is either too heavy or too light. When you go too light, you do lose some natural aiming stability. Especially if it's a pin point focused game like CS where hitscan really matters. Where start and stop friction is critical. 80 grams to 85 is Leaving the heavier side of things where I don't think you should go above 90~95ish, if you can help it. But at the same time, going below 70 grams I truly feel you also run into diminishing returns just the same. You don't want to lose stability. Having a weight in between 70 ~ to 90 grams... Opens up a load of versatility with different types of mousepads. But if you've ever noticed, using extreme light weight mice... it doesn't seem to matter what feet you put on that mouse / mouse pad combination - if you ever want more control to slow down the feel a bit more for a "pin point locked in feel". It's almost impossible. It's cause mice are getting too light (you're practically just pushing helium around at this point), and there is a point in time where you'll sacrifice mouse stability / consistency for something that feels like ice. Some people like that feeling, and that's fine too, but weight is a lot more deep than just, 'lighter is better' finding your ideal weight balance with your preferred shape is key. I think the NP-01 is secretly goated because it gets BOTH of these things extremely right. The shape, plus it's weight, and it's sensor implementation... is like.. a 'tri-force of nailed it.' Easily one of the best mice ever made, and definitely a main of mine. I think it's something you should explore more @boardzy - focusing on the mixture of shape, the weight balance, and the sensor (cause not all sensors feel the same, and have mass DPI deviation) and analyzing how and why they make you feel more comfortable while using to acquire targets. Which one feels like 'ol faithful' that you can just pick up and destroy with? Why do you feel this way why using it? Definitely has to deal with these three things. Something as simple as, this is 50 grams so it must be better, is definitely not the answer alone. A lot of people get the wrong idea and just think LIGHT is best. Which simply just isn't true, there's more to it, when the best aimers in the world don't always use the lightest.

  • I had an np01-s wired, it was my favourite shape but I ended up using lighter mice just because of weight preference. at the end of the day, people are going to use what they play best with, and if this is that mouse, then they should use it.

  • I had to get the NP-01 instead of NP-01s because I have freakishly wide & long thumb pads. I've had many accidental clicks with the side buttons on other cheapy mice which is deal breaker for me. I have a relaxed claw grip while playing intense FPS games like Apex. I saw the NP-01 placement of the side buttons and I really like their high placement. Anyways, I have used $10-20 chinese mice for the last 24 years so I can't wait to finally get a high quality mouse.

I use my computer for at least 8 hours every day and I just don't want all of that emf exposure. I even still use an ethernet cable for my computer. Don't get me wrong, I would definitely buy a wifi mouse as they are superior in almost every way to corded, but I am looking out for my health.

The best results will always come when there is the best connection between your hand and your instrument. 🤪. I've bought like 15 to 20 mice to try out at this point...but I think I've found my mouse...Its the Outset AX 😬😬 and the kone pro air as a backup. Its time for me to stop spending. • Every single gram matters Simply taking out the puck from gpx2 that is just ~3gm makes the mouse so much faster and light (as it also adds considerable friction surface along with the weight) To put things into perspective the general "superlight" mice of this era are at most 10-20gm lighter from the average (or ~40-50gm compared to bricks like g502) and just this "small" amount of weight difference makes a objectively demonstrably HUGE difference in everyway Tl;dr : 70gm in 2024 is unusable.
